The problem with this test is that as long as ice remains in the mug, the water temp will remain at 32. So all the tumblers will be equal as long as there is any amount of ice. Try a test where you take chilled water from the fridge, NO ICE, and check every hour to see the temp difference. That would give you a better idea of which tumbler is better.
I’ve had an Ozark for years and never disappointed. I do have popular brands as well but use my Ozark the most. I just today got a Brumate so I’ll see how that works.
In real world experience, I've had my yeti tumblers keep hot for a few hours, and keep ice all day. Most people are going to drink whatever is in their cup before the ice melts or coffee gets cold, anyway. The bottles keep ice way longer. I've had ice keep in one of my bottles for a couple of days.
YETI, because of the options, handle, straw lid, replacements.., and the lid is less likely to break on the YETI than all those others, and easier to remove and clean without breaking, also that YETI is better than the new handle ones because it doesn't drink in one direction like the new screw on ones with handles that will wear out the seal in that one spot over time.
I only have the Ozark trail but I love it. I don't imagine the others could make me happier at 5x the price. I wish I got the 40 oz Ozark but I've never seen them at my store or on line.
@@CruelSun69 compared to Stanley. I have a bunch of the 32 oz Ozark trail tumblers I caught on sale for $5 - $7. Since I posted that I bought a 40 oz Ozark trail for $19.95. that's not nearly the price difference but still good enough
2 years later Stanley hiked up to 40.00 😭 I used to buy Stanley tumbler for teacher gifts cause they were cheap and now I can’t do it anymore. 😢 Great review as I was looking for new cups to be gifted this year.
the Stanley he reviewed was 30 oz so the price only raised $2. 40$ for a 40oz is definitely overpriced tho! So expensive cause its a big trend on Tik Tok... lol XD
The first practical test. Agreed not using my tumbler to store ice but also while on the road, opening up another can of soda, nice to still have some ice. So boils down to the two and maybe quality of build. I have had my Stanley thermos for years, fallen off my truck several times and still works fine. Maybe some brand loyalty, but for the price, I can afford to buy a replacement. ,
I've been rocking the Ozark tumbler for a few years now and I couldn't be happier, if I remember correctly I payed around $8 at Walmart when I bought it.... I can't imagine paying what those other cups cost today when the Ozark will do just as good if not better than the others; I'll keep my money in my pocket!!!
I've had my Yeti sitting in my car in Arizona in open parking lots on 110+ degree days during shopping trips. Still cold at the end of the day. Maybe the others are just as good, but having cold water after six hours in a hot car IS real world.
I know my comments late but I have a BUILT brand tumbler.had it for 2 years now.i love it just as much as my Ozark Trail mini tumbler.bc of these cups I drink more water now than tea or soda.i loved watching this video.great job ❤
Great video! I have ALMOST pulled the trigger on purchasing a Yeti multiple times this year, but something has held me back...the price tag LOL... thanks for sharing this video.
Great video, I only have the ozark trail one. Always wanted a Yeti but could not see a reason to spend that much money on it, just for the name brand. Thanks again!
Buy the Ozark. I've had one almost 4 years. You can put hot coffee in it in the Am and it will still be warm by the afternoon. At indoor temps ice will last all day in it. You can leave it in a parking lot on 100degree days while shopping and still have ice. I once filled it with crushed ice & pina colada and had it sit in the sun a few hours by the pool. There was a big ice ball in the bottom when I was finished.
I've already got an Ozark Trail. I figured out several years ago that they work just as well, and cost way less. Since all of them are made in China now, I can't even justify buying a more expensive one to support an American manufacturer.
Im planning to get a tumbler one day but not sure which one yet lol. With Stanley im seeing the bennefit of being suitable fir hot and cold drinks. The lid allows that easily. However it has the isssue of leaking and the lead controversy. The hydro Flask and Yeti ones seem more secure but with hydroflask you need a whole different mug for hot drinks on the go while with the yeti spend just another 10 for a lid for hot drinks.
