Fun comparison. I have the Ozark Trail cooler. The closures are very tight. The lack of a drain is no problem because I prefer to use containers of frozen water for coolant and use as it melts and food doesn't get soiled. For additional insulation I made a slip cover with Reflexix. I camp and road trip and it has served me well. Thanks for the video.
We love our Yeti cooler and all our cups. In our hot summers in CO it’s been great for drinks outside our trailer. Keeps ice all weekend. Our cups/water bottle/mugs are amazing! Keeps ice water all day and my iced coffee perfectly chill. Yeti also has amazing customer service when we had a package lost.
I loved the yeti cup review. I preferred ozark in that one but now i will wait for a deal on yeti and get a yeti. But as far as the cooler.... The ozark is more than enough for me. And yes, that's a measurement for fishing.
For boondocking the Yeti would be the one to use. I was a Boy Scout leader for 20 years and we used Yeti coolers and nothing alse came close. I am enjoying your product videos
We have a 1975 Apache hard side, and definitely need a cooler. Our heat/air keeps us just barely from freezing/roasting. We read that the Lifetime cooler rated better than the Ozark Trail, so we purchased one this last season. I'm not sure how it compares to the Yeti, but it is definitely better than our old school Coleman. We can get an extra day or two before needing to refresh the ice. When my husband is done with Chiropractic school, we plan to upgrade to a camper. For now though, we have to make due with what my minivan can pull. 😂 Love the videos!!
I was impressed that some of the stuff in the cooler actually lowered in temperature. I wish that the ozark trail cooler also had a spout that really comes in handy. Love the videos can't wait til camping season!
You guys are awesome! I love your videos! This review was amazing. I have a Yeti myself that I use for camping and its worth the spend in my opinion. Less trips to the camp store for ice and you can have piece of mind that your food wont spoil. Look forward to your next video!
We love our Ozark Trail cooler! We got a 52 quart OT cooler and also a 24-can soft cooler, which TOGETHER are still less than the ONE smaller YETI cooler. RIP to that ice cream.... sad day! #RVEastCoast ❤ Aaron & Nicole
I think the Yetti won this, but not by much and surely not enough for me to spend triple the price of the Ozark cooler! Kind of like the Lodge cast iron pots and skillets vs the Ozark Trail (Walmart). Not enough difference to make me pay triple! Great videos and info content. I enjoy your channel. Keep up the great job. Maybe see you on the road in the summer. We are from central Pa. also. OOPS the second tests proved the Yetti to be a little better!!!
#RVEastCoast I think as long as you’re having fun doing these, who cares how long the video is. No one’s forced to watch the whole thing. I said it last week and I’ll say it again, I think what you’re doing is great. Can’t wait to see where the warmer weather will take you this season. 👍🏻
Thank you Tommy, we truly appreciate your kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to type this encouraging comment! Good luck!🍀
Thank You for the review! Would you be willing to put the YETI up against a mid range priced cooler? Walmart's Ozark Trail products are considered the bottom of the barrel. My Lady and I camp in my 27' camper and take motorcycle camping trips taking our trailer along. Three days worth of food are probably our duration for keeping items cold. For her Insulin, we have a separate bottle sized container that has a fan we can plug into the bike for better cooling. I know it's not everyone's concern, but medicine keeps many people from getting outdoors. The "4 all Family 72hr Insulin cooler" extends our time outdoors when she needs her meds. You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
We enjoy watching your videos! Keep them coming! We don't keep ice cream in our cooler, just our beverages. :) #RVEASTCOAST !!!! And please keep the out takes, they're great!
Who needs their drink to stay hot/cold that long? I used to bring hot coffee to work in my Thermos mug in the morning, leave it in my car and then in the evening I would sip on warm coffee on my way home! (In Alaska fall/winter/spring) Not completely relevant here, other than that Thermos might be another brand to consider, but I think there are lots of reasons someone might want their drink to stay at temp.
if you "pre chill" those coolers, you would be amazed at how well both work. I am shocked at the yeti's performance but is it worth the extra $170? Love the video. #RVeastcoast
I hated to pay that price for yeti, so I asked for it for my birthday/Christmas. I have the 28 liter. I'm going to use it for my 2 to 3 day tent camping.
Hey guys, pretty good video. However, I would like to point out that as with any test involving thermal capabilities, it’s a little unfair to put the same amount of ice in Coolers with different capacities. The yeti roadie has a claimed 22 quart capacity when the Ozark Trail is a 26 quart. I know that only sounds like a 4 quart different but technically the Ozark Trail has an 18% larger capacity. The only true fair way to compare these coolers would be to fill both of them to the rim with ice. And do the test that way. Air is the enemy when it comes to thermal protection or insulation. So you would need to remove all the air in both ( by filling them) to test their actual thermal retention. Would you consider redoing the test with both of them completely filled with ice?
