- Where's the fire in pastoral Connecticut? Look no further than the country club and the sexy siren, whose presence sets off all manner of alarms.
I Love Lucy is an American television sitcom starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley. The black-and-white series originally ran from October 15, 1951, to May 6, 1957, on CBS. All 180 episodes aired on Mondays.
In total 180 episodes of I Love Lucy were produced, plus a pilot episode. The pilot, which was not made for broadcast and did not air as part of the show's original run, is generally not counted as one of the episodes and therefore listed separately for reference. It is, however, available on DVD and Blu-ray releases of the first season. Following I Love Lucy, a further 13 one hour-long episodes were produced under the title of The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Show (later and more commonly known in syndication as The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour) with the same cast and later packaged as seasons 7, 8 & 9 under the I Love Lucy series. - Фільми й анімація
This is my absolutely fabulous I Love Lucy episode! Love Barbara Eden in this one!
This has to be one of the funniest episodes of all the I Love Lucy episodes. That “Hiiiii” from Barbara Eden, at least bimbos are timeless!
What episode is this?
@@gracetate9391 It’s from the last season before the show went to the hour format. It’s when Lucy, Ethel, and Betty try to compete with Barbara Eden and glamorize themselves. And of course the results are hilarious, most especially Lucy.
It sure was! I screamed when she walked out and waved!! 🤣

@@gracetate9391’Country Club Dance’ from April 22, 1957.
I love this episode. Its hilarius how the men went crazy. Barbra Eden, a true beauty and a class act.
Clothes were elegant
Well, a country club would have a dress code for the formal events!
"Rickyyy, come on dear!" ☺️
"Raaalph, we're waiting." 😌
"FREEEED!" 😡
“Yes, it’s too late. Coming, honey bunch!!”
😂😂😂
My godmother has only been married 8 years and patiently waits on her husband to get going anywhere. My mother has been with my father for over 30 years...she just yells 😅 love Ethel's shout for Fred 😂
When people got dressed Up & went out.
Well, a country club would have a dress code for the formal events!
Barbara Eden still going strong; she recently turned 91!
Yes, and she doesn't look it at all! Still gorgeous ❤️

