Hi, work at an Audi store. These are great cars to drive…for their short range. Currently they are probably the highest discounted car in the USA right now when you build out a lease for one and even then we struggle to move them.
As an owner of a 2019 Audi e-tron (regular), which I got 2nd hand 1 year ago, I really don’t see why it’s such a major problem to plug in often. It’s still a lot more convenient than having to go to gas stations, let alone pay a fortune for the gas (I have solar). And as you hinted at with Audi, the real world range on long drives is way better than what they advertise. I’ve now done several road trips where I have gotten 290 miles on a charge despite the car supposedly maxing out at 209m. This compared to my 2020 Model Y Long Range, which advertised 330, but rarely ever got more than 220. The fact that Audi has their suspension tuned so well, makes the regular e-tron feel very solid, exceedingly comfortable, and a great balance of ride and handling, despite its insane weight.
I saw one of these lowered with aftermarket wheels at the Walmart in Round Lake of all places. I thought what type of person would buy an expensive car like that and make it look like garbage...then I saw how much they are used and it all made sense.

Great review; as usual. I believe you are bang-on on most points. We have 3,000 miles on our 2023 e-tron GT and we LOVE the driving dynamics, styling and interior. Yes, range could be better but we are fortunate here in Quebec to have a well established fast charging infrastructure. Our Electrify Canada experience has been very good. The only downside is the car's fair share of gremlins including a TMCU which falls into 3G mode too often and a now-resolved brake booster failure. There are 2 pending safety recalls on this model presently: The heat pump (no fix announced) and possibly the shared Taycan/e-tron GT safety recall on some VIN's for the battery sealing. Once we get those two matters resolved - I'm sure we will thoroughly enjoy our ownership experience.
The 2022 models have depreciated to 60k on auto trader. That is pretty good. Wait 1 or 2 more years and it is a great deal. Edit: That is the non-RS model. Still not terrible.
Honestly the RS variant might be overkill for this product, and also the pricing is very optimistic given the Taycan exists. For the price yeah, but if this could be had for $100K the fast charging makes up for not having 500 miles. The Taycan/E-Tron GT actually performed very well in long distance tours.
@@1SmokingLizard Was it a manufacturer buyback? Many of these cars (Both Taycan & e-tron GT) got lemon-lawed during the past few years due to parts shortages.
Just on handling, this non-rs or base/4s taycan? Given the huge depreciation, used market is becoming really attractive to enjoy for a few years before switching to something updated. The inflated msrp settles down nicely on the used market.
Because you're savagegeese, this is the first time I've heard about this car. I don't trust a single word any other reviewer says. You guys are as real as it gets.
Recently commented on another EV video- why harp on MSRP pricing on a car that is pretty much a lease-only proposition subsidized by federal incentives, Audi incentives, Costco discounts and dealer discounts?
Feels like we're in the early '80s for electric cars. They're functional, but just not quite... there. Something about most of 'em is compromised. Range, user interface, charging infrastructure, over the air update shenanigans, etc. Just like buying a performance vehicle back then - they will get better, but as they are... they're a little, well, sad. And the ones that do seem better, they're in another ballpark financially. Rivian, Rimarc, not anything that I can afford without the aid of powerball. Tesla is closest, but their issues with repairability, over the air updates, stupid design choices, and fit and finish still keep me away.
Having owned a Bolt for the past 2 years, I can count on my two hands the number of times I charged to full. This is literally not an issue for almost anyone, not even for me and my extremely slow DCFC limits.
It's only a limitation if you have a 200 mile round trip commute in the winter or something outrageous like that. Heaps of range is nice to have, but realistically is not worth paying heaps of money for it. I think most EV leasers who buy these 400+ mile range cars will probably hit a moment of realization that they've never even come close to utilizing the entire range - even on a roadtrip chances are you're going to need to stop to use a bathroom near a charger twice before you can even drive 400 miles.
Why do you say you hate to compare it to Tesla? The Plaid S is $90,000 is should very much be in the conversation as a competitor here. Obviously it has its negatives but be realistic.

Walk around under the e-tron GT and try to find some Audi rings on parts. Plenty of the Porsche Triangle P logo on parts, just hard to find any of those rings beneath that car.
As always you bring up some fundamental questions, as a reputable OEM they can build a car but with BEVS there is a new philosophy where the integrated architecture is key. With legacy manufacturers there is an overlap and at 150k for 250 mile hops before topping up at an increasing KWH cost is IMO is just not worth it. At least theyre rapidly depreciating! I bought my current A6 for rougly 1/6th of its original MSRP after 8 years of depreciation, and I might be able to do the same with one of these in 5 years...
NGL, I really like those wheels. Would love to put them on my 98 Sentra.
For that big Sentra energy? 😂
@@hondahirnyeSentra, go faster than an eMail
Knock off $100,00 and you're getting close.
