- Southern People love chocolate just like the rest of the world. Cadbury may not be one of the top two confectionaries in the U.S. but Americans always buy some around Easter. This episode we're going to TRY some of the most popular candy bars from Cadbury, the world's second largest chocolatiers.

Americans saying our chocolate is to sweet is hilarious.
And then poor syrup on bacon and put it on pancakes in the morning😆👍
Also nonsensical claptrap no my American friend what you are tasting is actual sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, so it actually made with real ingredients instead artificial crud.
I mean it's probably because they're used to eating nothing but corn syrup instead of real sugar
@@markopolo1271 i wonder if the Americans class as corn-fed because of that?
I wish they would stop British chocolate is miles better than American puke to sweet ha ha the best British 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Did he just say an American twix? No no no! Twix originates in England, it is not and will never be American.
He did, but Mars make the North American market share of twix in cleaveland Tenesee, so technically, theirs is an American twix due to their terrible food laws, which allow food manufacturers to make stuff so cheaply and cut many, many corners whereas if they shipped from their Europe market manufacturer is the Netherlands they would be spending way more as we have extremely strict food laws (as we both know) trust me I was shocked to see twix in the US and picked one up... its terrible 😂
You haven't lived till you've tried a white twix!! UK chocolate blows US kid on stuff out the water 😅
@dweebsngeeks we will look for this!
Calm down Twix police
Stick a Flake in a Ice-Cream Cone and you have what we call a "99" .
We'll have to TRY it!
@SouthernTriedChannel
Not without monkeys blood. It's a North East England thing 🎉
@@oopsdidItypethatoutloud
With a sprinkling of crushed nuts.
@@oopsdidItypethatoutloud sounds yummy

