    YES!!! The solution I've been looking for my minivan camper. My roof rack will perfectly hold it in place and I'll funnel everything through the sliding door and window. I just need to figure out securing it (so it doesn’t wander away) and to build out a window insert for the air duct. Completely worth the $600!!

    Paid roughly 220 for my heater with all the accessories. Took about an hour and half to do it myself. Its a fun DIY project. Try to recirculate your air from inside your tent for better efficiency.

    You can also get a clamp with thumb screws and save the need to use a screwdriver altogether. I’d tighten the air hose in the outlet of the unit because of the proximity to the exhaust exit (or add an extension to the exhaust pipe to create a bigger separation. All in all, game changer

    Wow!! I didn't even consider a diesel heater for cold weather camping. I recently needed to upgrade my gear for cold weather as my children were asking to go camping in the snow. I ordered a bell tent with a stove jack and had not yet picked a stove to go with then I came across your review. I ordered one before I finished the video.The first thought I had was YES! I don't have to feed a stove all night. I'm excited to take this out into the field and try it out.

    edit: I just installed a GCF RTT and added the GFC $300 air/foam mattress. This diesel heater is definitely worth it given that a buddy heater can burn a hole in that mattress in a second flat if it tipped over.

When we're off the grid nobody want to smell diesel fumes. Please share, anyone in the comments, is that a consideration or is the amount of fuel burning so little there is no odor? Not just for myself but the group I'm with. If I have to consider wind direction to prevent sending odors to my camp neighbors that will nix this type of heater.

    Are your friends at Xventures still making these? I tried the '"contact us" on their site but haven't received a response. I'm ready to purchase two units.

    So real similar design to keeganbuilds??

      @JoelBebo 2 роки тому +2

      I was about to do a Keeganbuilds (was waiting on a few more parts)…but ended going with this instead. Honestly, not saving much $ doing it yourself if you consider the 3D printed parts on the DIY project.
      One less project from an endless list of projects in mind :)

      @@JoelBebo I mean let's be honest, I'm pretty sure they just used keegan's design. It's literally the same parts and layout.

    What kind of BTU range does it have?

    Can it be modified to heat roof tent and annex at same time? Also.....is this available to UK customers?

    • @tomfrengillo
      @tomfrengillo 2 роки тому

      You can have y connector to split the hose and run into RTT and Annex. Not sure how warm the annex will be. Also, Since air rises, heard of some running in the Annex and then the annex will supply heat to the RTT. Never tried that.

    • @jillhoboken5974
      @jillhoboken5974 2 роки тому

      I’m thinking if you run it in an annex, you’d have to make sure you vent the exhaust outside or you’re gonna get the exhaust gas problem…

    Should use turn-key hose clamps because you tighten the clamp by hand.

    This isn't a legit business. They have zero supply, everything is"out of stock" as they only ever had a prototype that you see in the video, apparently, a minimum 10 weeks wait, no contact from them if you try to reach them, and only a 2-year warranty.
