I have always found your videos where you talk about the personal and professional challenges you are facing at the moment the most insightful. There is a lot of clarity in how you explain how you think through life decisions and it's admirable. I am very happy to see you achieve big things and go after opportunities that you wanted. Good luck! ❤️
🍀 this is honestly one of the most entertaining videos I have watched lately. It’s curious that you believe it doesn’t bring any clear value. I can watch “top 10 productivity hacks” anywhere, however having a view into the struggles you have when building a business and how you are dealing with them is not something that can be easily found anywhere else. Getting to see which books you are reading to tackle those issues is also a great insight!
Honestly, you being a doctor or pursuing medicine was just a "cool" factor about you for me, but I kept coming back to your videos because of your productivity, wholehearted living, organizational and book club content.
🍀You are very generous in sharing your thoughts on life and giving a really honest 'behind the scenes'. That authenticity is definitely a quality in your videos, which I always find motivating and useful.
Same thing happened to me - Getting a studio and working all day and coming home is better for my mental health. My environment dictates how productive I am.
🍀 I honestly think this was one of your best videos yet. Watched it till the end and it was amazing to see how much you’ve grown and how many things are going on behind cameras. I loved it!
I actually love “rambling videos”. I personally value listening to your thought process. One question that was recently shared with me on the subject of purpose was “what is the change or event in the world you would like to experiencia during your lifetime”. 🍀
I have always greatly appreciated your honesty and transparency - it's so refreshing to see! You and your team are doing amazing things, keep up the great work :)
🍀 loved the authenticity ... did not skip a minute. Using your youtube tips, i hit 100k a few weeks ago on UA-cam. Thank you Ali. You have inspired me alot and i have learnt alot from you...
hi Ali, I stopped watching your YT videos couple of weeks ago because I felt like they became too clickbait, let's make algorithms happy style. And then I watched this one. I can imagine how hard it is to balance it all out and I really admire that you just shared your thoughts and concerns with us. I think you already know and feel inside what's right and what you want to do. Maybe consider B2B in terms of "who pays the bills" as you mentioned that you don't it that normal ppl have to pay for your courses? Just quick thoughts.
Me too, I unsubscribed a few weeks ago because it started feeling like it was moving towards a more productised, formulaic feel of the videos and content (like making content for the sake of content). Maybe I’m just no longer the target demographic of the videos. Drop in every now and then though out of curiosity
@@mitchell9169 this is me totally. And after so long, this video is the one I picked to watch. And I'm glad I did. This is the Ali that I've always loved to hear.
🍀 Slow-paced, genuine, highly relatable, and inspiring. Thank you for thinking out loud and sharing the backstage stories. Although you might not see the ramblings as “creating value,” this was very valuable to me. Thank you, Ali!
🍀 watched it as a background while getting ready in the morn! I don’t know if I have any interesting inputs, but I do think a way to keep the “loyal” viewers around would be to be true to yourself. Stuff like this where you show the dilemmas ur facing is one way of doing that I think. Thanks for being an inspiration! I personally would love to see more of your music side haha but that’s not the point 😁
Having channels with their niche is nice, but there’s an audience for channels with diverse topics. I didn’t expect to watch this whole video, but it was excellent and a great example of how diverse topics can keep your audience engaged. It’s like trying a new ice cream flavor 🍀 🍦 Thanks and keep going!
Dear Ali, just wanted to say 3 things (maybe a few more): - I agree with Lewis, we don't care if you're not going to the hospital 😇; - TikTok is a great idea and can be a very inspirational tool as well; - Do what makes you happy so keep doing what you do =) you're very honest and have great leader traits all around you =) I love the way you express yourself it's so funny!
A lot of this resonates massively with my internal monologue. Please keep us up dated and how you go about coming to decisions/answers. I know some are always ongoing questions with constantly shifting context and goal posts but listening to your thought process is super helpful!