Steve, thanks for the comment and thoughtful analysis. I will double check with Eli but i am 90% sure that both coolers listed 26qt capacity. (Maybe one was 26.4). We tried to make sure everything was as accurate as possible.
I guess the question is, "Is the difference worth $170?" Also, I think if you tested them a little closer to full, like a person would actually use them, the difference would be reduced. The price difference could mean another camping trip this summer.
Another good video. I preferred the second test. The first one doesn't seem like you broke the ice up evenly. So the ice in the Yeti appeared to be in huge chunks still (which would help it stay colder) while the Ozark trail ice was very broken up. Using the ice packs was a solid and consistent test though, and definitely showed a performance improvement. If the OT had a drain valve, I would say it's a no brainer which one to buy. Not having a drain spout is a bit silly, even cheapo $30 coolers have them. #rveastcoast
Great review as was the last one! You mentioned tent camping but Yeti may me good if you have a 2 week trip or boondocking. RV fridge is often too small #RVEastCoast
Thanks for the video! It was entertaining and informative. We own a mixture of Ozark, RTIC and YETI tumblers/coolers and like them all for different reasons. #rveastcoast
Good, practical video. Very informative. I think how long you need to wait before re-icing is important. I don't think I would buy the Yeti since most of our trips would be less than 6-8 hour drives. I'll pocket the difference to spend on food and beer for when we arrive!! I should report the two of you to the PCIC for letting good ice cream go soft! PCIC (People Cruelty to Ice Cream) #RVEastCoast..
#rveastcoast we enjoyed that. You two are fun to watch and your videos are a nice breath of fresh air. Not the same old same old. Keep the videos coming. We're in NW PENNSYLVANIA so your helping pass the winter for camping season to come. You should come to our campground sometime. PS #icecream LOL 😆
Yeti is definitely better but not sure it’s $170 better. Great experiment!! You guys crack us up all the time. Totally agree if we were tent camping the Yeti would be the best choice for sure. We love your reviews!! #rveastcoast !!!
I didn’t win the Yeti but I did get a shoutout! 🤣 Surprised with these results as well. I’m still sticking with my Ozark Trail and spending the money saved on adult beverages 😜🍹🍺 Let’s just be sure to fill that cooler with fish this season!🎣 #RVEastCoast 👍🏼 RIP Ice Cream!
#RVEASTCOAST .. I love watching your videos. And you just saved me from buying a $250+ cooler. We have a camper so we only need a cooler to transport until the fridge is cold and then we rely on the cooler for drinks because #2teenagers. The camper fridge just isn’t big enough. I think the Ozark will serve that purpose just fine.
#RVEastCoast. I like these comparison product videos. But in all honesty, with a full cooler (ice and food) and for what most people would need, the Ozark Trail is a good value IMHO. And at least the ice cream wasn't Turkey Hill...LOL.
Another great review. Doesn’t have to be totally scientific to be valid but practical. RIP to those wonderful ice cream pints. 😢 Keep up the great work folks. #RVEastCoast
Yeti cups are about as much as my wallet can afford....I want a cooler so bad, but they are A-expensive, and B-no wheels for pulling behind. Good video and good info. Thanks again.#rveastcoast
#RVEastcoast Thanks for the comparison. I need to get a new cooler. We just use ours for drinks so I think the Ozark will work. Yetis are good but PRICY!
#RVEASTCOAST Thank you for doing your yeti tests. Truly, I expected a bigger difference between the two, especially in only 24 hours and not opening the coolers at all. For us campers, maybe another ice test for 36 hours, opening the cooler several times as you might in actual use, camping. What do you think? Thank again 😊
I feel for you Eli. Has she spent the $50 yet? 😄 I think, in most cases, just putting in a few more pounds of ice in the cheap cooler (assuming it will fit) would even out the performance. Liked your approach until you ruined that ice cream. 🤔
Not sure the difference justifies the $170 additional cost. Of course there may be some value to setting the cooler outside so folks passing by can see you have a Yeti.! #rveastcoast
#RVEASTCOAST I love watching your videos. Even with the ones where you compare products. You should try the TAL mug and water jugs from Walmart. I got one of the jugs for my daughter when she played volleyball in school. It stays cold for a long time.
I have an ozark trail big cooler and it was great on my 2000 miles cross country road trip to New Orleans.
Air is the enemy. Fill them up with ice and let's see what happens. Fun video none the less.
Good point, we if we ever make another comparison we will use more ice!
Fun comparison. I have the Ozark Trail cooler. The closures are very tight. Oops, I didn't know to # RV EAST COAST.
Thanks for the feedback. We prefer ice packs too- less fuss.

