I love learning about skin care! Especially from you. I’m 45 and started about a year ago when I got sober. The combination of no alcohol, getting exercise, drinking lots of water, eating well and your recommended K-Beauty has made me feel and look terrific! So thank you! ❤
Alice shouting out "Post-biotics!!!" 😂🤣 Seriously though, I'm so glad you reviewed this new BOJ sunscreen, because as someone with dry skin I would have stayed away, and instead I just added it to my cart. Can't wait to try it, thank you!
Oh I'm for sure going to try the new BoJ sunscreen. I can't ignore the barely contained enthusiasm in your voice. Nope, not this time. 🙂 I'm also curious about the Skin1004 Probio-Cica Glow Sun Ampoule. I really like that whole line of products. I used to gripe at myself for wanting to try new sunscreens all the time but honestly I've found it's worth it to keep up to date on new technologies/ingredients. And okay it's also fun. 😂
I am actually blown away by the BOJ sunscreen. And this is coming from someone who was real neutral about the OG haha! 🤣 I’ll have to see what skin1004 is up to these days, thanks for mentioning that!
I will probably try the new BOJ sunscreen at some point. Also thanks for the new FTC guidelines. I wish YT would adopt them regardless of the UA-camr’s country. It would get rid of so many ridiculous sponsorships! ❤
Hi Alice, the only thing I would like brands to consider is what type of skin a product is intended for, whether it is dry or oily, because otherwise you buy products that have very good ingredients in the inci, they are not for you, because it always happens when you eagerly buy a product and it happens, as happened to you on this occasion, that they were not enough for your skin type and as has happened to me too. A hug Alice and I hope you are very well and happy 🥰
YES. Yep I really respect the brands that are super clear about this (it’s so few and far between that I can name the consistent brand: Bonajour! Good for them 👏)
Great review! I was excited about the new Anua Toner, I'm glad you reviewed it so that I didn't end up buying it and being disappointed! (I prefer really really milky toners). Anyway, thanks! Great video as always :D
I was curious about that Arencia mochi cleanser but reluctant in purchasing it mainly because of the slight inconvenience of it being in a jar and not a pump or squeezable tube. (It also looked yummy even tho I wasn’t planning on eating it 😜) My favorite cleanser is 107’s Chaga Jelly cleanser. I love the scent and the texture is the most unique that I’ve come across. It has slip and a slight bounce to it. It’s also super gentle. They use their signature 7-year aged vinegar as their star ingredient. *It looks like they renewed the cleanser and they now use a 3-year aged fermented mugwort vinegar for this cleanser. I hope this is just as good as their original that I loved.
I might have to snag the new BOJ sunscreen as it doesn’t have niacinimide lol!! Sometimes I find myself overdoing it in the mornings after applying a serum with niacinimide and then a sunscreen with it on top. That arencia product is basically a normal cleansing foam in a pot LOL but good on them for finding a unique way to market it. Hope you’re doing well!
Oh Alice, I thought of you so much today! I'm visiting Toronto from Australia, and in the Eaton Mall there is a store called Kiokii And... which has Asian beauty!! I got to PLAY with products!!! I saw the Flower Knows! Yes, I need that many exclamation points. I went around and around and stayed until my feet hurt. Prices were good. They ship to the States. Thank you for all your videos, I felt so much more informed. PS Sadly, Canada doesn't allow the good sunscreens either, so no new BOJ for me yet.
I finished my Numbuzin No1 Clear Filter Sunscreen and my local KBeauty store was out. They just happened to be unpacking the new BOJ one. Nothing to lose, despite it being the last few days of winter it’s already a bajillion degrees where I live. I will go without other items, but not sunscreen.
Thank you for reviewing the Dr.G SPF, sounds perfect for oily sensitive skin types. You don't know how many people want try demi-matte to matte formulas these days. I like Hybrids under makeup even though I'm combo but my skin is really dry these days due to a medications I'm taking so I would feel the same about using it unless I have some type of skin irritating condition.
The Dr G SPF is a favorite of mine and I have combo skin that leans oily in the summer. Also, I don’t like dewy finishes because I was a teen in the 90s… 😅
Excited to try the new BOJ sunscreen, waiting for my order. Curious about the cleanser because of my aging, acne prone, oily T-zone. Thank you Alice for taking us down the rabbit hole once again! ❤
All these new releases are so tempting! Have you seen the Arencia mochi cleanser? I think the texture would be so fun to use! Did you see the Skin1004 postbiotic cica sun ampoule? They are definitely competing with BOJ. I think it would be great for the winter!
It’s the same cleanser! I should probably more that somewhere- they say they are changing the name (but packaging may say artisan cleanser for a while, which is good. Better to sell out old stock than waste it!)
Hello! Dr.G has the same blemish moisturizer but with more moisture (supposedly) their blemish clear moisture line. I’ve been really struggling to find something to actually hydrate my deeply dehydrated skin yet not break me out ugh lol. I want to try their toner next in this same line.
I think It's more similar to the Rice Pure Essential Toner from "Thank You Farmer ". Both have similar active ingredients, and even the consistencies are a bit similar.
Thanks for your review of the dr. G blemish cream. I was thinking about getting it and now I might later when it goes on sale. I’m oily/combo and my brother is oily. He will probably like it!
Hi Alice! Great video as always. I would love to see a review from you on the Dr. Althea moisturizers particularly the barrier cream. Looks really nice for us dry sensitive gals.
