Very nice! I did something pretty similar for our RTT mounted on our trailer. I used aluminum heater tubing for running the hot air....hows the dryer vent tubing holding up for you? I power ours off our trailers battery. We've got a 100 amp hour that will run the heater for about 3 days or so.... if I remember to keep the tank full :/ We don't recycle the air, which would probably help with fuel use, but it does mean nice dry air in the tent. We just feed the heat to our annex (for the puppy) and let it circulate up. We've camped in -13 outside temps (northern Nevada, southern Oregon), and the tent was a toasty 70 without issues.... Looking forward to more videos! Thanks for sharing!
8 Square Feet The dryer hose is basically metal as I purchased the best ones at the time they had available and so far no issues at all I am amazed at how well they keep our rtt warm and dry even in wet weather there is absolutely no condensation I am getting ready to buy a Bruder Offroad camper and it comes with a Diesel heater :)
Yes glow plug has to be on the upside and you can remove cover to see the wires going to it to be sure So far this one has over 900 hrs and I just built a new one that’s smaller in case size
www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-37-in-Rolling-Tool-Box-Utility-Cart-Black-209261/203668066 I would use the one smaller and get a square fuel cell if i were to do it again :)
What did you use for exhaust pipe extension?I welded a piece of ridged electrical conduit at 90degrees and sent the exhaust up above my tent like 8ft.I have to tie it off w/guide lines but it's stable. My tent is a kodiak 10x14 canvas ground tent.
Used 25 foot of flex exhaust pipe from Amazon.com I run it away on the ground and have no smell or noise at all smile.amazon.com/Walker-40000-Exhaust-Pipe/dp/B0027IU9UY/ref=sr_1_2?crid=53QDDVW7VBEA&keywords=1+inch+exhaust+pipe&qid=1583892417&sprefix=1+inch+e%2Caps%2C214&sr=8-2
The battery lasts overnight on idle and gets recharged during the day but when below zero and heater running hard it won’t last overnight without either a second in parallel or a supplementary battery pack
Absolutely love this buddy . I’m in the uk and rest assure I’m going to start making mine tomorrow 👍👍 just the idea I was looking for . FANTASTIC
Still going strong :)
Great job mate. You are very resourceful.
Nice job , please tell me where you got the thermostat control extension from thanks
3 wires so i used 14 gauge primary wire and simply extended it by 12 feet :)
Looks great! Have you got a link or suggestion for the connection you used for your warm air duct? Thanks.

Pretty cool! Nicely done. Thx for sharing
Maybe you can do the video for how to build it step by step?
Nice build - thanks for sharing!
how much do you think all that weighs?
What is that piece you used to connect air hose that goes to the tent to the box?

Plastic not metal
@Raptor x Overland
can you post a parts list?
Nice setup you have sir. 👍
Please do a step by step video on how you fabricated the heater. Thank you.
Hi what size amps is your battery
How did you mount the air filter to get a good seal? The video is really dark when you show the air filter, so I couldn't see. Nice build, BTW.
Cut it exactly to fit and it kinda seals itself with the pressure from the vent cover as there is a lip
@@raptorxoverland2465 Ah, I see now, thanks!
Great setup.... what’s the brand of fittings you are using and are they specifically heat resistant? I need to put a wye in my setup.
Dryer vent stuff is kinda heat resistant but i have had some minor melting when the hose was blocked once so.....
Where did you buy the connections to join the tube where the hot air comes out?

@@raptorxoverland2465 thank a lot
Great setup. But as is so prevalent on UA-cam, it's a strain trying to hear you over that unnecessary music.
Thank you for the video. So these heaters can be mounted bottom to the side, sideways?
I thought you strictly had to mount them bottom down.

Very nice! What did you use for a plug on the hot air outlet when the duct is not installed?
Richard Mewer Use a pvp plug from Lowe’s for 4 bucks :)
Nice set up! What size is that Husky container or do you have a link? Thanks!

Nice unit
well done, I’m working on a build myself. What is the highest elevation you have ran this?
8800 ft and was fine
Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Good looking setup. What size battery are you using? I was thinking about running mine off a Jackery but your way may be more cost efficient.
Harbor Freight solar battery 30 amp hour that was like $ 60
The battery lasts overnight on idle and gets recharged during the day but when below zero and heater running hard it won’t last overnight without either a second in parallel or a supplementary battery pack
Both Harbor freight batteries have died after alot of use
justa fyi :)
Good video with the exception of that ford truck. Lol
Killer setup
Good idea
nice
They are not 8kw.. only 5kw