Congrats on all the growth. Scaling a business (right) is a challenging task to balance personal happiness with the value you bring to others. If anyone can do it, it’s you. Cheers 🍻
☘️hey Ali I’m relatively new to your channel, still catching up with all your videos! Your content is so on point, thought provoking and helpful for me, love the book selections. Thanks for being vulnerable about your challenges and concerns…I’m going through a similar phase where I’m figuring things out. I find helpful when I make peace with myself first and also reach out a good mentor that has already mastered the goal/ stage I’m aiming for. It’s ok not having the answers right away. All the best!
I recently completed my degree in Civil Engineering and have been working in the field for about 2 years. Finding this video along with a few others from you has helped me get over the sunk cost issue. So thank you for your willingness to be transparent and share your thought process.🍀
Just resonated with my year-long ethic: Life is not about doing everything the right way, but it's just about balancing the odds to lead ahead. Deeply touched inside🤗
15:23 Getting your house in order is a series in itself, I feel. Showing others what is involved in that would add a lot of value, knowing what process one might need, policies or systems that need to be put in place, or updating.
i love having these type videos on while I draw, keeps company somewhat and hear about people's lives. Kind of gives me the perception of the fact that life is not one dimensional, there are other people, living different lives, facing different problems, enjoying different moments, struggling different grinds.
I just published my 130th consecutive podcast this week while keeping up with my UA-cam channel and writing a book and I can say from experience that it’s *a lot* of work. Batching and delegating podcast tasks is *key* (especially when it comes to interviews). I can send you by guest booking workflow if that helps, Ali. Fortunately, UA-cam Creator Academy says that there’s no statistical impact from UA-camrs taking a few weeks off here and there. No long-term impact on views. So that’s promising!
It seems that as long as you have been with the platform long enough and making enough videos. The platform will always show your videos even you are taking some breaks.
🍀 One anecdote on why living your best life TODAY is important- My grandma's only dream in life was to visit the Taj Mahal (She lived in Delhi i.e. 3 hours drive from the place). She never went because earlier there were kids to bring up, money to save, marriages to arrange, then grandkids came along and life stayed busy. When she finally had the time and money, she no longer had the health. She passed away last year never having seen the Taj. So I'll just say- Go see your Taj (whatever that is for you). Don't wait for the right time, enough money etc etc. 😊🍀
🍀☘Thanks Ali! A "couch talk" like this is a nice change of pace every now and then, and a great reminder for us all that no matter what level you're at, there's always new challenges ahead. Glad you found a way to stop and reflect.
I think it's important for people starting out, to realise that the the struggle and challenge will never go away, it will only shift to other things. Learn to embrace difficulty and love a good challenge :)
🍀Thank you! Really enjoyed how you walk through your thoughts, got me thinking about how I should plan for my life and certain questions I need to ask myself. The "ordinary ideal week" and "finite vs. infinite goals" was really helpful and thought provoking as well. Looking forward to your future content!
This was one of my favourite videos from you personally, I love these kind of chit chat videos about what's going on in someone's career life and hearing their thoughts about trying to figure life out- it's so interesting to me as it helps me think about my own life while taking in different perspectives from other people's lives. Hope all the best for your business Ali!
🍀Wow….no matter the metrics on this video, it’s certainly been useful and wholesome hearing your authenticity and essentially thinking out loud. We love to see it. Keep doing you Ali, and do what you are passionate about.
Re: 18:49 How to figure out what to do with your life, one exercise I love and use frequently is the 7 Layers Deep “Why” Exercise. I’m not sure who originally invented it but there are a few variations of it on the web. You can use it to figure out your “end game” motivation behind anything from your career to hobbies. That can also help you figure out what to teach. Regarding passion, I would also recommend to refresh a bit some of Cal Newport’s stuff on passion v profession in So Good They Can’t Ignore You. Good stuff. I’ve read that book 3x so far.