Ooof 200-240 mile range is ridiculous especially for the price
For the price yeah, but if this could be had for $100K the fast charging makes up for not having 500 miles. The Taycan/E-Tron GT actually performed very well in long distance tours.
I saw a 2021 Taycan S with 2600 miles for $68K.
that's surprising where at?
@@papa_ptAt the auction
@@1SmokingLizard Was it a manufacturer buyback?
Many of these cars (Both Taycan & e-tron GT) got lemon-lawed during the past few years due to parts shortages.
The color grade on this one is pure bliss
I was truly moved by the inspired by Life Events section. I always knew Mark was a big deal, now we have proof.
Just on handling, this non-rs or base/4s taycan?
Given the huge depreciation, used market is becoming really attractive to enjoy for a few years before switching to something updated. The inflated msrp settles down nicely on the used market.
Wow, those skits (including the post credits) were hilarious!
1:45 I’m dying laughing because I noticed the song on the infotainment screen. 😂😂😂 I literally rewound the video to to make sure 😂
Because you're savagegeese, this is the first time I've heard about this car. I don't trust a single word any other reviewer says. You guys are as real as it gets.
You may be the last one to do a video on it, but you're the first one I'm watching on it.
I love how good the production value is
I love the link to the Diarrhea Explained video at 3:30 when Mark dies 😂
Recently commented on another EV video- why harp on MSRP pricing on a car that is pretty much a lease-only proposition subsidized by federal incentives, Audi incentives, Costco discounts and dealer discounts?
I really enjoyed suggested video about diarrhea with great commentary and cool 3-D animation
RIP Mark🙏🕊
This was epic. RIP Mark.
Love the sense of humor 😂
I could have commented the eulogy was the best part but the epilogue stole it😂😂😂😂
Feels like we're in the early '80s for electric cars.
That eulogy was perfect. All that was missing was a score by Ennio Morricone
I’ll stick with an RS7 for now
Holy shit, the dedication to mark part and the end was SO fucking good :D The ai voice killed me lmao
@@0hypnotoad0 Yeah, if you have a regular 200-mile commute though, time to reassess how you are living life.
Great car , nice 👍🏻 vid . The only problem with this one and the taycan are the price points . At 100k ok , they really do drive incredible
I think this is one of the coolest looking cars I've ever seen. Shame I'll never be able to afford it.
Depreciation will help your dreams.
Thanks for the video recommendation at around 3:30 😂
Why do you say you hate to compare it to Tesla? The Plaid S is $90,000 is should very much be in the conversation as a competitor here. Obviously it has its negatives but be realistic.
you guys are so unabashedly midwest i love it. great video.
Nobody’s paying $150k. These are discounting hugely.
Oh my goodness gracious! Thank goodness our Mark is ok. Ooofffffff. Bless his heart ❤️
I can’t wait for the next stream. I’d like details on the “inspired by true life events” part 😂
It’s probably the Throttle House guys stalking mark. Sure, their channel is bigger, but they look up to cardaddy Mark 😂
Probably based on true events in the style of Walker (1987). (A joyfully wackily distorted completely true base story.)
Or maybe the opposite: Random true bits molded into a new story.
What a touching tribute to Mark! I honestly got teary. Let me know if his X7 needs a new home…
How can a damn car that big and heavy not seat 4 people comfortably. What a waste.
Cool idea but I’ll take the ICE 😊
I’m perplexed why auto journalist keep talking about EVs when they appear to be slumping in sales. All car sales are slumping, but EVs appear to be even more so. So why do they get so much attention? Not a criticism of SG, just the market and journalism in general.
The machines have begun their offensive! Mark will go down as the first of many casualties. RIP to a true hero of humanity.
May God rest Mark's soul. He was the best of us when it came to utter and complete sarcasm. No one will know his likeness
Pretty cool of Mark to come back and finish the video after he died like that. What a guy.
The death montage was beautiful. Thanks for making a review about this generic, overpriced disposable car interesting at least.
Here just for the channel. These EVs in relaity bore the hell out of me. Good review
Walk around under the e-tron GT and try to find some Audi rings on parts. Plenty of the Porsche Triangle P logo on parts, just hard to find any of those rings beneath that car.
That ending is flippin' hilarious.
Better than driving an Audi!
Good to have you back from your Space Odyssey, Mark! Keep taking the road less traveled, so AI doesn't see the pattern and can’t write your eulogy.
The last bit was soooo good too
Loving the ev videos out of savagegeese. Thanks for the great reviews guys!
Lose money and convenience by an order of magnitude, keep it reel mark and jack👍🏻
An EV with physical HVAC controls? Imagine
"This is a transitionary vehicle... like every EV"
So funny because its true
Glad i went BRZ this yr