She was super beautiful in this episode
WE LOOOVE THIS EPISODE! One of my mother's fand father's avorites!
It's one of my favorites too!
My mother told me to pick yeeewww! 😂
OMG!! I laughed so hard; when the cousin walked out! All three men stood up! Barbara, always was beautiful!! 🤣🤣🤣
In my opinion ann margret has her beat as far as natural beauty ❤
If ann margret was older she would of been an excellent choice in this episode ❤
Fred is always so cranky! 🤗
Being born and raised in Westport Connecticut, someone would always say this is the house that they used for I love Lucy. They did do their research on the town. A lot of things are there till this day. I know it was filmed in Hollywood but a lot of the things they mentioned are still here. The only thing they got wrong was downtown Westport was never called the village. It was always Down Town.
As a New Yorker who grew up in NYC but wasn't born there, I will take your word for it!
Anybody noticed Ethel jumping a lot? It’s the dress.. made her feel like 16 again. ☺️ Young and adorable.
Viv was very pretty at this time of the series Lucy was NOT happy about: she said to make-up man Hal King: "You're making her look too good" (?!)
@@scotnick59 She looked much better with the longer hair.
Would that be the 4th new dress she's bought since she married Fred?
Like this episode.
Barbara tallked about her only son battling with drug addiction. He eventually died of an overdose. Drugs are too powerful and hard to overcome. She is a strong, decent, honest person.
Plus, my late mother told me- she is Barbara Eden's age) that when Barbara and her husband were first married a few years, she then was expecting- she and her husband- and back then they didn't have all the surgery and tests and things to save a baby before it is born, and he baby died while she was expecting and the doctors MADE HER WAIT AND GIVE BIRTH to the poor deceased baby instead of doing a C-section and removing it. My mother thought that was absolutley horrid and terrifying. She saw Barbara on a talk show- I think Dinah Shore years ago in the 70's and she said she was visibly shaken and crying and said it was agony mentally and when the poor baby - a boy (then, like you said, her second son died as an adult of drugs-those were her two only children) was born because he died at like six months along, his skin peeled off and was blue and she said she was so shaken and mentally tortured by that she never got over it.Poor woman.
Just when it was getting good....
They ended it at the best part lol.
I was BORN in the middle of this show…Barbara Eden made her television debut too! April 22, 1957 Daddy watched this while waiting.
when diana walks in all the men "stand up" 😂 racy
Originally telecast on April 22, 1957.
LOVE these. Thank you!!
Barbara Eden looks like a mini Marilyn Monroe here ✨✨✨
She was later in the year in her first TV series How to Marry a Millionaire that lasted from 1957 til 1959 before I Dream of Jeannie 1965 til 1970.
One of my fave episodes. Omg so funny and Barbara Eden was like 23 years old here and Lucille ball was over 40 years old and Lucy still looked as beautiful as barbara did. I gotta admit Barbara looked like a mini Marilyn Monroe. ✨✨✨
I thought the same thing! I love when Lucy grabs her purse on the floor and the dress rips 😆 too funny!
@@christimecarmona6810 the whole episode was so funny. The part when Lucy tries to sit on the couch and slips over there. And she does the face there. Too funny. And when she imitates the girl and says my mother told me to pick you. Lol
I have seen this episode million of times and still my one fave episode. Lol
@maryammure5151 Original air date for this episode was 22nd April, 1957. Barbara Eden was born 23rd August, 1931, making her 25 years old when this episode originally aired. And Lucille Ball was born 6th August, 1911, making her 45 years old when this episode originally aired. By the way Vivian Vance was born 26th July, 1909, making her 47 years old when this episode originally aired. Greetings from Wendy in Australia 🤗
Barbara Eden has always been beautiful with a fantastic figure !
I just watched her in the Andy Griffith show
called the Manicurist.
And again all the men were falling over Barbara Eden 😁. She sure is a beautiful lady🤗💕
Ethel has a new dress and a mink? Poor Fred's wallet must be in shock from seeing the light of day.
Maybe Ethel borrowed Lucy's Mink!
LOL!!! Like she used to borrow her lynx stole and dinner jacket!
The clock in their living room says midnight.
Shhhh ☺️
Ralph be like: "Welllllll!"
Bite my tongue !
A familiar voice from the Flintstones
It’s about time Ethel got some new clothes, instead of Lucy hand me downs
"Ricky, c'mon dear!" ☺️
"Ralph, we're waiting." 😚
"FREEED!" 🤬
The funny thing is that this episode probably mirrored Lucy’s reality living with Desi. Ironic.
Barbara Eden recalled she tried to avoid Desi off camera as much as possible, because she heard of his reputation of trying to "stalk" young blondes on the "I LOVE LUCY" set. And Lucy *KNEW* his habit of trying to make time with them. However, she couldn't have been more nicer to Barbara; she even helped pick out her wardrobe for the episode.
Imagine trying to help a young beautiful woman you knew your husband was trying to bed down. This season ended the half hour series. Their marriage soon followed.@@fromthesidelines
Lucy was more helpful with Barbara than her close friend Ann Sothern was. When Barbara appeared on "PRIVATE SECRETARY" {"SUSIE"} a few months before, she got the "cold shoulder" from Ann {"We don't need a rehearsal! Let's just shoot this and get it over with"}.....and overheard her make-up artist talking to her on the phone, insisting, "I'm sorry, Miss Sothern, there's nothing I can do to make her look bad." Ann was abrupt and insensitive towards her. "No smile, nothing."
Karma? Sothern went on to "star" in My Mother The Car!😁😁😁😁@@fromthesidelines
Ann intended to appear with Lucy on an occasional basis on "THE LUCY SHOW" as "Countess Framboise" (aka "Rosie"). However, after seven episodes in 1965, she and Lucy had a falling out during an episode ["Lucy and the Undercover Agent"]- and they never worked together again. "MY MOTHER THE CAR" lasted one season.
Wow that chic that came in at the end was quite a dish.
Barbara Eden!
Stunning Goddess of Love. 😃
And the men suddenly had all the energy and of men 20 years their junior, and they danced all night with the beauty that was "Grace's" cousin. One of my favorite episodes, even though I didn't like the Connecticut version of ILL.
One of my favorite parts of the Connecticut episodes was the fact that their house seemed E N O R M O U S and C A V E R N O U S, especially the living room set. I loved the den too on the left side of the front door, but I never cared for the kitchen setup.
Ethel with a fur coat? Quick check Fred's temperature. He must be ill!
Kinette, how could you cut that at the best part of the scene? I love the fact that Lucille Ball wanted to sign Barbara to be part of the Desilu family because she loved her "comic timing" as per Barbara's recollections but she had just been accepted by Fox so she had to decline.
See! Everytime I watch I love Lucy episode, it only shows a tiny clip. I hate that! I get into it and then it comes to an end! ☹
I totally agree with you.
Plot twist. Ethel found Fred's secret cash stash and went on a secret shopping spree.💵🛒🛍️🤫
Coming hunny bun
Really❤❤
Love how everyone is wearing furs
😡
I’m very disappointed because I found that episodes are not full, can never see the end.

Man they took commitments seriously back then. Didn't suddenly call in when someone was expecting them just because they were tired. Nowadays people make commitments and then call 5 minutes before to cancel and think nothing of it.

Apparently Lucy and Caroline Appleby have called a truce.
Don't recall seeing Carolyn Appleby in this video.. I saw Betty Ramsey, Grace Munson and Ethel Mertz..
@@Nunofurdambiznez Little Ricky is staying at the Appleby's!
That’s Betty Ramsey
Why do Fred and Ethel have to go everywhere Lucy go?
Don’t they have their own friends?
They don’t have better friends then Ricky and Lucy. They took them to Hollywood, Europe and to live out in the country.
@@KCohere33 Really though, who's best friends are their landlords?
@@trevorblue4531do you realize this was just a TV show that was the idea for the show Ethel and Fred will be their landlords and also their best friends and Fred Ethel and Ricky and Lucy always went places together. And y'all take stuff to seriously especially things that happened way before you were born.
@@aintnothingliketheoldskool Yeah, just saying it would be strange! Or like on The Jeffersons, where their in laws are their best friends!
