Just want to say I recently came across your recipe and made it yesterday. It was soooo good. I simmered the meat an hr and a half. It was perfect. Its the best pepper steak Ive ever had. My family and friends are still talking about it. Thank you!!
I make this in my pressure cooker with steak cut like stew meat. Brown the meat and put in cooker with garlic, beef broth, soy sauce, onions, and peppers. Put all in the pressure cooker and cook with pressure regulator moving slowly. Cook for 35 minutes, let the pressure drop until there's no more steam. Thicken with soy sauce and corn starch. We eat this over mashed potatoes and the peppers have turned into a wonderful gravy! So Delicious and quick!
Best pepper steak ever! I used all red and green bell peppers for a Christmasy feel. The meat was sooooo good, compliments all around. Will make again and again, thanks Wolfe!

I used NY Strip Steak cause that's what I found at Trader Joe's, a rainbow of bell peppers [ yup all colors !] I sautéed the onions cause I like slightly soften and caramelized onions That brown gravy Wow!!! I impressed myself! So tasty! I will most definitely do this again and add to my repertoire of recipes . Thank you !!!!!
Made this a few days ago. Just now awoke from a beef, rice and soy coma. Whodathunk, stewed tomatoes...but I don't argue with results. Very nice, mr wolf pit! My wife and I are big fans-I'm a former multi-decade veteran chef and you would've made a great cook. You approach recipes with intuition and the biggest thing : you stop to think what something you're adding will do to the whole instead of just chucking stuff in willy-nilly. So, as a former professional chef, I salute you ! /but seriously man, I love black pepper but WOW!!!

Thanks for the upload, Larry. My grandma used to make my family Chinese Pepper Steak exactly like this and serve it over a bed of steamed and buttered rice. How I miss it so much! Your's looks great and probably tastes as good as my Grandma's. I hope to try making this one day.

I made this last night. I knew this would be good, but I had NO IDEA! IT WAS DELICIOUS!! I literally said as I was eating it..."I can't believe I went this long without making this!" My family loved it just as much! There wasn't a drop left. I served it over white rice and for the steak, I used sirloin tips. I sliced them thin & against the grain. The steak was so incredibly tender, the sauce was perfection. I will surely make this again! (and again & again) :)
I just discovered this recipe though I've been subscribed to the channel for years. I tuned the dish with adding a small can of very dark lager beer (Czech Staropramen), some tomato paste and chili flakes to make it even tastier. Highly recommend!

You and i definetely agree on the lean meat theory. This pepper steak looks great Larry, and even though it has to be cooke longer due to marbling/connective tissue, etc... the taste of the final product is great. It's like filet mignon that has no fat or flavor, if you do not marinate it and wrap it in some fat like bacon, it literally has no flavor, and the price is ridiculous, it is usually the most expensive cut of beef on the cow. It may be the most tender cut, but it has the flavor content of a plain dried rice cake,lol.
