I mean, any engine will die if you run it hard enough for long enough. That’s just reality. Even DRZ400SMs need rebuilds because people ride them to the redline like a bunch of hooligans. As far as CFMoto reliability, I never had any problems with my 650. They just copied the old kawa engine for that bike though. This engine will only have as many problems as KTM engines
Many says that it being a chinese bike and having a ktm engine makes it unreliable, but the design. Something about it just hits the spot for me that the other bikes cant.
We have two cf moto farm bikes for our dairy farm and they are always cakes in mud and he have 20,000kms on each (quite a few for a farm bike always covered in mud) and we have only broken a 4wd drive shaft on one of them and it was really a problem to be honest
In the 750-800cc market, I'd take the GSX-8S. In the 850-950cc market, I'd go with a XSR900 or Z900SE. In the 1L+ market, hard to say.... they are all expensive; maybe the MT-10.
Cool bike. Shame nobody will buy one. Less than a dozen 800MTs around, and the insurance is more than a tracer 900 because they're so rare. Seen more Streetfighter V4s in rural England than a single CFMOTO
it is just a 3 to 4 year old ktm dressed in some new clothes. Possibly, you might be better off buying a second hand ktm. That said, I am really leaning towards this brand. At my local motorbike store, they stock the CFmoto range. I have to say, they are really good value for money...
CFMOTO is been seen as the leading company of domestic motorcycle manufacturers, they also make bikes for the cops and the grand of honor. The only engine in their lineup that’s original is the newer 450cc twin cylinder one, and they have a three cylinder and a four cylinder coming in 2024. The 800NK is really just for people who can’t afford a KTM 790D😂 since in China, a 790D costs twice as much as an 800NK, and we don’t get mid weight street bikes like the GSX and other choices, but we do get the Honda 750 Hornet, which costs again, about twice as much as the 800NK 😅 and BMW F900R costs almost three times as much, so.. it’s not like we have other choices. Btw, the average income in China is about 615 dollars (US) per month, and an 800NK costs about 7000 dollars here
In China, even for the lowest-level jobs, the monthly income has reached about $900. I'm an interior designer and my monthly income can reach over $2100. It only takes me three months' income to buy an 800NK, while most people in some big cities have a higher income than me. 😅
No traction control today on a new motorcycle? It's it a little absurd? Is one of the biggest safety improvements motorcycles have made and it's been a looong time since it was invented. Rode this bike at a demo day today. It was great! This bike though kind of sucks around town. This thing wants to be unleashed at low speeds its very twitchy. But this thing wants to eat breaks were a little spongy compared to the 450ss breaks. But overall monster of a machine
What is the ground clearance of this bike?
Its such a looker😮
If i was in the market I'd save a little more and get either Aprilia or Street Triple. Chinese bike would never come close to consideration.
Biggest tank in the sector?(15liter). I though the hornet was 15.2 liter?
The Hornet has. You’d think they would do the homework
@@Steve-motorcycleswell we did! ;)
Why can't we just go back to the ubiquitous 17L (4.5gal) tanks and quit the tiny fuel range nonsense already!
In other review it’s said that the suspension are a bit softer and less sporty than for example the Ktm, also you didn’t talk about the brake, how do they compare against the rivals.
it has the same J.Juan brakes as the duke790.
Looks the best among 800s🥵🥵
Add a little more in your budget you can get Inline 4 from big 4 like Honda Cb 650r and Z900.
Z900 is heavy..its just not as playfull.
Just seen the 800NK on offer at £5999 on the road including 12 months road tax
My Duke 890R doesn’t even have cruse or Bluetooth. This is a great buy.
if you miss a cruse and bluetooth on a ktm duke 890R ... you are defently the wrong rider for this bike, its not designed and built for this kind of stuff, its build for piss of litre bikes rider on twisty roads, or in other words to have a ton load of fun :)
Optional for 890 Duke R, part of an electronics package.
Chinese styling is awesomely bad still. Now let's talk about depreciation. Either you lose your shirt when you sell it on, or pay higher monthly amounts on a PCP to cover the same delta. Still want one?
MCN never discuss the finer points owning a bike and actually paying for it with your hard earned money. I wonder why.😂
@@splodge57 I’m still scratching my head at some of MCNs previous bikes of the year winners. Clearly their decisions or opinions are motivated by something other than the bikes themselves
this looks 800% better than the hornet
You said it's the same engine as the KTM 790 Duke but KTM has recently updated that line-up with he 890 Duke. Does that mean that this CFMoto is using an older KTM engine?
The LC8 engine is found both in the 790 and 890. Engines are pretty much the same, just the 890 has a slightly bigger volume and hp.
the 790 is actually back, it was indeed replaced by the 890, but they brought it back, only now it's manufactured by CFmoto, so it is in fact the same engine
Many bikes are know made either in India,China, Malaysia, I see know problem as long as it's supervised correctly.