Some of the thought exercises you're currently going through are things we as creators can really benefit from, so I found this video incredibly helpful. 🍀
Your studio looks amazing and I can watch you rambling for 43mins, there is lot of information and few self reflection moments when you talk about things you want to have in your calendar. I think is how you are connecting with us and we love you, pls do continue to make videos like this. loved it!
Take this with a grain of salt given I am a sample size of one... But personally the thing that got me hooked on your channel and why I've come to love your videos is your transparency. Both in business and in life and in finance and in everything. Your openness about where you are, how you got there, where you hope to go, and what you're doing to get there. If you boil your channel down to it's core that is what keeps me coming back.
I absolutely love this behind the scenes look into the business. As someone who wants to create content on a regular basis whilst having a full-time job, it was really interesting to see what life is like once you push that barrier and achieve independence from the traditional 9-5 (or more!). Even though the desire for most is to leave the traditional 9-5, it shouldn't really be the end goal because what's next after that? what's the infinite game?
🍀Kudos to sharing everything on your mind in such a candid way. You've been such a good influence on me since I started watching your videos. It's like I'm on the journey with you. I'd love to say Hi someday in London, another reason for travel to London again. Godspeed bro.
I am delighted you are talking about how you feel and the challenges you face. However, you are doing extremely well and to grow, you need to make changes. It's like adjusting the direction as you go along. I look forward to looking at more stuff. It's more inspiring.
I first stumbled on your channel cos of your iPad reviews, and yours was by far the best, most informative and helped me make my mind up about which one to buy, the fact that you were a doctor wasn’t important (but did make your views appear more legit for some reason 😆 we are so fickle!!) I also appreciated your Pakistani heritage again a superficial judgment (but we like being able to relate to someone cos of a shared background) and the rest was history, so doctor or not keep doing you, the value you’ve added to our lives is immeasurable, wishing for your success… May the Lord grant us guidance and the happiness we seek 🙏
I agree with Lewis on that note, yes being a med student gave you the edge for study habits vids which propelled your channel, but all the other stuff has nothing to do with medicine. I'm personally fascinated at how your mind works/ how you do life. For me, your best content this year was like right at the beginning of the year, second brain stuff, you book club insights are really refreshing. It would be interesting to see you use your meta learning skills to like absolutely dominate another career/unrelated field.
I’ve never commented on one of your videos before but I wanted to let you know that I don’t care if you’re a doctor or not. I just love your open and honest conversations. Thank you for uploading this and how raw it is 🙌🏻 you be you and keep being great ☺️ 🍀
🍀 Ali, I have been watching your channel since the start of the year and let me tell you something. The content is important, but the reason why we stick around to support you is because we enjoy your personality. So, don't worry about expanding your content to different topics.
Love your reflection on the stage of your life. A lot of people (including me) face this question of what they are going to do in their lives. I admire your achievement and I don't care whether you want to keep being a doctor or not.
You inspired me to start my own UA-cam Channel, and I still sometimes go back and watch your skills share course that's how amazing you are! I know you will succeed in anything you undertake, you are so brilliant in whatever you put your mind to ❤️
This video is full of value and insight for those of us trying to grow. It’s a direct reality check for our dreams before we get there. I feel that perhaps as you’ve grown you’ve become less relatable to your audience (which is inevitable) so if you did more videos like this now and again, where we see your vulnerability that may restore the connection, as long as it comes from an authentic place. 🍀
Hey Ali, listened to this while having my evening walk and I enjoyed it. Would like you to do more such videos. The youtubers make redundant content nowadays. So the interviews with experts would be fresh. Make more videos on health and well being.
Hey Ali! I don't usually comment on videos or watch 40 minute long videos, but your thoughts are pretty relatable. I think while there are pros and cons to doing all or focusing on a niche, ultimately what matters most is that you enjoy the journey. I understand now that it is harder to do since it's become a business and bigger than just you making videos, but I've generally just enjoyed hearing your thoughts on things and life in general🍀 You're transparent and I appreciate that in all your videos.
