Supposedly, super sonic was a homage to super sayian, in sonic 2 he had black eyes, but in sonic 3 super sonic had green eyes which makes it more clear of a homage. While in most modern versions since adventure 1 have him with red eyes (more or not for either people to stop calling it a ripoff or copyright somehow). At most it's a homage, at less it's a ripoff.
