What is that piece you used to connect air hose that goes to the tent to the box?
@@benjaminbahnson145 Clothes dryer quick connect on Amazon Plastic not metal
how much do you think all that weighs?
Absolutely love this buddy . I’m in the uk and rest assure I’m going to start making mine tomorrow 👍👍 just the idea I was looking for . FANTASTIC
Still going strong :)
Nice unit
Hi I was wondering where you started from to get there and how long does it take to get to the water? Or was this a time laps video? I went yesterday and was lost but I think I went in the wrong way from the parking lot. I would appreciate any help you could give me on trying to find this place. Thank you.
Just did the entire loop in my '19 raptor. Up until the point you got to, going up the west side, it's easy. Roads are becoming eroded but it wasn't bad. Still would recommend high clearance and 4wd just incase as it could change at any moment. Then I went down the east side of it... that's an entirely different animal. It'll do it, but be extremely cautious. It's all rocky, very tight. Would recommend going early morning in the middle of the week when there's no traffic as there is no room to pass or turn around on a lot of the east side of this trail. The switch backs are very rough, and honestly recommend if you go in anything bigger than a wrangler, bring a friend just incase. It is a very sketchy trail for a bigger truck. I was pretty well tense going down the switch back part. Once you make it through that, it'll slowly start getting easier, switchbacks are the worst part. At each turn I had to pull forward a bit, and pull an Austin Powers lol. I made it, lots of pin striping though, but truck is white so it's fine. Definitely be aware of your surroundings as there are lots of big rocks that could cause some issues. Front facing camera was a massive help, Definitely saved me on multiple occasions on the east side of the trail going down. Don't listen to the books or some online places saying it's an easy trail. It is for the west side going up. East side is definitely moderate. For most of the east side I did have the rear lockers on and was in 4low (rock crawl for raptor owners). Took me about and hour or so going up west side. About 3 hours or so going down the east side. I just went on November 9th, 2022. I wouldn't trust any reviews more than a few months old due to the excessive amount of rain/storms we've had in 2022 alone.
100% agree
Great job mate. You are very resourceful.
is this steel or aluminum rack? also whats the height of the rack?
They are not 8kw.. only 5kw
nice
Good video with the exception of that ford truck. Lol
Hi what size amps is your battery
Really like the smaller setup. In the process of doing it now. Could you share where you located the quick disconnect parts for the hot air output? Thanks

Please do a step by step video on how you fabricated the heater. Thank you.
No such thing as an 8Kw diesel heater only 2 Kw & 5Kw an 8 Kw is a 5Kw marketing ploy that deceives people into thinking it puts out more heat and it doesn't!
Where did you buy the connections to join the tube where the hot air comes out?

@@raptorxoverland2465 thank a lot
Thanks for the video, been looking for a nice trail to test the waters with my new ranger. Looks like a fun ride. Are you on IG at all? Nice to keep in touch with other local overlanders.
tuttle.t on IG
Do you think this could be done in a stock 2wd Tahoe?
It has changed due to floods and burn scar so have no idea :(
would love to check this spot out. would you be so kind to give the location?

Background music too loud.
what a great overland rig.... Looks awesome sir!
Sweet setup. Does your rooftop tent open to the side or the rear? I'm doing a tent on my KB voodoo rack soon and see you custom mounted it. Wondering if I should do a similar mounting.
Off the drivers side and bottom footprint is 8 ft by 8 ft with ladder inside annex It is an Tepui rugged explorer tepui.com/products/thule-tepui-explorer-autana-4?_vsrefdom=adwords&gclid=CjwKCAiApNSABhAlEiwANuR9YIK22ztoBwHg0S3jI16dbiWOyBDPVmySIeYHUeP0Lyq36JsfipULsBoCPCcQAvD_BwE
Great setup.... what’s the brand of fittings you are using and are they specifically heat resistant? I need to put a wye in my setup.
Dryer vent stuff is kinda heat resistant but i have had some minor melting when the hose was blocked once so.....
Most advanced set up I've seen on the tube. Awesome.
I did the same thing. Honestly after time and money mounting the unit in a toolbox, I would’ve rather bought the one already built in a case.
Ive seen and heard of them leaking fuel from the insane crappy fuel filters and most all in ones overheat and throw codes like a 30 yr old Honda :)
Good idea