Thanks for sharing, I enjoy your behind the scenes type videos as much as the others. What makes them particularly interesting for me is the level of transparency with the combo of business and life.
I am also changing my career from clinical medicine which I never enjoyed or found myself in, but was so scared of leaving after 6 years of college and 3 years of residency.... I am doing my masters in public health it's in the field of health but not clinical, not in hospitals and I love it. Your videos made me feel it's okay to think again and change your decisions, your choices inspired me to go through with my dream and break out of what everyone else wanted me to do. so thank you for being you !
Oh my gosh, I hope everyone watched this right up to the end, I won’t spoil it as you’ve got to watch it, but how you summed up the video outlining your purpose. Absolutely resonated with me 100%. Great work.
Love this type of content where you’re being so authentic and it literally feels like you’re having a one on one conversation with us. YOU GOT THIS, Ali! 🍀 also, personally I watch your videos because I know that it will be useful and interesting, and not specifically just about one topic. That it’s not super niche :)
As a past corporate exec, I am super excited and super nervous for you at the same time. Having heavy fixed biz cost esp w/ employees by growing the org too fast can becoming stifling esp in creativity. I truly wish you the best and hope your channel gross rev surpass your goals & expectations. Enjoy your content mostly. This one you're right, it's a rambler. Had to 2x and stop short.
🍀 Yes, it was a long video, but very informative in terms of your thought processes, passion and purpose. Nice place too - I appreciated you filming from the different parts of your new offices, so we got to see it all.
🍀 Great video Ali, thank you. It was particularly interesting for me because my life has completely changed this week as I took the plunge to move to Australia with my family and I'm going totally freelance after 15 years of "corporate" life 🤯 I've taken a lot of value from it, especially in terms of your thoughts on employees, medium & long term goals, doing it for the right reasons etc, it's given me food for thought and its inspired me no end so thank you again. Oh and awesome looking workspace! 👌
Waiting for these videos: ‘Top 5 Reasons why i bought this office’ ‘Reasons why working externally increases productivity’ ‘5 things i hate about london’ ‘5 things i love about london’ ‘5 things i love about my office’ ‘5 things i hate about my office’ ‘things in your office which are important for life’
The one area you need to think about is how to expand to additional on screen talent. Your entire business appears to depend on you being on screen - I know you enjoy it, but producing content with only you limits long term growth. Look at channels like Linus Tech Tips where they have 5 or 6 additional on-screen personalities that have their specialties and fans.
Probably one of your best videos! Very insightful. 🍀. Why it provided context with tons of threads to look up wrt books you reference and personal challenges you had to evolving your business
I have always watched your video Ali, but lately I have been on a binge. I am late to watching this one, but I watched the entire thing, and I must say it was one of my favorites. There is something so relatable or nice about hearing you speak your thoughts. Kinda funny to see that no matter how big the business, or UA-cam channel gets that we all still kinda struggle with the same things in life. I love that you made this video to kinda work through the things you are facing. I feel like it was kinda therapy for the both of us. Keep going Ali!
I would be curious how long you would consider the content in your Part Time UA-camr course will be relevant considering you are no longer a part time UA-camr? Your business looks very different from the person hustling making videos as a team of one.
It's great to see you taking exciting new directions Ali!! You deserve every success mate, hope it all goes well! 😊💪🔥 (will sit down to watch properly this evening!)
Really great to be able to hear you talk through all that, Ali. I work in Reward and People Data (both subsets of HR) and usually explain to people the need for the different corporate functions by talking about a start up growing in size. It was awesome to see you get all excited by drawing an org chart! Best of luck to you all!
I love these kind of videos more than the mainstream productivity videos because to me it seems clear that there is relatively less pressure on you/team and it feels more natural and less clickbaity. Thank you Ali and team!