With hundreds and thousands... what else
And if you don't know what they are, you have my sympathy
The best thing to do with a flake is before you open it smash it up in the packet, then pour all the crumbs and dust into a bowl of ice cream.
We'll be sure to do this next time!
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, with some caramel sauce dizzled on top too... YUMMY
Twirl is folded chocolate covered in chocolate, flake is melted chocolate that is poured in a tray, then left to dry and then shaved into a pile.
Fun fact: - Hershey added butyric acid to the milk to prevent it going off so quick.
Butyric acid is found predominantly in baby vomit.
This is why I felt like I had thrown up in my mouth the first time I ate chocolate in Florida.
Most American foods have had loads of nasty chemicals added to them which is why a lot of US foods are banned in Europe.
I guess somebody forgot to tell American kids not to play with their food.
✌❤🇬🇧
I was really looking forward to my first Hershey bar when I went to Florida 25 years ago with my parents. Very disappointed I never finished it.
Yup, family holiday to Florida, excitedly bought a bag of Hershey kisses, tried one and was convinced they had spoiled...
it always astonished me that they get fat kids... that chocolate is so bad it would make you eat kale by choice
@@andyf4292 😂😂😂
They get fat because even their kale has loads of chemical additives in it. 🤪
Butyric acid was first isolated from butter, hence the name. It really does smell very strongly of vomit; we used tons of the stuff at one of my previous employers.
Not bird seed, it’s rice crispies in the double decker.
Yeah, Uk person here. Great to see you try our chocolate bars! You’d love a Crunchy bar!
Important video! Great confectionery great people.
Our Friends came over from South Carolina and brought a supply of what we’d called Angel delight.
I was disappointed by the legendary Hershey bar.
Get that guy in the hat a Fry's dark chocolate cream bar, the very first chocolate bar 🍫 ever invented.
I think he'll like it. 😂
We’ll work on that
That’s utterly vile and SHOULD be sold to Americans.
Frys peppermint cream on the other hand……
They do orange, raspberry and strawberry creams, as well as the peppermint. I also happen to like the original version and I still wish they'd reintroduce the "5 Centres" multi flavoured bar they did years ago.
@@TheCornishCockney well now I HAVE to feed it to our TRYers.
@@obijon7441 I’ll be on the lookout for them to TRY.
It’s soft but hard… I have that problem every weekend…. Brilliant 😂
Was looking for this comment 😂
The aeration allows the chocolate to melt faster in the mouth and release the aroma
It's the same principle as the bubbles in an Aero or a Wispa.
Cadburys flake has been in production since 1070 and the UK adverts for it were legendary . The slogan was “Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate tastes like chocolate never tasted before
The Flake was first produced in the early 1920's, the Twirl didn't arrive for another 60odd years in 1985.
English guy here, when the gent spoke about a dark chocolate twirl I was onboard 👀
Flake is best eaten with ice cream
We will have to TRY it again with ice cream.
@SouthernTriedChannel it is an actual staple in the UK, you go to any ice cream vendor in the UK and they will have it , it's called a 99
@@SouthernTriedChannel Not just ANY ice cream- it's got to be soft serve
This will be more difficult but it’s still on the list!
Mr Redcap do not disrespect our Cadburys, 😠
The flake came before the twirl and wispa bars. It is fantastic with ice cream, we have a 99 it is a cone of soft vanilla and a flake sticking out of it ( delicious). As for the "bird seed" it is a cereal. Your chocolate has far more sugar in than ours.
Thanks for the info! All tastes are different. Most of our TRYers liked them!
It's ok Kraft fooked Cadbury when they bought them, but it's still better than US version...
starbar is my absolute favorite chocolate bar, I very rarely eat chocolate but when I do it's always a starbar
It was the Star of the show
I bet redcap shouts Yeee haa at passing motorists.
I’ve seen him do it!
@@SouthernTriedChannel 🤣🤣🤣
The men saying they’re too sweet shocks me. They can’t seriously mean sweet, maybe rich? I’d imagine American chocolate is way sweeter than ours.
They don’t like American chocolate either
Starbar is my go to 🏴
In Australia Macca’s serves vanilla ice cream cones with a flake.
Yes mate, in the UK we call it a 99.
I think it's because long long ago it cost 99 pence.
Costs a shit load more now.
@@coot1925 Originally it would cost you roughly 30-40 cents. Today $1.15.
@@djgrant8761 bloody inflation. 😂✌❤🇬🇧
@@coot1925 I know. It was so much better in the late 80s early 90s.
@@djgrant8761 everything was better before the Woke Brigade started trying to force us to talk complete bollocks, which I simply refuse to do.
I'm not going to be told at 62 that I have to go along with their bullshit lies.
It's so weird that their least favourites are our favourites in the UK.
Yeah a Twix comes from England, 1967, was introduced to the US in 1979 lol
Skyla is my spiritual grandaughter.
I absolutely adore her, but I am amazed she didn't care for the Cadbury's Flake.
She might like it better if she tried one in a " Ninety-Nine ", which is a cone-shaped wafer holding a dollop of ice-cream ( vanilla works best ) with a flake stuck in it.
We may have to TRY that!
@@SouthernTriedChannel You'd love it.
Traditionally we'd have half a Flake stuck in a Mr Whippy ice cream cone in the summer
Should've found a Curly Wurly or some Scottish sweets/candy like a Wham Bar theyre so good
The flake is what we would normally put with ice cream
We may have to reTRY it!
That wee Ginger Lassie should totally play the Artful dodger in a stage production of Oliver. Her English accent is on point lol.
It's a good attempt for an American but it wouldn't fool anyone in London.
It's Dick Van Dyke level
Errrm......she serously shouldn't.
I got way too excited at just seeing a picture of a Starbar.
I love Cadbury! So good!
I was born and live in the UK and Cadbury doesn't even taste the same. Your American company who now owns Cadbury have ruined our Cadbury Chocolate.
The flake belongs in vanilla ice-cream.
We’ll have to TRY that.
Skyla’s British accent makes me laugh 🤣 it’s good but I don’t know anyone here that talks like that 🤣
Shhhhh, just let her be cute so we can all adore it.
Its an old london accent
The guy in the red hat and the girl with red ish hair made me laugh 😂 lots of personality!
Should've got the scrunchie bar and the wispa bar. Crunchie is like a honeycomb butterfinger but the texture is 1000x better. Wispa is aerated chocolate with air bubbles. Like twirl but even better.
That and a Fry's Turkish delight. Those are the English bars.
We take what we can find over here. Next time!
To really appreciate a Flake you need to eat it with ice cream, then we're talking!
The flake is often used stuck in ice cream.
We’ll have to TRY it!
Starbar is GOAT
The flake came first then the twirl.
Bite either end of the twirl, and suck hot chocolate or coffee through it then eat, Scrumptious
Best thing about a double decker is eating the nougat and throwing the rest at somec**t you don't like
😂
I can safely say, bollocks is used extensively in my day to day use. Great to hear bollocks popping out of our American cousins mouth
She says it all the time 🤣
Too sweet - Lol
Your Milky Ways are our Mars Bars, British Milky Ways are totally different to your Milky Ways
Your Milky Way seemed to be close yo our 3 Musketeer bar.
@@SouthernTriedChannel ye apparently they are
I heard we have the same things with different names, it get confusing.
Episode coming up, we’ll be TRYing some of your candy that’s similar to stuff we have here.
I laughed when Skyla tasted the Double Decker and said it felt like little balls on her tongue. She seemed too young to know.
Baby Skyla
Prober uk chocolate bars star bar top of the list. Loved the soft and hard comment about the double decker 😂😂😂😂
I can tell straight away that they’ve just got all of these chocolate bars out of the fridge, they were all rock hard, should’ve at least waited until they defrosted abit, completely different experience lol
They were NEVER refridgerated.
@@SouthernTriedChannel oh ok my bad, you should definitely do a part 2 to this with the Crunchie bar, Boost bar, Mars bar, Bounty bar and the Bueno bar

