I’ve done this before and it’s easier if you use a die grinder and a rotary file (burr bit) to put the Dzeus button holes in the hood. No need to remove the hood for each fastener and if the pilot hole is slightly off, it allows you to adjust for a small error.
I am slightly confused unless the company was bought and they changed the name, but in the late 70’s these where called “DUZ” fasteners. 1/4 turn and these popped off a curved spring that held tight. From front ends of school buses to motorcycles fairing, much less the race car circuit where they where designed for. If my wife has not yet found my stash of HotRod magazine, they had articles showing there use. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired
I wonder how much of that sheet metal debris went into the turbo inlet. You could just use another Dzus rail at the back of the hood and cowl. Mount the rail on the cowl side as you did with the fenders and you have a perfect shelf for the back of the hood to rest on
Definitely a good idea. That is just a mockup turbo we used when building our Coyote Turbo Kits, so don't worry. No Turbskis were harmed in the filming of this video lol.
Doug love the videos. And the freedom factory shirt. What about the thickness of the head of the rivet that holds the springs in. Wouldnt that have to be taken into account as they sit higher than the rest of the rail and the hood would then sit on the rivets?
Any tips for getting the rivets in to the left and the right of the slots? (Besides removing all of the springs) I'm using a .125 hood, and I can't get the rivet gun in there to install the rivets. The springs are in the way.
DONT BE INTIMATED GUYS. YOU DONT NEED MICROMETER TO INSTALL. YOU DONT NEED FANCY TOOL, USE ANY SPRING, YOU CAN ADJUST THE SPRINGS WITH NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS......

Really wish you would have shown doing the front two on the sliding rail. I'm trying to figure out how to do that on a 99-04 mustang.
Being as though you're making the rails you could make another step in the program and have a center line of the hole witness line
Circle templates from the yard store works great for stuff like that
good boy in action at minute marker 2:23
At 2:25 the most wholesome moment happens and nobody knew.

@@MotionRaceworksOfficial yall have a turbo kit that fits an SN95 with a Maximum Motorsports k-member?

Excellent video!
Been planning on getting some dzus rails for my fox.
Excellent video, thanks !
Excellent video...
Great video. You guys should consider doing this for a living....LOL. Good luck at the Christmas tree race Doug.

Can I put the fuel regulator close to the fuel tank so I just have the feed line go all the way to the front and have a short return line?
If you used proper squeezed rivets on the hood, there is no need for holes to accommodate the stick-out of the pop rivets...
GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU
Thanks for the video.
Awesome content
How much weight do you save going from a stock foxbody hood to a pin on hood?
The Irony is that we are being taught how to install Dzus clips for a hood, while wearing a shirt of a guy who will never use a hood lol
I need some for a second generation camaro
So el torro has already been built once?
Making it look easy!
Do you guys offer a universal rail u really need some to put the back window in my 69 firebird
What about the nose pieces?
Love your boxers. I have had 6 of them
If I can ever find a light weight hood for my 65 impala..
Do you have dzus rails to fit 1985 ford ranger
🤘
Lol my hood can be a pain to put on. The hood I bought used and I put my tabs on myself.
Freedom Factory brother!
Good video, but the flag above the doorway is backwards. Blue field should be on the left.

Good job ...
about to order these for my fiberglass hood, but I'm curious what stops the rivets from pulling thru the hood?
Do the "Webster wobble" lol
So now it takes 10x longer to pop the hood
Looks like everyone likes your dog, and just as important your dog looks like he likes people.
made me cringe seeing him drill above the open intake side of that turbo @ 10:38 yikes!
It looks like your American flag is backwards in this video.