🍀 It’s very nice to hear these “behind the scenes” business thoughts. I think there is definitely not one right way of doing things. I always remember that other people are also just going by their best guess, being it an entrepreneur, student, professor or a CEO. Keep up the good work and, more importantly, enjoy the ride!
🍀 Hey Ali, thank you for this extremely genuine video. Indeed, none of your followers cares that you take care of patients during the week or not, but having a normal job beside all the work you have been doing on UA-cam as a side-hustle was the thing making you an inspiration. I really believe that having a normal job was making you different and more interesting than all the other UA-camrs out there and I believe it will continue to make you interesting in the future. Wish you all the best!🍀
This has been wonderfully insightful. I appreciate your openness and candor. I have often wanted to start a UA-cam channel. The content you create is excellent, and I find your energy and information very inspiring. Thanks for doing you. :)🍀
🍀 I have to say, it was nice to see the "real" you Ali, just expressing your thoughts about your life and direction... Concerns that we have all had at sime point, and very relatable to my life right now - so I really connected with you. Follow your intuition Ali, it sounds like you're going down the right track ❤️
29:00 thank you for saying this Ali. Most of your viewers were also giving you feedback on this, we love your videos 99% of the time, because you are really genuine, upfront and honest. This is what gave you so many subs/viewers. Don't ruin that with clickbait, although I now more understand WHY you did it.
I think what Lewis said is totally accurate; no matter what the primary focus is in your life, whether it's making UA-cam videos or honing in on medicine, most of us don't really care. We will stick around and watch whatever you release because we're here for you for support and interest in your life, not so much for trying to gain something from the videos. Go where you feel called.
I've never watched 30 mins youtube video before, but the way you share your life and goals inspires me. I dunno, just really entertained by how you speak. Happy for your achievements in life, keep doing what you are doing, you're doing great! ❤
It's really inspiring to see how much you've grown and achieved. My advise - yes- metrics are important and job definition and description is important but make sure not to go too corporate. Too much corporate takes sucks the soul out of people and you don't want that, especially in an environment that relies so much on creativity.
Incredible person reading this, you have everything there is to succeed in life, whatever that is for you. Go after the life you truly want NOW! ✨ I believe in you! Love - Nat ❤️
Being a Doctor and having the youtuber as a side hustle made you more authentic than other studying/ productivity channels beacuse you had skin in the game. Like you were making videos about topics that you were experiencing and I felt that you had no reason to put out bullshit beacuse UA-cam wasn't even your full time thing. But, I appreciate that now your a brand with 19 employees (congrats btw) that you will have to make decisions on creating and distributing content (like paid courses) that you wouldn't have needed to worry about when it was just you on your own with a camera.
Love listening to your rambling. I guess just by listening to you inspire me because I could do my designing job (while listening) after leaving it for few days due to lack of ideas. So happy for your growth 🍀☘️
Hi Ali! Great video! Since you love teaching, have you thought about becoming a professor of medicine? I think that position would utilize both your medical knowledge and teaching skills. Good luck!
🍀 I feel happy when I see such a huge and positive life update although it takes me a long time to watch. Hope you can post more useful videos in the future!
Ali, you content really changed my life. I followed your channel since 2019, learnt a lot from your sharing wisdom. Thanks you and wish you have a wonderful life in London. 🍀
🍀 honestly, I enjoy your content and I just enjoy listening to you speak. You have a very soothing voice imo which I like since I need outside stimulation while I work or do less fun tasks which is engaging but not distracting. I appreciate you sharing some of your inner thoughts and dialogue

The "ordinary ideal week" and "finite vs. infinite goals" was really helpful and thought provoking as well. Looking forward to your future content!
I love how authentic you always are!🍀Good luck with all the changes!
I'm 16 and think a lot about the things you talk about like finding your passion and goals. Brilliant video, keep it up. 🍀
Ali's consistency and work ethic are so inspiring. It inspired me to get started on youtube too!