I don't mean any offence but last time i ate American chocolate the taste reminded me of the after taste you get when you vomit.
No offense taken. It’s proven that American Hershey’s has butyric acid in it and reminds many people of vomit.
The additive that put in Hershey is found in babies vomit Hershey as less cocoa butter content so in the stores in Europe & Uk are sold as chocolate flavoured bars
@@patriciacrangle8244 Yum, chocolate flavoured bars 🤢

The crumbliest flakiest chocolate never tasted before. is the advert for flake .
starbar is the best, nothing can beat it
Put a flake in an ice cream 😋
You've got a Twirl and a Flake? A Twirl's just a poor man's Flake. And, a Starbar?! Who in the UK has ever eaten one of those. Stronger options available.
We’ll have to TRY more!
Are these actually shipped in from the UK. As some Cadbury products bought in the USA are not actually Cadbury chocolate.
They are from the UK.
Here in Australia, we grew up with these Cadbury products so they are very familiar. The sizes of the UK products appear slightly smaller though.
Our first Australia episodes coming soon!
The reason is Cadbury are making the bars smaller and trying to keep the price down. We in the uk all know this.
Flake is ment to go with ice-cream
I'm more a savoury than a sweet person and I don't eat much chocolate but I am a fan of the Double Decker and the Crunchie if I do want a chocolate bar.
Anyone else scream at the screen and say flake was designed for ice cream
If you don’t know, you don’t know.
Facts about Cadbury flakes is that it won't melt if you microwave it or burn
Because of the way it's made here in England and folded
Sounds suspicious
U should move over here- that stuff is in SHOPS!
Right!?!?
I wanted to lamp the kid saying "little buiscuits" until it said "bollocks"
A Twirl is just a Flake with a jacket.
Americans saying our food is to sweet????!!!??? WTF

Double decker the best
Anyone know a cadbury's bar with bird ssed in it? I can't )
Flake came long before the twirl.
I was just about to say this, over 60yrs later in fact. The Flake was invented in the 1920's but it took until 1985 before they came up with the Twirl.
Noogat 🙈
Our chocolate from England much better
This was chocolate from the UK
You need ice-cream for the Flake!! 🙄 🇬🇧
You say that like we’re supposed to know it!
@SouthernTriedChannel You Should!! You should learn everything about your postcolonial overlords 😁
😂🤣😂 sadly I believe people from the US know the least about other countries.

This is no lie. 😂
American twix? Who’s gonna tell him? Lol
Shhhhh, we didn’t. It’s popular here too though.
Whose gonna tell them twix is english
Shhhhh, not us.
Are these actual imported Cadbury's or the stuff made under license by Hershey's?
Tried some of that once with American friends in London and the aftertaste was really nasty.
By the end,my friends said it’s British chocolate only for them from now on.
They take boxes of the stuff to the US as their families won’t eat anything else!
They’re imported
if you east hershey's not under threat of death your opinion on chocolate is void. Also, blows my mind Americans aka diabetes warriors calling anything too sweet lol pretty sure their tap water has corn syrup in it ;)
Now don’t get tore up that some of our TRYers prefer to eat vomit over your chocolate. Everyone’s tastes are different.
@SouthernTriedChannel 🤣fair enough. Id like to see them try a galaxy/galaxy caramel or wispa gold
@@shanus11 we’ll get on it!
Those were probably not imported. Hershey makes Cadbury in the US. Imported Cadbury is UK-made and tastes less intensely of sugar. The chocolate tastes better too. Lots of taste test UA-cam videos that prove this.
They were imported.
@@SouthernTriedChannel It's a shame they didn't like them :(. Thanks for the reply 😀.

I would take it as flattery coming from Skyla. ❤️
Flake is "THE" best chocolate bar along with Twirl. You're mad!!! Considering American sweets/Candy is layered with sooooo much artificial rubbish which make it sweeter than sugar...I can't believe you're saying th british chocolate is too sweet for you.
