      Yes. Even better with regular meditation. Creation is a process we surrender to as artists. The work does itself, through us, as we prepare for and allow it. Make space for the energy to enter and expand, grow and take on a life of it's own.

    When I was younger I worked for a legal publisher and I had gone to a conference and when I got back I had little time to get my issue together and I wrote like seven articles in one day. I usually wrote two per day. I was so locked in it was unbelievable. Flow state is real and I try and work in blocks to maximize it. Great video as always.

    Spot on! as Alex Hormozi said "do it like your life depends on it, because it does" and Dan has further explained it in the finest way possible. Doing it under a stress is exactly the way you achieve it. Otherwise, you end up in an entropy cycle.

    I hardly ever comment on any videos but, you hit a nerve! The whole Ads, Ads, Ads, thing... I feel that what has held me back is the fear of criticism of what others will think of me or say about me (yes I know it's silly! But it's a shackle non the less). I remember hearing Frank Kern saying something along the lines of, "Don't worry about ass clown_69's, comment on twitter." Meaning don't give power to people that are not important in your life. And your explanation of how everyone is selling something makes all kinds of sense! I am sure you get this all the time, but... Thank you for sharing this with us that needed to hear this.

    I have literally lived my entire life like this lol I'm particularly notorious for not packing for a trip until literally the night before I have to leave, and still always bringing everything that I will need 😅 I have recently come to realize that it's a superpower as well, and have often found myself wondering how I can take "that thing" in me that causes me to do so well in a time crunch, and apply it to the rest of my life so that I can finally have lasting success. I'm going to re-watch this video many, many times. Thank you.

    Dan, I feel what you are describing as procrastination in the video is, in fact, the 'incubation' period to generate insights. A creative process go through 5 stages: 1. Preparation 2. Incubation 3. Illumination 4. Implementation 5. Evaluation. We always need a specific time for each stage (Input, Process, Output). Normally, when we are 'procrastinating', we are processing and assimilating the information (input) to synthesize an output (insight). Procrastination, as you mention, without previous preparation (proper accumulation of info/knowledge), does not lead to greater mental clarity, but to laziness and confusion (it is in this format that the term “procrastination” got its bad reputation).

    • @ladonwilliams1333
      @ladonwilliams1333 Місяць тому +2

      Thank you for sharing this. I think you hit the nail on the head. Creativity is often misunderstood (and to a degree demonized) therefore the process is misinterpreted. I go through the phases you noted here naturally, but never had the vocabulary to ‘qualify’ them like this. So, again, thank you for sharing this insight!!!

      I used to think like this until I found out I was stuck in the same place for 15yrs, living the creative process and doing as much as I could.
      When I put this kind of pressure on myself I realized that the creative process can happen in a day, or even in a few hours, and the work comes out great.
      Giving myself a lot of time was procrastination, although I would like to give it other names like phases of the creative process 😅

    I'm focused on a new life changing habit. I recall in one of your videos you mentioned that if you don't like your environment....then change it. So I did by renting shared co working office space. The first version of me becoming a future business owner is getting up at 0530 am (first habit) to work on my one person business then later in the afternoon I switch to wearing the rat race hat to working second shift. (I play two roles) The great thing about this is the transition I've set in motion. My goal is to transition 100 percent to the first part of the day going full time in my on line business. It's a lot of work as I also develop a new mindset habit that conditions me during this transition. The time walk into that office I have control of my time and what I do. No boss to answer to as I could leave early if I want. (That felt liberating). While in the second half of the day I rent my time with labor according to their plan. This is how I'm turning my vision into reality. My office environment helps me focus as I transition away from my rat race job I want to be free from. Rather than build someone's brand I'm also building my own. 😊

    I love learning but i never went to school since i was about 8 but since i was able to read i was able to self educate. I have many things i would like to do but dont know what to commit to. I also feel i over think and analyse things aswell as obsess over learning things. I understand what to do but at the same time i dont know how to do.....? Is that a situation where i need actual practical practice? Another thing whats against me or maybe makes things more difficult is because i never went to school its like i am unable to socialise and get burnt out easy like i can only concentrate on one thing in a day. They say recently ive got autism depression and i see somethings thatbmake me beleive i also am dubious these conditions actually dont excist,but are a product of life and the other just a personal trate. I was on drugs for a very young age but been off it all for 2 1/2 years. I justwanted to give a bit of background for context. Lately ive isolated myself as everyone i know just takes drugs or are just happy working a job i hate and talking about fight, shagging, taking drugs and crap in general. Ive been learning diffrent things but mainly out of interest. How do you take the next steep and get actual practical experience and decide what you want. I know thats long winded but it scares me thinking about my life being how it is i ten pluss years. I'd rather be dead. Id be happy with a simple life but with purpose and travel and also travel my most ideal job in conservation with endangered animals. Im 34 with lilited qualifications only ones from prison. Please give aome advice anyone sorry for the long text. But hopefully there's many people like this. Most things i like aint people orientated. I want few quality friends i can give my life for

    The big things is that often crrators overhype the "value" that they bring. Rarely there is a real value there and just because creators think they create value, more often than not its noise, not value.
