How strange I had just got finished watching clay tutorial also putting the wrapping paper on polymer clay and when it was over yours came up so I wanted to watch and see if you did anything different. I also noticed that hers came off so easy. I was so glad that you tried it twice and decided that it could have been the wrapping paper that it didn't turn out as bright,I have been looking at clay transfers on Etsy and they are so expensive so I was very excited to find this on your channel and hers. Thank you and God bless 🙂

Mine did the same thing, I used nail polish remover and it got a very faded blotchy result. I used that to my benefit to make aged mosaic looking earrings from the method, but if you want stronger colors than the hand sanitizer I’d the way to go!

Would love to see a follow up video using different qualities of papers. Also if the gloss of the paper makes a difference. 😁

Thanks for the helpful video. BTW, paper burns at 451 degrees Fahrenheit (232 Celsius). So, at 275 dF, it will be perfectly safe. The myth that paper might burn in a 275dF oven probably stems from the fact that some plastics (which are generally considered sturdier) will melt in ovens as low as 275 dF. For anyone older or better read, they may remember the book "Fahrenheit 451" as their reminder. That was a big science fiction book in the 1960's and deal with book burning. So, yes, cardboard (which is made by layering paper) and plain paper are safe at 275 dF.

I saw a video where the hand sanitizer did not have soap or water in it. Her paper came right off. Tat might be the difference.

No worries about paper burning at 275°. Remember the book Fahrenheit 451? That’s the temp at which paper burns. 😊

@@sherbearsclay Alcohol, however has a very low flash point. If it's ethanol, if you have any source of ignition, it will ignite at well below room temperature, so drying out the hand sanitizer before baking is the way to go.

Clay tutoriels is the one i watched. Im curious, isopropyl alcohol is the base of the sanitizer...ill try mixing glycerine and alcohol.

The female I watched used non-acetate remover, is that what you used? I wonder if you cut the words out and flip them if they will work? Since the sanitizer penetrates and breaks down the paper, it would just have to go through more layers? Or, cut the words out, flip them over and color with sharpest or colored pencils. Thanks for experimenting on our behalf!😁

That’s an interesting thought on the letters I do wonder if that would work flipping the design??? May have to try that. And yes that is the type of remover I tried. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
