Holehills Medley - PMD: Gates to Infinity | Caleb P. (500 Subscriber Special)

These two themes were suggested in my comments section a couple weeks ago and I took a listen at both of them and figured I could make an epic orchestral medley between the two for my 500 subscriber special! I wanted to do something epic for the celebration that was also gonna be challenging as well.
For my track, I mainly changed the instrumentation of the tracks and also created a transition between the two tracks so they flow smoothly. This track took me a long time to make so I really hope you enjoy it! Finally, thank you for 500 subscribers; I can't wait to see what happens with this channel in the future!

Holehills! Among my favorites in all of PMD music for sure. This medley gave me goosebumps, especially at the big drops. Ahh, so good!
The percussion in the beginning reminds me a lot of a song in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Oh man, Caleb, this is fantastic! This is easily one of your best productions yet, and it really sounds so vibrant, detailed, and bright! It feels like a culmination of the techniques, skills, and instruments you've accumulated since the start of your UA-cam journey. What a way to celebrate this exciting milestone!
The percussive elements in particular are really impressive, and you've really set a new precedent here, with not only the selection of percussive sounds, but the _way_ they're used, too. For instance, I love the driving, march-style beat with a series of snare rolls and various accents and articulations - same goes for that wooden-sounding percussion that emerges at around 0:18. In tandem with the rhythmic marimbas and other supporting parts, it really creates such a majestic and powerful beat, and I couldn't help but feel energized by it! Also, great use of rising suspended cymbals to segue between sections - that's definitely a signature element of your music that I always enjoy hearing. Also, those hand drums during the transition segment at 1:34 sound really cool, and they fit right in with the existing beat.
In terms of instrumentation, the parts all complement each other well, and I like the hybridization of synthetic and acoustic instruments. There's so much variety here, yet the synergy of the sounds is kept strong. The instrument groupings are really well done, with glassy instruments being paired with mallets and winds, brass & string duos, and everything in between! It must have taken a lot of creative energy to arrange for so many different parts, but the result is varied and dynamic! And I love the added details in certain parts, like that pitch fall at 1:02 and the descending sequence at 2:54 - stuff like that is just pure ear candy!
And of course, a big congratulations for surpassing 500 subscribers! It's been a real joy to witness your progress and to hear your music improving with each new release. I know you'll continue to grow further, both in community and ability, and I look forward to seeing even greater success in your channel! Keep it up, my friend! 🌟

PMD is criminally underrated which is definitely one reason I remix it!
