Depends on the Yokai. Hitting their back is always a good choice. Yoki/Amrita Fiend = hit their horns with High Stance light attack Namahage = the same, but they are taller and quicker so it could be very hard Cyclops Oni = attack their back or hit their eye Raven Tengu = attack their back and dodge their back kick Onyudo = same with Tengu, but dodge their back tongue attack instead Wheel Monk = hit their back head and then use a stationary damage skill (Reaper for Kusarigama, for example) or a high damage attack Karakasa Umbrella = be aggressive, they are staggered by attacks. If they are aware of you, get ready to block and then dash towards them Umi bozu and "slime" enemies = block and attack their nucleus on the top, or simply throw a fire bomb at them Flying Darts = they are easily staggered by attacks, just be aggressive and attack their back if possible Oni Bi = low stance attack from a safe distance, or throw a kunai/shuriken to make them fall and open for a final blow Magatsu Warrior = attack their back and destroy their secondary arms Fox = keep blocking and circling, or be aggressive as hell Skeleton Warrior (big one) = wait for them to attack and then outspace with powerful skills, or simply attack their back Rokurokubi = hit their back and avoid their reaction grab/attack
Cyclops: wait for body slam move, then hit the head Onyudo: bait the charging moveset, then dodge sideway. A one-hit insta Ki if it the wall/obstacle Rokurokubi: staggered it by depleting Ki, then aim for head
One good tip and hinted in game is for the Amrita demons (Regular Yokai with huge crystals on the back), they always have one element assigned and common sense would tell you to use a different element, but using their own element overcharges them and insta kills them, this is usefull because the game pretty often throws those flotating skulls with the same element as the Amrita demon nearby, with the skull elemental buff usually 2 hits are enough to overcharge them, on fights were you engage multiple enemies this quickly removes them making the encounter way easier.

It doesn't really matter what the umbrella guy's weak point is, you can stagger them with almost any kind of attack, so just get close enough to hit them and the stun-lock them to oblivion. Those Raven Tengu's though, THEY are the real challenge, since I can't figure out where their weak point is, and they have so much health and can hit pretty hard.
You can block your way to victory against them and hit them in the butt :) ..but raven combined with ghost girl, only god can help you. I have die trying on sub mission against them more times than i have died oh most bosses combined. The ghost girl alone is easy but if u turn your back on her for 1 second you are dead meat. This pair made Ornstein and Smough look like a joke lol
@@knsvmvgo for the “ghost girl”, or flying bolt first. Weaker, but if left alone will slowed you down, makes the fight harder. Recommended to use Odachi or Axe, then switch to other weapons to deal with Tengu

They have very fast reaction, so Low Stance is a good choice (or a powerful, fast skill). If you're behind a Tengu, they only react by kicking you. If you keep circling them and dodging the kick, you can kill easily.
Lol idk man after the update nioh is a real challenge i mean the devil with sword or the big skeleton with armour and an axe looks like the bridge ghost boss, for real ! the spider from the nest is even harder than the damn woman spider boss itself. I mean nioh now for PC(idk for consoles) is crazy !

The weak point for Tengu enemies are their wings. You can break them to down/ground them for a short time and they regenerate. Based on my observations, any yokai in this game with Amrita colored parts have weaker defenses on those parts when hit (and some if not many of them actually have those as weak spots like the fire wheel and the yoki types. the tengu have faint Amrita colored parts at the base of their wings too afaik). Also, a good thing to note is that many enemies here (including some bosses like the toad) who are either humanoid or use humanoid moves/weapons are often right-handed meaning they will hit you easier when you dodge right when face-to-face with one, as opposed to dodging to your left. Even tongue yokai miss when you dodge left around them while they can still hit you with their tongue if you dodged right around them.
Hm, thank you. I recently got the game and I'm being trashed by the standard horned oni in the first real mission of the game. I noticed they staggered more easily aiming for their faces, but I didn't realize it was specifically the horns.
Two things, wind actually debuffs the enemy's attack rating by a large margin(more than 50%) and earth allows you to do twice as much ki damage on enemies with the debuff. There is a lot of misinformation around on the elemental debuffs lol, but these are the correct ones. I usually use dual katanas with 20 wind on it and the mystic art that gives you defense when you attack along with lifedrain on high stance, the liondog for more lifedrain and skill buff then I use water sword. This basically makes me a tank that shreds. Maybe change the guardian spirit to the Deer, that one gives a defense buff and hyper armor. So many things you can do in this game I love it.

Are you sure about wind ? I think what it actually does is lower their attack ? Of course that is not amazing since you don't want to get hit in the first place , but in a long drawn out fight it can be good. In the oda nobunaga an yuki onna dual bossfight my damage I noticed when I get wind debuffed goes from 300 to 400 to only doing between 100 and 200 damage. That's a pretty big difference. Not sure if all wind debuffs do that. The only other enemy who can actually wind debuff you, without letting him do it is the tengu with the retarded wind wave thingy , but I don't remember seeing a damage difference when hit by that one.

Bait them to use 3 combo, then goes in for hit. If you’re fast enough, spam projectile while it’s airborne - Ki damage higher
But I can't kill the ninja Yoki that has a kusrigama he's super hard and I die many times fighting him

Actually all enemies have multiple attack patterns, once you learn their patterns you can exploit their weakness and destroy them

Umbrella yokais weakness is blocking. If you block their dumb needle attack you can follow up quickly and decimate them

Tips? Use spear, mid stance , heavy attack. And just abuse it, no human/ yokai can get close if you use it properly
Tip: Lure it near to a shrine, it cant follow you there. Then use the rifle or bow to shoot it down :D
