- Hello guys! Another PMD cover! And this time, this is the one you've been waiting for! Great Canyon from PMD: Rescue Team series! I hope you like it.
I wanna to say a big thank you to Serena Dal Maso who created the beautiful artwork for the thumbnail! Torchic was my main pokemon and Mudkip was my partner when I first played this game. So this artwork kinda resonate my experience when I was playing the game and this was very personal for me. Please check them out guys!

Word can't describe how I felt when listening to this...
The GBA was my very first gaming hardware I owned myself and there're just so many memories and emotions attached to songs like this one.
Oh, if only Shiny Natu looked like that. That's so lovely.
And the remix itself is perfection. Drazorleaf really captured everything that made the original track so memorable and made it more awesome.
I noticed your comment and I thought you might like to know that Natu is not shiny but actually my version, Natu 🌙, since regular Xatu stares at the Sun, my version stares at the moon

When I first played, Great Canyon's theme simply vibed with me and it's stuck with me for a while (it probably helps that GC served as a roadblock for me for a while), and this cover is awesome!
I just keep coming back to this, such a good arrangement of one of the most memorable tunes from the games

The road ahead of Timeflame is coarse is played like a fiddle but the fortress we have been trekking for so long now has it's name and it's history revealed to
our eyes by a physic being who sees both the sun and the moon...
Or is my babbling not making sense to you my dear friend? It's most likely this dreadful heat we have been exposed to.. My legs are thirsty for just one rest...
Oh right! I better explain myself huh? Well... Here's goes nothing...
Our trek begun as we bud a heartfelt farewell to Finch from a few miles from the tundra and after a deserved rest we started heading far to the north across
a rough trail of small mountains. After 2 long days of walking and almost losing our lives to crumbling cliff and hostile Pokemon, we arrived at the entrance to
a awe dropping canyon with gaping lines scribbling across it's cliffs and the sun rising above our weathered and nearly exhausted bodies.
As we trekked into the canyon with our heads held high, Ash spotted many strange drawings scribbled across the walls to which according to strange text besides
them which once deciphered by Mario speak of a deity who apparently can both past and future in both of it's eyes.
It sure did amaze and unnerve my team at the same time... But soon enough we met face to face soon enough....
Ash: 'This canyon sure is... fascinating to witness up close. And it's providing us with some much need shade from this scorching heat!'
Rinstone: 'For one Ash isn't wrong about something! Although... my eyes feel like they are being watched... You lot got that feeling too?'
Typic: 'It's probably the dreadful heat we have been going through for some time now Rin... My throat is killing my back ever so slowly...'
We continued onwards but slowly but surely the heat caused us to lost our way and our tongues were slowly begging for a sip when they came out... But thirst
presented us another problem... our lack in awareness...
Ash: 'ugh... I'm so delirious... that even me eyes can't see our direction... I think we are terribly... lost...'
Loke: 'You think... we didn't knew that? Our water supplies are bone dry and without a resupply we will turn to bones ourselves soon enough!'
Typic: 'Don't lose focus team.... We still need to keep our.. eyes open.. Damn it! I need a sip badly ugh ugh ugh!'
Mario: 'This is what happens when you lot drink your rations too quickly ya bassoons! I warned ya lot before we went down!'
The Others: 'SHUT IT MARIO!'
Mario: 'Just saying... 'sighs' '
Ash: 'Hey guys... is it just me or... do I see a well up ahead? Or am I just imaging?'
Rinstone: 'No you're not! There is a well up ahead! and it's looks to been dug pretty deep!'
Typic: 'We're SAVED!! Cmon! Last one is a Slowpoke!'
We ran towards our saving grace and hope for survival but for some reason Mario hang back to which we found out the hard way...
Mario: 'A well filled with water in the middle of nowhere with no buildings or shacks in sight can only mean one thing... It's -'
TRIP! GRAB! SANG!
A/R/T/L: 'WOAAAAH!!!'
Mario: 'A trap... oh boy... you lot alright up there in that net!?'
Ash: 'YOU THINK WE'RE OK IN THIS PAINFUL MESS!? CUT US DOWN AND QUICK!'
Mario swiftly ran toward the sprung trap but right before she was able to cut it she saw a large number of something approaching and quickly hid behind a rock.
We were wondering why Mario hid away to which we looked down a saw a large group of native Pokemon below us and before you knew it they cut the rope
holding us and grabbed the net we were trapped inside! The pack begged for Mario's help but I knew she would simply perish along with us.
The group took us to some kind of hole inside their village and placed us on a pole designed to lower us into something... Then the group's leader started to speak...
???: 'Today my fellow folk, we have achieved truly scared tributes to send to our eyes of sun and moon beyond our realm!'
Rinstone: 'Eyes of sun and moon!? Typic! I think those drawings we saw are of these manic's deity! What are we going to do!?'
???: 'We shall begin our ritual! Lower the net and send our tributes to the Razor Pit!'
'The Razor Pit!?' we all shouted as we gulped and looked down as the net lowered downwards and upon closer inspection it was filled with Sharpedo swimming in
the water to which we were headed! We started screaming and panicking for help to which... no response... As the net grew closer to the pit, we were
about to say farewell to each other... Until the screech came out...
'KKKKWWWWWWAAAA!!!' 'The deity does not approve of this crime against our fellow travellers!! Release them at once!'
???: 'OF COURSE!! OUR DEITY HAS SPOKEN! BRING THEM UP AND CUT THEM LOOSE!'
And they did just that in a few seconds... We blew a sigh of relief until we felt lighter.... and then... ZOOP! we were teleported to the deity the group has
spoken so highly of... And right beside it was... Mario.
???: 'I have been waiting for your group Mario... The group that was once fugitives but has now turned to their home's last hope... Timeflame is it not?'
Loke: 'We owe you our lives um whoever you are... But how do you know our name and actions? Why have you brought us here?'
Xatu: 'I am known as Xatu, I sit on this very cliff every waking sun and every moonlit night and I see all of past and all of future. As for you lot... I have seen
your past actions that have led you here and I see the future of your journey's end being fruitful.'
Xatu: 'I have brought you all here because of your presence being the key to saving those who have wronged you just now... My people... They look to me
for guidance but now they are poisoned by dark thoughts and are now preying on anyone they can find and use bloodshed in order to 'please' me.
Ash: 'That's horrible! But why do we have anything to with this?'
Xatu: 'I am not speaking of you although the group is a part of this journey... I am speaking of the one with the relic...'
Typic: 'Me? you're speaking about me? Can I ask why me and the Platlock are so important to all of this?'
Xatu: '... I know of your loss of the Guildmaster my young friend. You wish to save him and wish to learn the Platlock's purpose yes?
Typic: That is correct and we as Timeflame are seeking a fortress in which he is being held. You know anything?'
Xatu: '... Your Guildmaster... He has been trapped in my home because of these dark thoughts. I know the fortress's name... Do you wish to speak it?'
Typic: 'You wish for me to free your home and your people and I can find and free our Guildmaster with the Platlock's help? Then I shall tie up both
loose ends as you wish with my team by my side. Speak of the ruins's name and we shall march! 'Am I right Timeflame!?'
M/A/L/R: 'Damn right Typic! You are the shining beacon to which you light the path for others!'
Xatu: 'Then It has been settled... I shall call an escort to guide you to the Sun Lake Ruins! Call forth my old friend!'
Xatu brought out an ancient flute from under his wing and soon he blew a somber tune,a being appeared from the sand itself to which when the dust settled
was revealed to be a Flygon! He then spoke...
Vicarage: 'You called for me Xatu?'
Xatu: 'Our saviour has arrived with the friends he has met along his long journey Vicarage. He wishes to ride upon you to the Sun Lake Ruins to tie both
my and his loose ends'
Vicarage: 'I understand... Alright you good folk! Hop abroad! It's going to be a wild ride so you better hold on tight!'
And so one by one we got on Vicarage's back until I was the last but before I got on Xatu spoke one final time...
Xatu: 'Typic... You have grown from a wanted fugitive.... only to be reborn anew as a hero just like the phoenix. Remember this lesson well...'
Typic: 'I shall remember it fondly Xatu... Thank you for everything you have done...'
And so with those word in hand I jumped on Vicarage's back alongside my team... no... my friends and we took off and soared east to our end...
Our end is in sight... I don't know what is waiting for us but as long I have hope and a sturdy heart... I shall be the one Xatu speaks of...
I was once nobody you know... but now... I have a purpose and friends who will help along every corner, trap or hardship I see on my way...
May we see each other in the sunset someday...

