    Always is better to check for leaks before install back the bumper. You felt cool to touch the center radiator compared to 2 outside hot units, the reason is you was touching the AC condensers instead the radiators that are mounted behind. You did a very meticulous job!! Your car looks great and your X51 power kit is now complete! You are a truly Porsche enthusiast!!!!! Cool🤘🏼

      MIXMASTER RONEDEE unknowingly it sounds like I did the same thing. I thought it was full after this video however after driving it it took a bit more of 50-50 mix. I didn’t drive it hard so what you’re saying about the RPMs was pretty much what I did. At this point I was overflowing so I thought for sure I was full. I then drove the car harder for about 40 minutes and the next morning it took almost a gallon! Now I know that reservoir tank is pretty big so it likely sucked what it could from there and I wasn’t really as low in the system. I did not get any warning lights and the temperature holds right at 197. Now we’re almost a month later and the coolant level hasn’t budged. Same as you, car runs nice and cool. Thanks for the comment and the view!

    Thanks a lot for this video, just did this on a 991.2 carrera. A few steps different but basically the same. I was able to leave the headlights in but had to take the wheel wells out instead. Also I just topped the coolant off and followed the PIWIS instructions without the piwis for bleeding, no issues.

    That vacuum system is designed to work only when all the coolant has been removed. Since you had existing coolant in your system the tool is useless. All you needed to do was start your car and rev the engine. That would have gotten the car to temp and allowed the front middle radiator to fill. The other mistake was the hose in the tank with coolant water mix. You introduced air back into the system.

    • @bobbygfl

      A N ah. Good tip. I was wondering. It did suck quite a bit in, but I do get what you’re saying as far as bubbles in the system.

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  5 років тому +2

      Dario Campolattaro thank you. No, the engine comes up to temp just as fast. I believe the car does not run fluid through the center until it’s up to temp. Anyway once it’s at temp (194) it stays right at 194. Doesn’t budge.

      Hey, I was thinking and of course depending on the budget, what if one can get the front and rear aprons +/- are-kit made in carbon fiber with all the correct details of air-intake channels, radiator mesh, etc., and painted in his/hers favorite body color with variable polished raw carbon trims!
      You’re lucky in the USA/ Europe, you have all these specialty and after market shops, that you can modify your car in steps to your final liking! Plus, you have so many racing track and back good back-roadsI
      in Saudi we have neither! I have to go thru the dealer ship, otherwise void the warranty on my 2017 991.2 Carrera with PDK & PSE !

    Um, this idea of running hot has me concerned. Let's review. A street car is designed to run at a fixed temperature in all normal operating conditions, which includes idling around town on very hot days with the A/C on high. Beyond that, every decent sports car is designed to maintain this temperature even on hot days while you flog it at the track. So, if your car is not able to maintain its temperature in town, something is very wrong, IMO. I wonder of other 991.1S owners have temp issues around town.

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  5 років тому +1

      Brian St. Denis sorry wasn’t clear. Running at 212. The upper end of the normal range at about 95 ambient air temp. Maintains 212 perfectly. With additional radiator maintains 194 perfectly in same ambient conditions. This is low end of the normal operating range. Also, this is the coolant temp I’m referencing. The oil temp which does serve as a cooling source runs cooler than before but only by about 5 degrees. Not as drastic a change. As for the change with the mods: the cams, plenum, exhaust and tune has increased HP. More HP from the same block will create more heat. No way around that. Hope that helps! Thanks for the comment

  •  2 роки тому +1

    Mr. Amateur Porsche owner what is your goal? PORSCHE has varieties of 911's, they have to make $$$, and everything had been calculated long time ago. Your actions will not change your car's performance that will be beneficial at the track. Race your car with another 911 owner that has the same model but OEM. Who's gonna win the race? Keep on modifying your car, you're only changing your degree of anger.
