      You have to get your thyroid checked too as hypothyroidism can prevent getting rid completely and Reverse T3 issues can cause issues to when T4 stops converting into T3 and forms Reverse T3 that is a dud form.

      Hi Luna! Feel free to steam/boil/sauté your greens/cabbage/cauliflower/broccoli/other veggies. It's all about what feels the best for your body! It also might be that you crave more raw foods when it's warm and cooked food when it's cold -- it's all natural and you should rotate what you eat and how you eat it.

    thank you so much for this! I have recently started a candida diet and I am vegan. Your plan is different to the one I was given. What do you think of hummous and tamari on this diet?

      Hi! There are no universal laws as everyone is different. Overall, tamari and other wholesome GMO-free organic soy products are fine (unless one is allergic to soy). As far as hummus is concerned, it depends on what it's made of. Some people need to avoid chickpeas for a couple of weeks, others are fine. Most people should tolerate sprouted and cooked chickpeas. Lentils and mung beans (especially sprouted) should be fine even when on the cleanse phase. I hope this helps!

    I eat a WFPB diet and I've been reading on your blog about GL etc... I tried an anti-candida (non vegan) diet last year and it improved my skin so much (I have had acne for 5 years). However, I ate like 1,200 calories a day which is way too little for me as I've struggled with being underweight my entire life. By eating a vegan anti-candida diet, I feel like it would be no different? I need enough calories to fuel my workouts. For instance, the oatmeal recipe is 285 calories and I usually eat 500 calories for breakfast. For lunch I may have some grain (quinoa, buckwheat or millet usually) with legumes (mostly chickpeas) and then various of greens and half an avocado. If I'm not wrong, I could eat 100 g of quinoa and 100 g of chickpeas and that would be 20 GL points? I saw a table on your blog and I just wanted to make sure I understood it correctly. But then I wouldn't have any space left for other veggies, wouldn't I? Please help me, I'm so tired of having acne but I'm also incredibly tired of undereating... The past 3 days I've been eating between 1,200-1,500 calories and I feel weak and fatigue already :/ (I haven't started the diet yet though, the past 3 days I only reduced my grain intake because I hate my skin but I can already feel the impact of undereating)
    Also, is there any different in GL between cooked and canned chickpeas?

      Hi! I understand your frustration! I'll publish a video about low glycemic diet next week -- good timing right? 😊
      It's difficult to get more than 1600kcal when adhering to the GL points and low-fat principle (under 25% of kcal) at the same time. However, as there are limitations to both GI and GL, I suggest you take this more as a guideline as opposed to a strict rule. Nothing is a one-size-fits-all solution! Hence, it can be that it's OK for you to eat more fats (in whole food form though: nuts, seeds, avocados, olives) and/or exceed the GL points per meal. When I started my cleanse I ate about 80 grams (dry weight) of grains with both lunch and dinner. When you cook it, it's quite a decent portion. Add the veggies as well and I was very full after a meal.
      It's not right to starve -- if you feel hungry, eat more nuts/seeds and/or gluten-free grains, non-GMO and additive-free soy products (best edamame beans, soybeans, tempeh). You'll need to figure out by trial and error how much fat and grains/legumes it is OK for you to eat.
      I wouldn't suggest working out heavily in the beginning of your cleanse as your body will be detoxing and this alone is an extra burden. Walking is good though -- I did my 10,000 steps daily and felt fine energy wise. When you feel that you have extra energy and strength, go ahead and work out 😊
      A few remedies for acne: Max 15% tea tree oil applied to skin, i.e. 10% solution = 30 essential oil drops per tablespoon of carrier oil. I'd suggest you start lower though (5%, 15 drops) to make sure your skin tolerates it well. And try to apply on your arm first. Make sure to avoid old oxidised oils.       @@nutriplanet Thank you so much for answering to my comment! You are right, I can take it more as a guideline. When I make oats in the morning I take 1,5 dl (67 g)... But a normal portion is actually 1 dl (45 g) so I guess I could just start reducing my grains only slightly and also pick low GI/GL fruit over the higher ones. I usually make date energy balls with seeds and oats in them though, but I guess the seeds and the oats lower the GL?

      Hi! There's a huge difference between refined carbs and complex carbs. We need complex carbs to thrive -- also broccoli and cabbage contain carbs.

      Hi! Soy is totally fine as long as it's organic and non GMO. In fact, tempeh, tofu and edamame beans are excellent low glycemic high protein foods that keep your blood sugar stable and won't feed Candida.       It effects your thyroid and has a host of other problems. I use to be vegan and those foods are one of the main reasons I have horrible digestion. She's using them because she's vegan and doesn't have much of other options for protein
