- An arrangement of the Great Canyon theme from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team. This tune has always been a favorite mine, and is something I've been wanting to arrange for a long time.
I finally got around to making a SoundCloud, so I will upload all my more modern arrangements, as well as original compositions, on there. As always, I appreciate comments as they are a good source of motivation.

At first i thought "huh this is a bit depressing for the great canyon" but the build up after that is amazing :)
Why is it that the Mystery Dungeon series has better music than the main Pokemon games? Did the creators just decide to try harder for these games or something?
kittyqueen9000 Just different styles for the games. Pokemon's main music matches what's happening: Trainer battle theme - friendly battle against another trainer. Legendary theme - Climactic battle against a powerful Pokemon. Champion Theme - everything you've worked for has been for this, it all ends now.
Compared to the MD Themes which are: Great Canyon: Climbing an ancient hill to find out a mystery of who you are. Sky Tower - this is for the fate of the world, and your last adventure. Primal Dialga's theme - Climactic battle for the FATE OF THE WORLD. It's all about tone, and it all matches.
+GalenandCodyLPs also, different composers. to be honest both have their moments- pokemon b&w borrows heavily from mother three, which has definitely one of my favourite OSTs ever.

GalenandCodyLPs Honestly makes me wish there was a main series game set in the same type of world as the PMD games. Ancient and mysterious and a big focus on adventure and exploration, but still retaining the aspects of catching pokémon and battling other trainers.
Jakob Gåre sounds like that would fit a pokemon region based on south america and central america bigger than any region seen bigger than kanto and jhonto were

Dude I know I'm many years late on this, but this is a really beautiful and cool take on the original. Love the little liberties you took and extra elements you added in. That extra string melody from like 1:06 to 1:29 is gorgeous. Awesome job

I replayed through Red Rescue Team recently and one of the reasons was so I could listen to this song with more context. I didn't remember Great Canyon at all but when I played the game again I realized why it was so popular.

It was actually a pretty decent place to grind for money earlier on in the game. It wasn't uncommon to find stacks of 200 or more.
Also, the music is great.

J'ai adoré ce jeu, premier jeu vidéo pokémon que j'ai eu et premier jeu qui m'a fait pleurer... J'aimerais tellement pouvoir y rejouer, j'en ai que des bons souvenirs. Et quand je découvre que Guill a fait une série combinant Minecraft, mon jeu vidéo préféré, et Loup-Garou, un jeu que j'adore, j'étais hypé. Si on m'avait dit en plus qu'il utilisait des musiques de ce jeu fantastique...

Are these soundfonts? Because they sound awesome nonetheless. I'm experimenting with soundfonts and an orchestral library, which doesn't sound as clear. It seems as if everyone is jealously guarding their audio mastering/equalisation skills.

This is so beautiful. What are the instruments?
Um...Piano...xylophone(?) Violin, Drums, Bass drum, flute, Triangle(the metal one that is used as an instrument) and that's all I can think of.
Piano is definitely an instrument, I believe it is a marimba making the xylophonish noises, a violin is definitely used, along with backup strings, a triangle, drums of course, a flute, and another kind of flute that makes the weird part at around 3:13
