Hi, are you still peaking the autofocus noise from the Sigma 18-35mm with the Rode mic mounted at the right of the camera as shown at the end of the rig?
The Hybrid Shooter The Hybrid Shooter I have an a6300 and I need to build a rig like that but I need a l lens with that range and similar aperture for a project that requires to go many places (documentary), several weathers and the idea is not to change lenses (because those weathers) and I was thinking about the sigma 16mm 1.4 and the 30mm 1.4 but I will be changing lenses, so, any recommendations? Yeah I'll think about it as I also have the GH5s and the G7. Btw, I have all the same lens you showed in the video. I have a question about this monitor. At the moment I use the Feelworld F6 which is an older generation model. Is your monitor made of aluminum or does it have any metal parts? My F6 is a great little monitor but it feels damn cheap due to all-plastic build. I asked this because an Amazon listing says the monitor you have is aluminum
I'm happy Smallrig makes the handle for the left side. Was the only reason I hadn't got the wood grip for my cage yet. So now I can buy both. Love the rig you built. Just got my 6500 last month. My first camera haha
i have an a6500 and would love to rig it up like yours. wondering, do you hear autofocus from the sigma lens? also, do you use a gimbal? can you put this rig on something like the zhiyun crane? or can you recommend some other gimbal?
Yes, you can hear the autofocus. You can put the rig on a gimbal, but it doesn't make sense, using just camera and lens on a gimbal is much better option.
Thanks for these tips. I'm building a rig for my a6400. Would you still recommend the sigma 18-35 or would a sony 18-105 with some sigma 16mm and 30mm primes be better?
Tanks for the video.Just one question.I shot most of all during my holidays. How does this ring solution works in term of stability? I mean is the footage you get handheld usable? Tanks
You might have to get different cage, but other than that it will work. Gimbal will provide better stabilization than A6500 IBIS if that is what you are asking.
@@TheHybridShooter That is a nice thing about that handle, that you can change it up to balance the rig. But why didn't you put the monitor directly on the cage and put and put a top handle in front of the monitor? Kind of hard to explains but basically the same as most RED cameras are setup. That way you don't need those 15mm rods and the monitor clamp.

Okay interesting, thanks. I also wanted to get your opinion on whether or not you think Sigma will release an updated version of the 18-35mm f/1.8 lens for native Sony E-mount? I've been holding back on the current version because of the MC-11 lens adapter required.