Good review. Most videos i have seen comparing ozark-RTIC-YETI shows that yeti products usually get out performed with RTIC and ozark trail flip flopping depending on the product and conditions. Great review
I need to compare the Kodi, RTIC, Yeti and Ozark can koozies and probably get the same results. FYI the Ozark can koozies have a cap lifter on the bottom that sells for $8.94, the Kodi sells for $13.95.
The straw alone on that Stanley is a game changer 😂 only have Yeti mug and a small 12 oz rambler so need a bigger reliable rambler for when I’m roofing and need coffee at 6am thank you for the video 🙏🏽
Excellent test I watch a lot of people with those digital laser thermometers and they're coming up with ice water colder than 32゚ The only thing that may be is they got the laser on an ice cube ice water's 32゚ that's how we calibrate The monitors ice water is 32゚It doesn't matter if it's in a hot car hot addictOr at the North Pole if it's ice water It's 32゚ thanks for the video Great job🙂
Awesome video. Thanks! 1 more thing which I was expecting from this video was what happens when it’s hot? Does the lid come off when it’s hot? Does it spill?
In my experience they all keep Ice about the same but I work in a office environment and prefer bigger cups so that I don't have to get up and refill constantly and man do some of the cheap and mid teir cups make your water taste like garbage after a number of hours.
Great review! I use my Tumblers everyday for work and I have noticed no real difference between my old black Ozark cup and my different Yeti's besides the price. Luckily, I don't pay retail for the Yeti's but its still higher than an Ozark Trail.
You don't need a thermometer if there is still ice in the cup. If the temps were above 32F, the ice would have already melted. An easier way to do this is to simply see which loses the ice first. There is really no need for a thermometer for cold testing until after all the ice is gone.
I have three YETI cups there are great cups. Would like to see you do another video using a Contigo cup with the push button to drink and seal. I promise you it will beat every cup you tested.
Great test and you made it with the actual intended use, no one will leave a cup full of ice for a few days in real life and expect go back to it expecting to drink from it, well done. My research and personal experience has shown that the Yeti has copper inside the walls of which takes the metallic taste that some other metal containers have. For example, I had a Hydro Flask brand that tasted like I had a mouthful of coins, Yeti did NOT have that issue and I have never used anything other than that after. To me it's worth the extra money but I have not tried the others in this video. ;)
@@EverydayMan I agree! I have a Rtic tumbler going on to about 5 years now and still kicking and no metallic taste whatsoever. I use it here in South Texas when temperatures reach 117 degrees outside! I love my cup 😊especially since it is customized with Punisher designs.
@@skylolo7359 with my experience the tinted lids get warm faster when in direct sunlight. It would be nice to know what ones block UV. It seems to me in sunlight the tinted one attracts more heat
4 hrs is not enough time. As long as there is ice in the cups the water will stay at 32 degrees. But maybe one of them had less or more ice than the others which would indicate if it's better or worse quality. In Texas 4 hours matters a lot lol it's brutal here. I would test them for an entire day only because I use the half gallon jugs and I use them for work. The Ozark trail has not disappointed but I do wonder if the yeti is worth the price. I wouldn't mind paying the price if it performed significantly better
It appeared to me you put the thermometer from one to the others too fast to see they all were at 32°..wouldn't it be a better test to put 4 of the same brand & type thermometers in the 4 different cups..maybe they would register different temperatures ...
As long as there was more ice than water it was going to be 32°. Besides those thermometers cost money. I had already bought all tje cups and I dont have sponsors. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

Went to my Wal-Mart the other day (March 2023) and the Ozark Trail tumblers now come with a copy of the mag slider lid. Still $9.

@C if your wallet notices $20 youve got bigger problems.
@C if you cant find the Yeti for $38 like i did 4 hours ago... in the middle of nowhere Montana.... youve got bigger problems than basic math bud.
@@OvertonWindexThank you for making sure this thread isn't douche-free.

The less water you have means the ice melted less.
