    The one thing I would watch out for is social media can "select" for certain opinions. Start with an idea and then _search out_ the specific people that would benefit from that idea and try to share it with them first. The main thing I would warn people against is becoming "audience captured" by people they didn't even care about to begin with but now have no choice but to design their product for.

      @@tiffanyonwudinanti Perhaps another way to put this is, you should only ever allow user feedback to inform what kinds of features and at what prices you should provide. But never allow user feedback to tell you what your "business philosophy" is. Start a business for a particular reason, communicate that reason, and listen to feedback insofar as it is users informing you how you can better help them in service of that reason. BUT, don't let users _pick your reason for you._

    • @restfulstillness2274
      @restfulstillness2274 8 днів тому

      @@benbowers3613 While I agree, this also may be at odds with what people are willing to pay for. You would need to spend a lot of time trying to see what language persuades people to become invested in what you have to offer. This may not come directly in the form of typed feedback, but it may come in the form of views and data metrics, which are harder to decipher due to confounding factors like the randomness of social media algorithms.

      People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

    The point about building an audience before productizing your offer is spot on. One tactic often overlooked is leveraging existing online communities related to your niche to validate your ideas and build your initial user base, which can dramatically reduce market entry risks and initial marketing costs. Remember, engaging with these communities genuinely is key; it's about adding value, not just broadcasting your message.
