I was 24 when I purchased this album. I have it still and play it often. Such genius in its arrangements with those beautiful voices. SO much better than most of what is out there today. The lyrics are so unique and memorable. I'll be 80 next year, and I will play this as long as I'm here to do so.
I can remember as a little girl, my parents putting this record on the hifi and dancing in the living room… such a fantastic way to grow up. #Brasil66forever
I remember this album from when I was just 6 years old. My father had it and played it and I loved everyone of their songs throughout my life and listened to their songs every now and then. Their smooth silky beautiful voices are so exquisite to listen to! I still remember the lyrics to every one of their songs. I'm 62 years old now and forever a Sergio Mendez & Brasil 66 fan for life!
He has now just passed away in Los Angeles! Love all of his brilliant music! All of these songs have been my favorites! May God bless you forever as your songs bring heavenly joy to us all down on earth!
I just heard of his passing on the news last night and I had to look up his songs that I hadn't heard in a long time. My favorite is Mas Que Nada, don't know the words but wow, the memories it brings up. I was just a kid and my dad loved this song. Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66: I think these are some of the greatest love songs ever written and performed. They are so personal and beautiful. You want to experience every word. I'm not sure if Sergio followed this beautiful path with his later recordings, but these songs are unique and breathtaking. World Class!
Good old songs, I used to hear so long ago, that are still very good to hear. The girl's voices are very good, so is the chorus, and the music is great too.
As many of the viewers I too was captured by Brazil '66 years ago. I find them timeless. Beckons us to a calmer time and space to breathe again. Gracias!
This was a style of music I would have never listened to or picked up on my own. But in the 1960s I was in the Navy and the intercom on the ship I was serving on was always blasting with Sergio Mendes. I didn't like it at first, being a hard rocker, but I began to listen and realized how wonderfully things were put together and how smooth it was, and became a big fan!
2021. Tickles my brain. Still love it. In 1966 I was seven. I couldn't wait to download on Limewire. Then I would play the album in my taxi circa 2000, And my customers were amazed. I always enjoyed playing cd mixes for my customers. I would make a new cd mix before my shift and play it all night long.
I've been listening since i was 6 years old Excelent style, quality , i can't possibly say enough good things about this music and how it impacted my growing up. It still resonates in a world that has growm more automated and uglier.❤

My condolences to those that have never discovered the great music of Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66...

Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66: I think these are some of the greatest love songs ever written and performed. They are so personal and beautiful. You want to experience every word. I'm not sure if Sergio followed this beautiful path with his later recordings, but these songs are unique and breathtaking. World Class!
Yes a tapestry of love and emotion and Rhythm and the perfect combination I might add musical arrangement perfection
He had a hit in the 80s, 'Alibis', but it sounded nothing like this, more like common pop of that time,
Still wonderful, we saw them last week at Jazz Alley in Seattle, it was a terrific evening. Elegant and sophisticated music. A great treat for us.
that album is one of those things that happen...one in a million. Timeless
How can you help but to be a cheerful person growing up listening to this music? I remember hearing a lot of Sergio Mendes and Paul Mauriat back then.
The best musician since the 60's. All of his songs are great! Still listening this Mar 21,2021
What a great world cup this was!! England🏴
Gracias!
A & M Records Herb Albert presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66. Ahh, now that's it for me. Such talent, such music, absolutely brilliant.
FaBulous as ever . Briliant!
Francesca.
Thanks Mr. Mendes for this wonderful albuns.
My father used to play this music. My brother and I didn't know at the time we were listening to some of the best music ever made.
@dgibbs2173 YESSSsss !! 😊
I am such a fan of this group since I discovered them as a teenager. I also love other Brazilian musicians music.I go to a beach somewhere in my mind.
A time when music was still music. I was 1 year old when when this was recorded. Im now 56 and living the music of Sergio Mendes Brasil 66
I purchased this album at 19 years old and I still have it in my collection. It will never go out of style.
Very nice💕🎶😎👌🏾
This instantly makes me happy. I hope to remember this when I'm in a crappy mood! What great music, feel, arrangements, and joy.
Long live Brazilian music. Special greeting to Jorge Ben Jor. 0:07
I'm 59 now growing up our family parties this album was a must in ever household
R.IP. KING. ❤ THANKYOU FOR ALL THE HAPPINESS🎉😅
Sergio's piano comping is legendary. Him and Bill Evans are masters..
I grew up in the 60's listening to this, and Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, and others.
Wow, if only I could go back in time, hearing this gives me the chills, and good memories!
Every single track on this LP is TOP NOTCH! And timeless, they were just perfect.
This version of Mas que Nada is one of my all-time favorite songs of any genre. I don't speak Portuguese but I learned to sing the lyrics nevertheless lol
RIP Mr Mendes. Your music lifted all who heard it.
My parents used to play this album and danced! I have loved it since childhood! And, introduce people to it! Everyone else loves it too! The whole album is fantastic! Thank you so very much mom and dad!❤️🙏

Mi hermana mayor que ya se adelantó le gustaba mucho una estación de radio aquí en México que era 620 y ahí tocaban esa hermosura de música ya pasó más de 55 años y para mí es música celestial
“Y en 620, la música que llegó para quedarse”
Sergio Mendez, A Music Legend.
Fantastic music! Lani Hall! What a voice!
Te fuiste eras uno de los grandes de la musica mundial, also la copa por ti desde Costa Rica
My mom played this ALL THE TIME. She had good taste 😌 in music 🎶 🎵 😌 😏 😍
What a great sound no one could better
One of my favorite albums of all time!!
RIP SERGIO THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES ❤❤❤❤❤❤