This quote run deep in my blood ever since I laid my eyes on the Great Canyon all those years ago... 'Sighs' How I wish for those times again...
But I know we can't stick to the past. We need to move on from failure to become someone better... Someone anew...
I shall stick to you like a true partner would do. We laugh... We will build... And we shall celebrate our triumphs together...
We are close to a chapter's end for Team Timeflame.... But soon a new tale will be born soon enough... Just wait and see...

Since I'm not to familiar with the whole games and soundtracks, its pretty cool to hear a song I know well from the first game and remake =)
this truly screams "Its time to explore a terra with rocky mountains, craters and dangerous pokemon who stand in our way" what a lovely and epic cover of this song, the adventure feeling is on point :)
I like the lute-like instrument you used for some passages and the percussion is truly pumping!

Wait, you were a torchic with a mudkip partner? That’s awesome! There was actually a manga of this game called “Gengi’s Rescue Team” which had team. Ironically, I had the same team, just reversed with me being the mudkip. Ah, good times…

This may be the most beautiful thing I've every heard. this has always been my favourite pmd song of all time and you're rendition genuinely gave me chills the entire way through. If you have a conductor's score and sheet music for this I would be very interested!!

Dang, I’m not sure how I missed this one, but holy cow the instrumentation choice for this one was outstanding! Forgive me for not knowing what the instruments are that play together at 0:45, but they sound so organic to the environment, and the choice of softer drums really seals the deal! I also love the little flutter of wind instruments at 2:00, a very nice addition! Overall, one of my favorite reimaginings of one of my favorite Mystery Dungeon tracks! Keep up the fantastic work!
