    Orville Gibson envisioned the guitar as the focal point of a band. He dedicated himself not only to creating instruments that were louder and more durable but also crafted them as works of art, something musicians would take pride in playing. The iconic sunbursts on our acoustic guitars have become synonymous with Gibson, paying homage to Orville’s original vision. The intricate process and skill involved in achieving the perfect sunburst exemplify our commitment to honoring this heritage. We build the hard way, forgoing the easy way, because it not only sounds better and lasts for generations but also looks better.

    Gibson TV’s award-winning docuseries, “The Process,” is returning for a second season! This time, we’re taking you behind the scenes for an in-depth look at the physical process of making our acoustic guitars. “The Process” explores our newly expanded acoustic factory in Bozeman, MT, featuring interviews with the talented craftspeople who hand-make these beloved guitars and deep dives into the art of guitar making and luthiery at the Gibson Craftory.
    Learn how Gibson acoustic guitars are sprayed and finished, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how Gibson Acoustic luthiers at the craftory in Bozeman, Montana, put unrivalled care and attention into each step of building your Gibson acoustic guitar. You'll see every step of the finishing process, including how the various tonewoods used on your Gibson acoustic guitar respond to grain filler. You'll also enjoy a brief history of the iconic sunburst finishes that have adorned Gibson acoustic guitars for over a century. Gibson is at the top of their game right now. The electrics are back with a vengeance, and the Bozeman Shop has never had a bad year, since 1990. I own several, and they are supreme quality.

    I have a Montana built J45, always gets the ears pricking up and the eyes very interested. One thing, I would like to see a Orville Gibsons house reconstructed on its foundation as a Museum, it would be a great experience to see how he lived and worked. ❤

    My Les Paul Standard 50’s I bought last year is hands down the best guitar I’ve ever bought; it 100% lived up to its reputation. It sounds wonderful in any context I throw it in.

    NIce, I love to see how it gets done. Still waiting on an episode on reissues (with thermal tops and all the differences with normal production as it all gets done at the same factory).

    I’d love to see how you’re building the acoustic Epiphone imports. They’re impressive. The Slash J45 is perfection. I tried my friend’s and I was floored at the quality and tone.

      Their factories just moved to China from Indonesia without warning! I’m looking at the viper blue j45 from Sweetwater and it’s now made in China and has completely different tuners.

      @@Anthonydmusic.21 It’ll be an improvement over the Indonesian guitars. I’ve owned Epiphones from EVERY era. I currently own 4 2020+ Epiphone electrics, all of which were made in the China factory. KILLER guitars, and head and shoulders better than the Korean and Indonesian instruments. I kept the newer China made guitars and sold the rest.

      @@Anthonydmusic.21the Masterbilts were made in China in the early 2000s and they were actually stunning. I remember picking up an EF-500RA (auditorium size with rosewood back and sides with a black burst and satin finish with abalone trim everywhere) and it was stunning to look at and hear. It had a V shaped neck profile which I didn’t care for at the time.

    It's worrying that many of the sprayers are not using safety masks.

    • @ejsrandomadventures
      @ejsrandomadventures 4 місяці тому +1

      In their Nashville plant "process" video, Jim mentioned that their filtration system operates to OSHA standards that do not require a face mask. By the looks of it, they have the same filtration system here.

    • @DRChevalier

      I agree. The spray process may pass OSHA standards, but shouldn’t a high profile company aim higher than the minimum?

    Don't know about the Gibson being built the hard way,but i have a hard time with yours VTC pickups,which are badly put in,already 2 guitars(L-00 and Southern Jumbo)where some strings sound poorly compare to anothers,so you you have take all whole thing out and do some fiddling.I love Gibson guitars,having five of them,but your pickups are really bad!

    • @ChrisSkinner1
      @ChrisSkinner1 4 місяці тому +1

      Mine did this too. At least for me, the problem was not the pickup but the bridge saddle wasn’t perfectly flat. I had to sand it down just a little, so the saddle made proper contact with the pickup. now it sounds great.