@Raptor x Overland can you post a parts list?
How did you mount the air filter to get a good seal? The video is really dark when you show the air filter, so I couldn't see. Nice build, BTW.
Cut it exactly to fit and it kinda seals itself with the pressure from the vent cover as there is a lip
@@raptorxoverland2465 Ah, I see now, thanks!
well done, I’m working on a build myself. What is the highest elevation you have ran this?
8800 ft and was fine
Nice job , please tell me where you got the thermostat control extension from thanks
3 wires so i used 14 gauge primary wire and simply extended it by 12 feet :)
No problem with mounting the heater on the side
As long as the glow plug is on the upside it will be fine and i recommend double checking by removing cover
Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the video. So these heaters can be mounted bottom to the side, sideways? I thought you strictly had to mount them bottom down.
Yes glow plug has to be on the upside and you can remove cover to see the wires going to it to be sure So far this one has over 900 hrs and I just built a new one that’s smaller in case size
Thanks for making this video. Do you think a stock Tacoma TRD off road could do this?
For sure just watch the switchbacks :)
I've built one in a husky box too, I shipped it from America to Scotland as it was the only one wide enough at a decent price. ua-cam.com/video/MWJEGdFFctA/v-deo.html My box is the bigger Husky though, with a leisure battery, 12v and USB sockets, along with power monitor and low voltage cut off, There is a couple of videos, and like yours there is enough space for all the hoses etc, and the essential CO detector
Nice build - thanks for sharing!
Great setup. But as is so prevalent on UA-cam, it's a strain trying to hear you over that unnecessary music.
Maybe you can do the video for how to build it step by step?
I think the tire is nitto rige grapple? Do you lift how many inchi to fit with 20wheel with 37tire? Any cutting involve?
Very nice! What did you use for a plug on the hot air outlet when the duct is not installed?
Richard Mewer Use a pvp plug from Lowe’s for 4 bucks :)
Nice video! Heading out there in the morning!
Nice truck! Just subscribed to your channel. I really want 37’s on my 18 raptor, and gonna start my transition to a overland build. It has the fox 3.0. And is stock everything. What exactly was done on your truck to fit the 37’s?Has it limited your off-road capabilities? I can’t get a good answer on the web. Some say massive amounts of money and fabrication to the inside of the well is needed. You obviously drive off road.. would appreciate your feedback thx
Good vid guys new friend here
Beautiful Raptor! Really want to see that snorkel on it 👍
is this the 14" rack?
Yes it is and i love it due to it is very light compared to others :)
Nice set up! What size is that Husky container or do you have a link? Thanks!
www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-37-in-Rolling-Tool-Box-Utility-Cart-Black-209261/203668066 I would use the one smaller and get a square fuel cell if i were to do it again :)
Very nice! I did something pretty similar for our RTT mounted on our trailer. I used aluminum heater tubing for running the hot air....hows the dryer vent tubing holding up for you? I power ours off our trailers battery. We've got a 100 amp hour that will run the heater for about 3 days or so.... if I remember to keep the tank full :/ We don't recycle the air, which would probably help with fuel use, but it does mean nice dry air in the tent. We just feed the heat to our annex (for the puppy) and let it circulate up. We've camped in -13 outside temps (northern Nevada, southern Oregon), and the tent was a toasty 70 without issues.... Looking forward to more videos! Thanks for sharing!
8 Square Feet The dryer hose is basically metal as I purchased the best ones at the time they had available and so far no issues at all I am amazed at how well they keep our rtt warm and dry even in wet weather there is absolutely no condensation I am getting ready to buy a Bruder Offroad camper and it comes with a Diesel heater :)
I have a Gen 1 raptor and am building for overlanding too, probably won't put 37's on it but really like the look of yours. I have put a decked system and leitner rack too, curious if they upgraded your rear leaf springs to accommodate the added weight on the back?
Have Deaver springs sitting in my garage I’m using up my stocks springs first but you definitely need them and revalve the rear shocks for a non choppy ride on pavement Anything over 700 lbs over the rear axle imo over time needs the Deaver spring pack
Pretty cool! Nicely done. Thx for sharing
