In the context of Japanese language it was translated as Sorcerer, but if we talk about the actual term used and the context the word used by Sophia and Lancer is "Majin" which can have a few different meaning. "Majin is the Japanese word for jinn and its literal meaning: a magical person. Majin may also refer to: Any magic-user especially a human, a demon, or a genie. Person who is enhanced or created by magic either a magician or not. Any deity especially a magic deity, a demon deity, or a superhuman deity." - A definition I got from google just to show the image brought up by the term. Here Majin would be different than demons as it is used for non-demon people, it basically refer to an otherworldly magical person and with the connotation of being really strong on par with greater dragons who are about as strong as small deities basically (Basically falling into the magic and superhuman deity meaning). Honestly I think Sorcerer was a poor translation with no actual good word to express the actual meaning of the word that wouldn't clash with another title or character. So far the public don't know many people fitting the description.

@@Sup_Dah, so it's jin for god. Thanks, I completely forgot it can be that.
@@alexusman Just saying in the LN & Manga they use the Jin (人) as in "person" for Makoto.
@@Sup_D so which is it then? You are contradicting yourself.
@@alexusman my first comment was relating to the meaning, aka., demon or demonic person being related to Ma-jin with the Kami/Shin kanji, rather than the one using Hito kanji
Root, aka Luto can change his/her gender willfully, so Makoto wouldnt need to worry about his behind...And he/she is actually already a mother...
Luto/Root can change sex at will, the words were more exactly he is falling for him and starting to become female
This is how you do OP!
Superior Dragons (Root/Tomoe/Lancer) don't have a sex.
I'm not sure if they said it when (s)he was first introduced but Root only recently started being male. Well, I'm pretty sure it was mentioned but I can't remember the whole conversation.
I know Tomoe asks Root, 'when did you start being a man' and during the reply I think Root mentions (s)he had a baby and some other stuff and says becoming a man was on a whim.
I think (s)he even offers to become a woman again for Makoto and they show an image of Root as a man and woman.
I'm pretty sure all of that is in the anime. Don't take my word for it though.
Having said all that, it's still...I don't care what's on the inside...you have an Adam's Apple and a man's hands....
Why Makoto didn't know who created star lake?
Btw these subtitles aren't all correct. Makoto is known as "Devil," not the sorcerer.
i'm disappointed in his mana armor in the anime too after seeing it in the Light Novel
If it helps in another translation he’s not called sorcerer but devil
9:30 He got screwed by hyumans then by demons + they were screwing with his students and finally godess try to screw with him... He simply had enough and show his beast with in (like 1st time against spider, execution of greedy Bch adventurer, in 1st fight against Sophia) now he is like rising ocean.. at start it looks not that bad more you look at it more you are like... oh S.. NOPE im out.
Just remember luto has a female form…
lel i watched this until i saw the cat
lol shes the "dragon slayer"
but hes a "dragon lier"
Well Root can change became women 😂
🎉🎉🎉
I don't get why they're translating Majin as Sorcerer if the real meaning is Devil or Demon and it makes it lose the impact of the word
Because no one gives translators episodes several weeks ahead, it's usually hours, so the safe term "sorcerer" which doesn't clash with "demon" the translator picked before turned out to be wrong. In such cases usually translation keeps old wrong thing instead of coming up with something more fitting (which may be fixed after season ends), because changing stuff would just sow confusion who did what etc etc. After all no one's rewatching all aired episodes each week.
🔥
Why is the English sub much worse than the ones I've watched?
They called Makoto "Majin Kuzunoha".
Majin literally means "The Devil".
Majin does NOT have any connection to the word "Sorcerer" wtf 💀
Yes I'm still mad about revious episode
Makoto said that Shiki is stronger ... but he doesn't know about Lancers Upgrade!
Yeah only Makoto can beat him
@@euphy_connect Sure ... Makoto thought about the nerfed version. But I pretty sure Tomoe called him a cheeky little shit while knowing his full potential ... so her and Mio could take him too (if they don't play around with guns and swords)
or is he now even stronger then ever before?
@@thePanda7914 I don't think he can beat Tomoe or Mio. Remember that both of them are on another level compared to Shiki.
Essentially it goes:
1. Makoto
2. Tomoe and Mio (minor difference in power)
3. Shiki
But Shiki has that staff... which can turn into a dragonslayer greatsword.
And Makoto had the detection kai up when he said that Shiki is stronger than Lancer... He was not speaking about the past, but about what he was perceiving in that precise moment.
@@ObatongoSensei I don't know if he can measure combat strength with his kai ... and IF he can, he's probably comparing it with himself ... which would make everyone there seem like ants
Can i have please some blackscreen so we can see the video
Season finally starting to pay off.
you have a weird sub they are calling him the Devil
Cat
Ok serious! This is just my opinion but I agree with you. His Slime armor need a bit of improvement and refinement. Which means he still has room to grow.
