Ed more than likely did a 1 year, one-pay lease. The amount of upfront rebate money on the RS e-tron GT for a lease is $32,500. The one-pay lease component buys down the money factor. The residual value after 1 year (assuming 7,500 miles) and with the addition of Audi Care is 70%. When you discount the car heavily, and apply all rebates/incentives, you get a one-pay lease amount of around $3,000-$5,000 for the entire year (including tax/license fees). When he quotes a $250/month lease he is simply dividing the one-pay lease amount by 12 months to give an example of what his cost would be per month. There’s a little more to it, but everyone should now get the picture.
Thank you this helps a lot!
Yeah this makes sense.
I'd lease an E-tron for under 500$/m! 😂
That'd be a situation where they'd have to pay me $500/m to take it!! @@rkan2
Wait that's an insane deal 😂
My first thoughts were:
1. what’s wrong with it;
2. how many times has it be stolen;
3. how many times has it been written off;
It can’t be all there for Ed to buy it.
Always negotiate a deal that allows “giving the future back”.
that is the most sneaky ad i have ever seen on youtube. good job
Today in "stories we never saw coming..."
Ok ok ok what's the name of the porn star that used to own it before it was reposed?? At gunpoint!
Welcome to the darkside. 😂
I saw it coming. Every time someone tells me or I hear them say "I will never own an EV". Turns out very soon after they own one. And most of them love them. Get in one and drive it. I bet it's going to be much better than you ever thought.
@@coreyverisario6570 Who knows, he might just not drive it at all and just profit the taxes
I called and they quoted me $816/ month plus taxes
Thanks! Saved me a call
On an RS?
For leasing or purchasing?
Did you ask them what the money factor was?
Miles, months?
I did a deal like this on a Niro EV for my daughter to drive a few years ago. $150/month all in on a car with a $46k sticker. I saved that much just in gas. Would definitely do it again.
Great deak
I'd like to see the paperwork in that lease. I've been leasing since 1992 and don't believe you for a second.
I can confidently say I did not expect this
Only Ed could make a commercial video that I don’t mind watching.
👍👍
Can’t wait to give the future back 😂😂 Mr Ed Bolian never fails to deliver epic one liners !!!!
Inb4 Ed buys a Tesla to replace it.
I went to Audi Training in Atlanta last year with Nick. Awesome guy. Guy taught me a lot of insight when we went to lunch at the Irish Pub in the walking dead town. Kept brake checking me on the Horch challenge tho😂
sounds like you're talking about Maguire's in Senoia,GA
@@travismorgan3252 that would been it
I wrote 2 of these deals this month.
$500 down
12 months/7500 year
$850 month (including sales tax)
can someone explain the lease deal he got? i’m curious
Thanks for the information Ed and enjoy the car while you have it.
I looked at a 2024 Audi E-Tron GT with 4000 miles that originally was $117,000 but at a Dodge dealership for sale for $51,000. I was shocked it plummeted that much in value in only 4000 miles
i haven't seen one near that cheap but i've def seen a few Audi RS e-trons that have dropped a surprising amount in a short time.
@@gregwasikwell this one wasn’t the RS model but it was crazy that something like an Audi that only had 4000 miles could go from $117,000 to $51,000 that quickly. I was tempted to buy it but I don’t think an electric car would work for me, especially when it comes to charging it.
@@itsnevo8757 yeah i'd consider one too at that price! just looked on carsguru adn cheapest today are 2022s just under $80K. i'd get the Porsche if I got one and they have depreciated like a rock also.
The most annoying thing about the „speeding“ warning, is that speedometers are always showing you going faster from the speed you are actually driving by 2-3 mph at least!
I can't count the number of people on the Audi Facebook groups that have bought or leased E-Tron GT's that couldn't get rid of them soon enough. Without exception, they all went back to gas powered vehicles.
My sister included
I have really enjoyed how fast my tesla is, but if you look on carfax used cars, every single audi etron used has a lemon law buy back title.
Why's that? I see a good number of Porsche Taycans, and I've test driven one, but Audi were such snobby shits they wouldn't let me test drive one even lol.
@@Drunkenvalley Probably because even good EVs are boring as hell to drive. The kind of people that drop 160k on performance luxury cars want an experience like a 911 or an R8. Performance EVs are fun for a week and then 0-60 times get boring and you're stuck driving a golf cart around.
