  • Pioneered by Singapore and London, road pricing mechanisms have helped urban areas make significant progress on air quality and supported modal shift in recent decades. More recently, UK cities from Bath to Glasgow have introduced their own road pricing initiatives aimed at improving air quality, resulting in a patchwork of schemes across the country. And, as the share of electric vehicles continues to increase, there is a need to discuss the future role of road pricing policy both in air quality and emissions reduction and as a potential revenue source.
Join Centre for Cities, experts and industry voices for a short presentation on road pricing in practice around the world followed by a panel discussion on the benefits and drawbacks to road pricing and the future of road pricing in UK cities.

Silviya Barrett, Director of Policy and Research, Campaign for Better Transport
    Steve Gooding, Director, RAC Foundation
Presenter: Paul Swinney, Director of Policy & Research, Centre for Cities
