Hi Matt, Just a note on your shutoff valve, you probably should have installed 2 valves in a tee configuration. It will be hard for the water to drain out, with no air getting in the source end it will be pulling a vacuum, so it might be a little hard for it to drain. I finished my setup about a month ago, I'll send some pics to your email.
Thanks Wally, yeah I debated that after the install was complete lol. I could always change it later if needed. Last winter I did shut if off and opened up both hose bibs and it did drain quite a bit except in the vertical portion of the pipe of course (before the shut off valve.) The mini room where the hot water tank is located is insulated and keeps warm even on the coldest days hence why the line did not freeze. I will take a look at my email for the photos, very exciting!
@@LifeOfaMatt Actually this winter they are predicting an El nino winter ,which should mean it will be warmer than normal, but we''ll wait see what that brings for us west coasters.
Hi Matt. Another youtuber with a similar k1700 setup mentioned that he had to bolt down and secure the machine because the vibrations made it want to creep off the shelf. Has that been your experience? What have you done?
Good point. So I bought some really nice rubber pads/feet from Home Depot. They do a good job. The short hose also keeps it from falling off too. I don’t think you need to bolt it, just get better rubber feet. My 2 cents, good question!!!
Did any catch the BLOOPER at 8:00? So what is a Quickle? I would love to hear yours thoughts and definitions! This could be really fun!!!

@@LifeOfaMatt You mean after the shutoff valve, just remember to keep the hose bibs open after draining.