Do they have 15 other cars to drive?
Deal isn't all it's cracked up to be. Why did the new video go private? VAG catch wind of this?
I watched the video earlier and tried to go back and review it and it’s gone. I was about to go to the dealership
@@christophercalderon4792 what was the context of the video? Why were you going to go to the dealership ?
Have a Audi Q4 on loan for a year. Really like it as a daily driver, but it’s definitely not something that’s fun to drive. I just use it as a mobile battery on wheels that I listen to music in while driving with the cruise control on the outside lane.
Really looking forward seeing you at the offroad game!
Was just marathoning Ed’s car stories!
Interesting... Ed's new car was a Landrover. Curious what will motivate his next new car purchase, most probably for a guaranteed quick sale. Awesome YT channel as always Boss B.🎉❤
and selling grey market cars to oligarchs
I called the dealer and am waiting to hear back
Glad Ed is enjoying the Rs etron GT!! looking forward to his review after having it for a year.
Did you have to wear the world's loudest shirt & the brightest loafers you own to qualify for the deal ?
Called local dealers in Atlanta, wasn’t able to come close to this deal.
Why not the Birmingham dealer with the deal?
I love to see the break down. Here bay area of CA best they could do is 800 a month.
I did the same deal at Audi Birmingham. It really does come out at $800 a month. Maybe he was subtracting the savings in gas tires and maintenance he’d have to do on the Mercedes she’s driving.
Definitly did not expect this xD ! But the E-tron GT is a good car you'll enjoy it
My dad bought a 2022 audi Etron suv with 1k miles that was a buy back for 40k a couple months ago. Hes at 3k miles already and loves the thing. Definitely upset about the total milage but its a great daily commuter
Ed trying to help his dealer mates move shit cars
For 250$/m I wouldn't describe them as particularly shit. I could take two, maybe three. And let me guess that is the price they would lease me one car. 😂
well 'etron' literally means 'pile of shit' in French
I can understand when Nissan made the mistake of calling thier car pajero, they are half the way around the world to Spain. But Germany shares it's border with france.heck, vw employs a lot of French workers. Did they willingly ignored it.
Was given an brand new VW golf GTI as a hire car for work trip, I thought cool fun nippy little thing lets go.
The damn thing beeped for over speeding, not being centred in a lane, it would steer away from the lines wouldn’t let you cross unless you indicated so going down UK country lanes was pure scary the car would steer you into a wall rather than cross the centre line . Took me about 20 mins to find how to turn all the “assists” off and to piss me off that little bit extra you had to turn them off every time you started the car
Its for your safety. You are too silly to take control of the vehicle.
I am working on mandatory helmets for car drivers. And for safety reasons, you must drive five miles per hour.
Its awesome. Govern me harder daddy. You Brits show us the way.
I need to see the math on this
The math is after the lease both etrons will be worth less than 90k and somesones gonna have to eat it, no way rebates cover all that
i’d like to see Ed’s deal the actual breakdown ….numbers don’t add up
I called the dealer and they quoted me $9800 plus tax one payment one year 7500 miles. Works out to $816/month
@@charlesovermoyer4480 still not a terrible deal on a $160k car.
@@charlesovermoyer4480 Looks like you didn’t get the Ed Bolian discount. I’m sure none of us will!! 😂
There's been some incredible Mercedes electric deals, like 130k EQSs for under $500 a month
When's the next car trek Ed? It would be great to see you three on the screen together again.
I'm pushing!
@@EdBolian looking forward to it Ed, always enjoy watching the series, have done since the first one 😊
Best of luck on getting one together, now that Freddie and Tyler’s lives have become less hectic.
They should do an EV Car Trek…without support vehicles carrying generators.
Congrats Ed!
I fear a future where those speed warnings become speed notifications to insurance/law enforcement.
It already has started on the insurance side. On one hand you can get cheaper premiums if you drive sensibly. On the other you can't speed much,
More likely is a future where speed limits are just pieces of information for your car to change speed when it drives itself, while you won’t care cause you read a book on the back seat or take a nap.