This is a great bike I have the upgraded version that comes with the upgraded suspension and steering damper along with an iPad sized touchscreen and keyless ignition, in china it is roughly 5000 pound or 6000usd
How many liters does your motorcycle consume per 100 km?
@@Duusska that’s the only downside of f the bike CFMOTO has the fueling so high/aggressive on this bike I only get around 160-170 km in sport mode,190-220 in street and 250-270 in rain mode and that’s with a 15liter tank
@@Motolifechina Yeah I really like this bike and the features that it has but this fuel thing is a big oof. Now I have battle in my head between cfmoto 800nk and kawasaki z650 😄Thanks for the info tho.
@@Duusskaand I'm having battle of z650 ,gsx8,nk800 in my head....😢
Anyone have camshaft issues as per similar engined KTM/Husqvarna?
How anyone can support a chinese company is beyond me, what they have been doing to their people over the past 4 years is disgraceful
You for sure support multiple Chinese companies every day. Pretty much unavoidable.
@@bk83082 I don't support any of them, I agree it's unavoidable, how dare you accuse me of doing so. May god have mercy on you.
@@T3-RIDERcalm down
But it's not unavoidable to buy a Chinese motorcycle.
And a Honda Hornet is even the same price! 🤣😂
We all commend you for never having purchased anything from China. Hypocrite does not apply to you.
We need a group test with this bike included, ASAP.
How much KPL does this bike have?
looks better than both imo but what's the reliability like? honda are honda and every Suzuki I have had the engine just doesn't die no matter how hard u rag the nuts off it, also nice review and well spoken I thoroughly enjoyed the vid :)
4 year warranty though so....
And you get its truly horrible reliability from the KTM motor, to go with no dealer network.
Truly horrible? No, that is not true.
Said it needs a steering damper then cut to a shot of the steering damper behind the fork. Doh!
We have two cf moto farm bikes for our dairy farm and they are always cakes in mud and he have 20,000kms on each (quite a few for a farm bike always covered in mud) and we have only broken a 4wd drive shaft on one of them and it was really a problem to be honest
Looks good. But the exhaust position! Was someone drunk during it's design🥴
has it the same engine like in the mt800?
Yes but with a sport mode which is just devil
You cannot go past the Honda Hornet.
I would pass the Hornet straight to
The Suzuki GSX8S ..
@@jefflambert8603 nice bike but Hornet still better
@@natural9743 in your Opinion, but most U Tube comparisons & Magazines have
Given the Suzuki the Edge.
In the 750-800cc market, I'd take the GSX-8S. In the 850-950cc market, I'd go with a XSR900 or Z900SE. In the 1L+ market, hard to say.... they are all expensive; maybe the MT-10.
Wish they had kept the one-sided swingarm from the concept.
You can get a left over 2022 890 Duke GP new for almost the same price.
No you can not lol
@@adamprsut2333Maybe you can't, but I did, although it was 6 months ago.
seems like they come with a steering amper and bi directional quickshifter now.
edit: oops that's the advanced version apparently
Cool bike. Shame nobody will buy one. Less than a dozen 800MTs around, and the insurance is more than a tracer 900 because they're so rare. Seen more Streetfighter V4s in rural England than a single CFMOTO
Just paper work to do and I will get mine next week. Also they have 3 MT800 ready to be picked up by their owner.
The Chinese make great bikes for other companies its just the Chinese branded bikes people worry about i have a feeling cfmoto will do well
Bonkers bike !!!
it is just a 3 to 4 year old ktm dressed in some new clothes. Possibly, you might be better off buying a second hand ktm. That said, I am really leaning towards this brand. At my local motorbike store, they stock the CFmoto range. I have to say, they are really good value for money...
I'd buy this over the Suzuki and Honda hornet..styling looks better
Yeah ? Don't regret while reselling
@@Volv0x. when you love something so much, there wouldn't be any regret selling it,enjoy it for what its worth.
7499 for the advanced model in UK
Very reliable
A Chinese bike at the same price as a Honda? Reealy difficult choice ;-)
Not bad at all! !
CF moto quality is way better than other chinese manufacturers but it nowhere near the Japanese
我在中国已经骑了800nk很长时间,操控性特别好,电控辅助个人感觉没有必要,还没有上升到公升级车型。
It looks far better than the hornet, and even the gsx8s
Sat on one of these at the Adventure Bike Rider festival. Feel really nice, people who ride them will be won over.
sponsored by CFmoto
its not only a challenger, its much better
No traction control today on a new motorcycle? It's it a little absurd? Is one of the biggest safety improvements motorcycles have made and it's been a looong time since it was invented. I can not understand this, i wouldn't buy a new bike without modern safety features, we all know how dangerous our passion is.
So I went for a look a GSX-8S today. Turns out Suzuki are practically giving away their GSX-S750 at a way cheaper price than the GSX-8S.