"Five Whys" and "Fishbone Diagram" are good search terms here.
Some of the thought exercises you're currently going through are things we as creators can really benefit from, so I found this video incredibly helpful. 🍀
🍀 35:03 this unseeming moment, where you’re talking about something really profound without even noticing, combined with the music, is so beautiful
🍀I remember having long chats with myself like this when I was your age. It's a long and winding road but it is an adventure !
🍀 it is great to see you genuinely opening about the challenges of running a business and the effects of that on your personal life so thank you)
So real and wonderful to witness and learn from 🤩✨
I am delighted you are talking about how you feel and the challenges you face.
Agree! Especially the book club thing, that’s indeed helpful & informative
@@catherinel.3551 Right? Like there are alot of other book reviews in YT but his just hit differently
☘️ great to see the progression so far, good luck Ali
Yooooo ocean man wag1 never thought I'd see you here
@@hybrid_nb1538 yeah same😍
Yo yo, Ocean gang or drown 🙏
Ocean! you here bro! subbed to both of you!
I’ve never commented on one of your videos before but I wanted to let you know that I don’t care if you’re a doctor or not. I just love your open and honest conversations. Thank you for uploading this and how raw it is 🙌🏻 you be you and keep being great ☺️ 🍀
🍀
Ali, I have been watching your channel since the start of the year and let me tell you something. The content is important, but the reason why we stick around to support you is because we enjoy your personality. So, don't worry about expanding your content to different topics.
Totally agreed!
I know you will succeed in anything you undertake, you are so brilliant in whatever you put your mind to ❤️
I am subscribed to your channel for quite some time. You are super talented. Love what you do. ❤️
Even though life changes, we still know you as the man who made being productive cool! 😎
I always get so inspired by the transparency and candidness of your videos 🍀
🍀 Thanks for sharing your journey Ali. I used to work in the same office space, so was nostalgic to see you wandering around.
🍀 ngl this reminds me of the chat we had a couple of weeks ago.
our two favorite productivity+entrepreneurship+learning ppl of color on UA-cam :) amazinggggggggggg
It was particularly interesting for me because my life has completely changed this week as I took the plunge to move to Australia with my family and I'm going totally freelance after 15 years of "corporate" life 🤯
I've taken a lot of value from it, especially in terms of your thoughts on employees, medium & long term goals, doing it for the right reasons etc, it's given me food for thought and its inspired me no end so thank you again.
Oh and awesome looking workspace! 👌
Wishing you best for the road ahead !

Solicited advice: Don't pay too much attention to every thought that pops up, keep it simple. All the best.
🍀 Enjoyed this very much. ❤️

Ha ha! Fun way of putting it! It’s actually fun to do the journey together... virtually
This video is the ‘personification’ of critical thinking’ 💭 👏🏽
I've never watched 30 mins youtube video before, but the way you share your life and goals inspires me. I dunno, just really entertained by how you speak. Happy for your achievements in life, keep doing what you are doing, you're doing great! ❤
🍀🍀🍀 Being torn on what you really want to do for the rest of your life is daunting. Best of luck on whatever path you’ll choose!
It's really inspiring to see how much you've grown and achieved.
My advise - yes- metrics are important and job definition and description is important but make sure not to go too corporate.
Too much corporate takes sucks the soul out of people and you don't want that, especially in an environment that relies so much on creativity.
I guess it all about finding that right balance... trial and error research 😁🤷🏻♀️
Incredible person reading this, you have everything there is to succeed in life, whatever that is for you. Go after the life you truly want NOW! ✨
I believe in you! Love - Nat ❤️
Thank you

@@justak2938 you’re so welcome my friend ❤️
I‘m still excited to see where you‘re going with your life and this channel after all these years. 🍀
Hi Ali! Great video! Since you love teaching, have you thought about becoming a professor of medicine? I think that position would utilize both your medical knowledge and teaching skills. Good luck!