And the future is now. if you agreed to a tracker in some countrys. The ensurance is redicly low
@vinwiki, there is a TSB to get that warning turned off. Just had it done on mine
You need to bring it in? I just got one of these and I can’t seem to get it off.
Dave Ramsey would be incredibly proud.
Dave Ramsey is a shitty human being who pretends to care, so who cares?
Dave Ramsey's a hack & a scumbag, who treats his employees like shit.
hes a douche that leaves money on the table by not using cashback credit and autopay
Ed, did you install a 240v charger at home? It’s invaluable when you own an electric car.
Welcome to the future, Ed! Did you say "637 hp?" 😳
My 2014 A6 Quattro has the same speed limit warning. Pretty easy to disable. I'm looking forward to the six-month update on this car...
Ed…Sir…. Let’s do a cannonball 🙏❤️😎🤙🛻💨
Definitely a cool car, even though its an EV. the low monthly payment you talked about has me thinking about looking into one, i love the audis style. Another great vid Ed!!!!
Did the other video about this get pulled?
Yeah what happened with that?
Sorry for your loss #Ed.
I’m a gas car snob, but I loved my etron gt. Great car.
Are any of these Audi's still available?
Now that i saw the vinwiki Audi etron gt lease hack video, i totally get the purchase…..and I’m thinking of buying one too!
The problem with that GT is …
.. that it is so sexy looking in person. When have you ever seen a sedan that sexy??
Right! Absolutely gorgeous car.
Should be interesting to see what happens one year from now when all these Audis come off the 1 year lease. They are already hard to sell, as Ed noted. Having a ton of them with 15-20K miles on them should drive the market price into the basement.
Please send an update on your opinion after 1 year of ownership
I don't think I have ever heard anyone use the word behoove in a real sentence before.
You've never talked to a British person?

I have a Tesla and I can so I love it. Never have to worry about turning it off, locking the car it auto locks when it senses you've left, when you're at a red light it pings you. The autopilot I throw on in traffic I don't even focus on the road. 4$ to fill my car my Porsche used to cost me nearly 100$ to fill. The real draw downs are there's no customization so that's why I wrapped it and changed some stuff interior with after market options. Otherwise love the car. Also it smokes like 99% of the cars around even rs5 amg e class etc
Is this deal process still available, I want to pick up a couple.
We need z set update znd this time show us what it looks like please
I'd like to see the numbers on a spreadsheet.
In canada at the moment theirs a 10000$grant on any full ev cars, if you go hybrid you won't get the grant but if you go electric you do save 10k
If electric cars were so great, the government wouldn't need to cut buyers a check to encourage them to buy one.
That's only in Quebec
@@marcol869 also in new brunswick
Has the subsequent Vinwiki video with Nick Explaining his RS E-tron deals has been taken down after only being live for 6 hours? Maybe Audi or dealerships are shuttin' it down, does anyone know for sure? Great to be the first call like Ed. An RS Etron for a year for under 4K would be an amazing deal!!
I really want to see that video
I read this as “E.D. Buys An E.V.” And it sounds cooler that way!
This may be a sign of the end times
I just picked up an rs e-tron gt this past week on a similiar lease structure 🙏
If 4 horseman and a guy on an electric golf cart show up... run!
Can you do a video on where you grew up and went to college unless I missed it?
I think it is more the end of time for the Ed Bolian brand 😢
Boring... 😢
Its rear windsheild and his face 😂😂😂
Got my p85d for 24k with a 4k tax incentives on top of that... the two downsized are tire costs (2k for a set of 4) and insurance is kinda through the roof (600+ hp I guess)
more like, insurance co's write off the cars at the slightest damage, because repair costs and parts availability.
can't get a fender for more than 30 days? totaled.
oh and don't forget $15k+ battery packs
@@johnhufnagelOne of the reasons for the outrageous repair costs from accidents is the huge giga casting parts of the car as well as battery packs that are structural parts of the car. This process saves money on the manufactures build cost it transfers added costs to the consumer by increased repair and insurance premiums. They are working on making the entire underbody from one single piece of cast aluminum. They claim to be working on a solution to more cheaply repair these large one piece castings but I’ve not seen any information on their progress.
Please post all discounts!
I've worked for Glasgow Audi in Scotland for 19 yrs and see plenty of RS GT's. And I have to say the American spec wheels are awful compared to the UK spec cars.
