      Eye cream is in a scan in most cases but there are definitely a few times when it’s no. The area is more sensitive so a retinol type product specifically for the eyes make sense. Also, Simon suffers from dark circles, caffeine eye creams are solution for that, especially because they wouldn’t need to use the caffeine all over their face, it’s a kin to the spot treatment.

    The Essence Toner is a holy grail for me. My super sensitive skin loves it. No matter how upset my skin gets, I can use it, and it helps. I haven’t found another piece of skincare that I can say that about.

    Dr Dray in her review of the black tea line said you don't need everything especially if you were concerned about the prices. She said for her, the toner was better than the serum (since the ingredients seemed pretty similar). She admitted together they give an extra hydration boost but both aren't necessary again based on the price. She liked the eye patches and the face cream. She said the eye cream is nice but for her it's not necessary same with the face mask. She also mentioned some of their other products that she likes.

      Thank you for sharing! I think that’s how I ended up choosing the toner over the serum - it looked similar but was more bang for your buck. Very good to have that confirmed by the Doc haha 😆

    Alice you need to try the PYL Intensive Repair Cream - It is by far the richest cream in the entire PYL line. I'm 43 with super dry skin and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing this cream is for the price point!! 😍 It has really good ingredients and is super emollient AND occlusive with a luxurious texture - very similar in feel to the Skinceuticals Tripple Lipid Restore which is my absolute fav moisturiser (but so expensive 😪). I've tried at least 100 different moisturisers in my time and this cream ranks a close second after TLR. It really is the hidden gem of the whole PYL line imo. Love your content Alice ❤️

    I stumbled into this brand kinda by accident in my first YesStyle order years ago. My first love was their blue ATO body lotion - it sinks in easily but still moisturizes and doesn’t have ANY scent (not even an unfragranced tinge). I quite liked the black tea eye cream and their toners and essences, but I dabble in so many brands in those categories that I haven’t repurchased. Their thin cotton pads are nice for not soaking up too much product - those are what I use to apply my SK-II toner. Yep, I will continue to buy this brand!
    Loved your Led Zeppelin reference. I sometimes wonder how many of the younger generation have absolutely no idea who these classic artists are (just like I have no idea who the current artists are). Even though the interwebs give us access to all the music we could ever want, the sheer amount is too much to absorb. This is true of many fields, it’s just how time works, but it’s interesting to ponder how many of the songs we love/d might never be known in the future. Sure there will be a record of them, but will people sing along? Feeling introspective and -old- WISE on this rainy Friday. 😆

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  Рік тому +1

      OHHH I have to tell you this one!! So I was browsing the new section of urban outfitters, kind of mindlessly as I wasn’t planning on buying anything (lol). And I kept seeing band tees right. I found myself doing such a double take at the bands on these shirts. It’s 2023. Do you know what bands these were? Rage against the machine. Nirvana. Pink Floyd. Phish. Dave Matthews Band. 🤯🤯🤯
      I thiiink that what’s happening is: people like good music. And good music is timeless, but it’s always been linked to generations in the past (I think because of the way radio worked? Like having your rock station, your pop station, your “oldies” in its own spot…)
      I think that now people just seek out good music now vs a genre/station? Maybe? Or I’m optimistic lol. But I can say as someone who has always had that approach, I like some of the new music too (SZA and Lil Nas X are some of my newer favs). It’s interesting times!!

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole Yes, so true! That's the "on the other hand" for sure. I had a similar experience when I caught a snippet of The Voice on TV and the contestant was singing a Michael McDonald song. I was like "is half the audience going to know this??" hahaha
      And yeah, being served a very limited repertoire via radio had it's pros/cons. I think the current algorithms do a pretty good job of serving me some newness mixed in with my favorite 70-90's stuff. They try anyway. 😆I really look to my friends to help with that as well, so thank you for the recs!

    I managed to buy 6 of those mini eye cream for less than $7 from their official online shop (during sale) in southeast asia. I basically got a full size moisturiser (9ml x 6 = 54ml) for very affordable price. With pyunkang yul, they are usually very affordable and still manage to give us products with very nice texture that is hard for me to get from other brands at the same price point. Also we have monthly sales here that I dont think I ever buy products from them at full price anymore 😂
    But I guess I wont buy the other products in black tea line for now cuz I think the price is a bit out of my budget for me to keep buying them in case I like the products

      Hmm that’s a good question. I suspect it has, but it might not always be explicitly stated. For example, I see the influence of K-Beauty in western brands now (Tower 28, Peach & Lily, etc). So maybe it’s that the online beauty community impacted the way brands create and formulate, which impacts customers in a more disconnected way in the end?

    Its interesting, I was not that impressed with the black tea eye cream, I thought it was just ok. Saying that as a dry skin girl as well, and an insomniac. Still have not tried the black tea toner, but their Essence Toner is my HG toner. So now dying to try that one. The intensive repair cream I thought was just fine (sorry other Alice fans that love it). Still searching for my HG Kbeauty eye cream & moisturizer! Closest for the latter I have found is the old formulation of the Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream. I did also like the Huxley Sahara cream for night only

      Thank you for sharing! Is it that you’re looking for a rich moisturizer? Those are kind of hard to find in K-Beauty. I’d say my top two picks are numbuzin no.2 cream and Sioris deep in a barrier (note that the Sioris does have EOs though).

      Have you tried Beauty of Joseon’s eye cream? It has retinal (with an a not o) in it. I’ve heard many good things about it, and that it can be used as a face cream not just an eye cream. People are raving about it. I’m gonna give it a try.

    Do u recommend getting the calming moisture repair cream to treat redness or should I just buy a cream that literally is made for redness like the cetaphil redness relief?

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  Рік тому

      I suppose it does depend on what’s causing the redness, but in general, it’s a wise idea to start with targeted treatments (ie azelaic acid, madecassoside, artemisia, licorice) and round out your routine with other calming products to boost barrier efficacy. The right actives + calming “support” makes for a very effective routine! 😃

      @chetnasingh2020 Рік тому +1

      It's not supposed to spread
      It's a sealant You're supposed to just pat it on specially on areas which are prone to dehydration

      ^thats correct! It’s an unusual texture, almost gloopy (..errr. That’s a word, right? Right. 😆)

      It’s not too different from ordering within your country, you just have to provide a phone number (this is standard for int’l as the post office does NOT want to have to send it back; they want to get it to you - and will call if needed!)

    I looked up the serum ( black tea ) and 67 ingredients 😮 thats so insane to me. Idk but when I see that many ingredients in a product, it makes me think that the good ingredients can't be a high percentage. Not saying its not a great product though. I tend to stay clear of products with a ton of ingredients because if my skin freaks out, I'll most likely never find out what ingredient it was lol

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole

      I definitely understand that perspective!! I tend to reach for my short INCI products when my skin is having a rough time. It does reduce the variables for problems, indeed!

    I want to love and buy the black tea serum-toner but they have silicone and I use multiple serums so I try to keep silicones to the moisturizer step to prevent the silicones from blocking my serums from absorbing since it creates a film and tends to lock things in. but if I only had a one or two step routine I would totes buy the black tea toner and the Neogene micro ferment serum(not shown in the video lol).