That’s great to hear! Glad yeti works so well for you and you are getting your money’s worth.
Thanks for taking the time. We appreciate you guys. Ivan
Thanks Ivan. Much appreciated!
One of the best realistic comparisons. Shocked at the results
I would still go with the MUCH less expensive Ozark. #rveastcoast
I loved the yeti cup review. I preferred ozark in that one but now i will wait for a deal on yeti and get a yeti. But as far as the cooler.... The ozark is more than enough for me. And yes, that's a measurement for fishing.

That’s a good point. Maybe when I let Eli boondock he’ll have to get one!

Perfect example of how everyone’s needs are different. We’ll have to look into the Lifetime brand.
Thanks for the feed back on yeti. We Love your video's. Keep it going
We love our Yeti products. 👍
Thank you for watching amigo!!!!
Thank for the chance to win! This video was Authentic and entertaining:) #RVEASTCOAST

thanks for the video! this are my 2 current choices for a cooler! :) summer is here
We love our Ozark Trail cooler! We got a 52 quart OT cooler and also a 24-can soft cooler, which TOGETHER are still less than the ONE smaller YETI cooler. RIP to that ice cream.... sad day! #RVEastCoast ❤ Aaron & Nicole
You’ll be glad to hear we replaced the ice cream 🍦🙂
@@RVEastCoast I can sleep easy now!! 🍦
Love your channel. I look forward every week to watch on. Please keep doing these type videos too. Very informative. #RVEASTCOAST.

I never would have though the Yeti would have performed that much better. Amazing! #RVEastCoast
We were surprised too. Thanks for watching!

NICE!!!!! that's going to be the ultimate test 😅 let us know how it goes!

Awe, thanks so much!! Can’t wait to get back out there!!
Great video, always enjoyable and informative.
Thank you for the kind comment!
We decided to go in the middle with RTIC. I did have a RITIC tumbler and like my Yeti better.
Yeah, we’ve heard great things about those as well!
I guess the question is, "Is the difference worth $170?" Also, I think if you tested them a little closer to full, like a person would actually use them, the difference would be reduced. The price difference could mean another camping trip this summer.
Yes the cost is high and you would definitely have to evaluate if it’s worth it.

Yeah the lack of a drain spot was annoying!
Thank you for all the info you give us on your channel, watch you every week from Ontario Canada. #rveastcoast
#RVEastCoast. Like one of the other viewers, I ended purchasing a RTIC cooler this year. it's been working well for me.
So glad to hear, we may take a look at some Rtic products! Good luck and thanks for watching!
$250 - $86 = $164
Where I live you can buy an extra bag of ice every weekend for a year with the wasted money on the Yeti cooler.
Woo Hoo. Fawn won.
Great video guys as always. Always wondered if the Yeti was worth the money for the coolers.
Til next week 😀
Thanks. Eli better get on with getting me that gift card.
First time watching you! You two are fun :) We take our Yeti's to Mexico to keep our drinks nice and cold.
Ooohh sounds nice!!
For the price difference I will always go with the cheaper one
Love your dynamic as a couple!
Thank you ❤️
Loved this friendly competition. I really enjoyed the differences you pointed out. #rveastcoast #RIPicecream
Thank you. We bought more ice cream hahah 😆
Yeti cooler. Didn’t win the tumbler but still love your channel
Thank you Dan!
Nice review would been nice if the Ozark trail would have had drain plug if you use ice
Agree. That was a nice feature on the yeti.
AN EXCELLENT, FUN AND VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.😀😃😄😁😆🙃😇
Thank you Ronald.
Great review as was the last one! You mentioned tent camping but Yeti may me good if you have a 2 week trip or boondocking. RV fridge is often too small #RVEastCoast

Danger zone temp for food is 40 to 140 degrees. Bacteria grows in food in this zone. Yeti is worth it.
Great video and thanks for the useful review. I’d like to see Yeti VS RTIC. #rveastcoast

Another good review. Enjoy that Target gift card, Fawn!
This actually has made me reconsider buying Yeti. Thanks guys! #rveastcoast
You are quite welcome. 🙂
I'm going to be buying something else than what I've got. Coleman. Will not hold ice at all. But bought it cheap at the Coleman store. Not again.

I love yeti everything ❤️

Thank you for doing your yeti tests. Truly, I expected a bigger difference between the two, especially in only 24 hours and not opening the coolers at all. For us campers, maybe another ice test for 36 hours, opening the cooler several times as you might in actual use, camping. What do you think? Thank again 😊
Maybe we’ll test again in the summer while being outside for a real comparison!
I feel for you Eli. Has she spent the $50 yet? 😄
I think, in most cases, just putting in a few more pounds of ice in the cheap cooler (assuming it will fit) would even out the performance.
Liked your approach until you ruined that ice cream. 🤔
Bahahahah!! I have not spent the $50 yet because Eli has not given it to me yet!! He better get on it!! -Fawn
Not sure the difference justifies the $170 additional cost. Of course there may be some value to setting the cooler outside so folks passing by can see you have a Yeti.! #rveastcoast
Lol so everyone knows you’re a high roller 😆
#RVEASTCOAST
I love watching your videos. Even with the ones where you compare products. You should try the TAL mug and water jugs from Walmart. I got one of the jugs for my daughter when she played volleyball in school. It stays cold for a long time.