Bruh the ending🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So the new type of deals are to trade an already luxurious SUV that you already own, pay $250/mo on top of that sonin return you can drive an etron fpr a year!
Guess being depressed and broke pays off!
This sounds like the chewbacca defense version of financing a car.
I see Tyler, Freddy and Ed and think here comes Car Trek.
This is not a good sign….
I'd see what it takes to permanently deactivate the silly alarms, they use a hand held device. If she ends up loving it, what's the residual? Anywhere close to reasonable? Can you lay it out in the comments? Thanks Ed!
We rented a 'regular' eTron on a trip a while back. The adaptive cruise control in the Audi is nothing short of brilliant. You just have to dig around in the menus a little bit, and you'll find that you can set an 'offset' from the posted speed limit. I set it to +5.
So, we'd be cruising along doing 50 in a 45, come up on a section posted 35, and the Audi would see the speed sign - display the sign in the gauge cluster, then...
...automatically slow to 40 in a 35...
When the limit went back to 45, it would *automatically* speed back up from 40 to 50.
The ACC in our Volvo recognizes the speed signs, but doesn't actually DO anything about it, other than flash the sign in the gauge cluster...
Audi can actually keep you at your typical "five over" speed 100% of the time.
Nice charging to 80% just like buyin potatoe chips. You get what you get😂😂
Nice shoes Ed. I love the blue 😂
Ed is it technically select financing with a balloon payment at the end?
Yes
There are serious rebates on the Etron GT. I think that says it all.
Depreciation is nothing new to luxury cars. My old BMW M5 dropped 80% in value in 10 years.
Probably dropped reliability 90% in 5 years tho

@@isk1tz Lexus has been intriguing to me but a lot of their line up is coming up on a redesign. I’d love a used Macan, but my brain is telling me I need something that’s a dependable appliance.
I mean, dealerships have these lease programs like this because these trash heaps are "staling" out on inventory overflow lots across the country. It loses it's novelty after about 6 months and just becomes another car you'll want to trade in sooner. Honestly, there's nothing "futuristic" about a series of magnets that spins around a stick, even resurrected and rhetorically propped up on our tax dollars.
Bro relax
These things drive and are as quite inside as a panamera, and they actually have a bass sound and not a humm like the Taycan.

Damn, never thought I'd see Ed buying an EV. Need a garage update to see them
I have been looking for a 12 month lease an E Tron for a while now. Best I’ve seen is around $600. I don’t know how I got it down to $200, that’s crazy.
he did say there were "fees" I guess on a 12 month lease the cost "per month" on the fees is high.
You have to pay the taxes on the price of the car. So $250 a month is probably the amount that goes towards the car the taxes and fees are likely another $600 or so a month.
@@somenygaardthe amount you actually pay on the car over the entire 12 months is only $1k. But the taxes, fees, etc bring the deal to between $11-$12k. I’m in GA so my taxes and fees would be similar to Ed’s. He might have got an advertising break, that dealership told me they’d usually sell four of these cars per year and since this video they’ve done over 40.
Buying an Audi Etron GT as your first EV, is akin to a Toyota buyer buying a Range Rover as their first luxury car. It won't go well.
@edbolian it's a sad sad day when you have an ev setting at your house. As many as there are that catches on fire, I hope you don't park them inside or next to the other cars. I wouldn't own an even before but especially if it beeps at me for speeding
I'm sorry, $250 a month?! Where do I sign up.
What an incredibly broken financial model. Being able to lease a premium EV for Corolla money is utterly insane.
EVs don't come into my radar when brand new, but when one loses 50% after 3 years with maybe 20k miles, the conversation really changes. At under 20k I'll take a 2021 Mazda MX-30, MINI electric, or Honda e. Any resistance about range anxiety suddenly disappears.
I had the chance of driving a 2021 Mini electric. Super fun car, truly loved it, but the range was really bad. Only good if you do short distances. Otherwise, you might wanna focus on the more recent models where the range got considerably better.
Funny I did as well this week and end up stuck ATM with a 02 suburban 2500 that apparently was ordered as stripped out as cheap as you can get 😤.
I absolutely had no idea it could be ordered that way.