Thanks for reviewing the new BoJ sunscreen right away, Alice! Can't wait to try it! Question: Are you doing a video on the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale? Looks like the list of sale products is out! I love it when you go through the sale items and tell us what you think is good and what's not :)
Originally I was not going to purchase the BOJ sunscreen because of its marketing away from dry skin, but this has me thinking. On the one hand I might grab it, and knowing your review I probably won't regret it, but I figure since every generation of these sunscreen bases has a ton of brands using them with slight deviations it won't be long until a brand comes out with a more moisturizing deviation and I'd likely prefer that. Worst case I probably have a year of sunscreens in my drawer and if nothing comes out before then I prefer I can add to cart. The cleanser looks weird though and I may try that... if it goes half off somewhere. I'm most excited for the HaruHaru, but I already have it in my drawer for when something runs out. Interestingly enough I won't have an issue remembering to shake it because I have a habit of shaking all essences/toners as I pick them up for some reason. I don't recommend putting a marker on it though because if you use multiple toners or even have wet hands it may dissolve it a bit (as we see with some packaging) and you'll end up with it on your face. No guarantee this'll happen, but I wouldn't want to end up with sharpie on my face.
Oh dear I’m glad you mentioned that with the sharpie!! Yes, that’s probably best not to do (reminds me of the Tatcha sunscreen and the flaking label, ughhh) I relate to your shake-everything with one specific category: foundation. I always shake every foundation before I apply it lol. If only I could get myself to do that with toner!!
Hello Alice 😃 Oh, Beauty of Joseon - I wasn't going to purchase anything until Black Friday (because really, who passes up Black Friday sales). But, I digress - I will purchase the new Beauty of Joseon SPF - definitely! The cleanser and the rest of the products I will definitely wait on these - even though the cleanser looks interesting. 🥰. Those cute little scoops that are included - I have quite the collection, but surprisingly I use them all of the time - but they are like that "one" sock those goes missing - I lose them as well, so glad I receive so many in different skincare. 🤣
Ah! If you ever find a perfect tub for the scoops, make it the storage system for all of them. I never lose them now (I use an old Milk Makeup tube), and now I have too many scoops 🤣😂
Was definitely waiting for that new BoJ sunscreen, I have added it to my cart for sure. I have gotten my work colleague and one of my friends in Japan into Korean sunscreen too! I saw that Anua is on sale at some of the UK korean skincare sites (obvs marked up in price compared to Stylevana...), I do want to try it as a I like the brand, it's a pity the korean sites decided not to ship that particular brand here as I hate paying more than i need too. The Anua milk toner looks very similar to the purito rice toner with the same light texture
That’s so bizarre, I wonder why they stopped shipping. It usually has to do with contracts (for example, YesStyle pulled Primera for us, and next thing we knew they were at Sephora for a lot more $$). Wonder if Anua will show up at one of your retailers?
@@AliceintheRabbitHole yeah its shown up at the UK KBeauty retailers like skin2seoul, skin cupid, hello seoul etc.. and also Amazon UK, but way higher in price :(
It’s so hard to answer that as the quality of the ginseng matters as well, not just the age. The idea is that black ginseng is the most aged, and thus will have the highest concentration of saponins. But yes, quality matters as well (not to mention formulation). Sorry if that doesn’t help much!
Alice, I guess I missed the video in which you discussed butyloctyl salicylate. It’s an ingredient I cannot use, but I’m interested in understanding why it’s being included in so many sunscreens. In which video or videos do you explain about it?
Sunscreens for sensitive skin! But I’ll give you the short version here: It’s an ingredient that looks and acts like octisalate, but because it’s not a registered sunscreen filter, companies are using it to up the efficacy of sunscreens Which is super shady if the brand also says things like “we only use mineral filters because they are safer!” 🤨
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Thank you for that information and for your insight. It’s ironic to me that it’s marketed for sensitive skin when it’s the only ingredient in many of these formulas that my sensitive skin can’t tolerate.
I know you are most likely going to do a skincare device video before Black Friday (hopefully, please oh please do one) ❤❤❤ I have sensitive skin and I know you do - have you ever had any reaction or "trial period time" with Red light therapy masks? I was looking at one that is made in Canada - it is from a company called Kala - the Kala Face Mask - it looks very good, and very comparable to the competition. I do know that I will definitely purchase the Medicube Age-R Booster H device on Black Friday - I know I will use this! Is is necessary to have both? Are there pros and cons to using both? With sensitive skin - is one better than the other? I know, so many questions! Thanks so much!
It’s hard to say whether it’s necessary to have both as that question hasn’t been studied in a clinical context 😕 I do use both, more so because I count on my RLT (and BLT) for fighting inflammation/bacteria, booster pro for getting more from my products, and lately I’ve added NEWA to see how radiofrequency impacts my neck/jaw (still tbd). But I love using devices, and skincare in general, so this isn’t a chore nor too much of a $$ for me. That’s where there is going to be individual variability!

Alice, I have the absolute OILIEST skin of anyone i've ever met and this new sunscreen from BoJ is making me second guess my stylevana cart 😭. Would you recommend the new BoJ aqua fresh or the Numbuzin no 1 SPF for someone who prioritizes that products be as lightweight and hydrating (but not moisturizing) as possible?
The sheet masks from SE? Yep! That and the biodance were very similar. I think they went viral because they are nice to use yes, but mostly for that white to clear effect (people like visual cues haha!) Not familiar with Asis-Tobe though!
I've never purchased from outside the US but it's time !!! Now that Amazon no longer sales alot of Korean sunscreen 😢 I'm thinking YesStyle. Has anyone ordered from YesStyle ?? Is a good place to order from?
Stylevana has the best prices, Stylekorean ships fastest, and YesStyle has the best selection I’ve never dealt with Stylekorean for customer service, but I will say they package the best out of everyone. YesStyle is where I’ve ordered the most (since 2017!) and I’ve had 2 issues out of …I’m scared to see how many orders I’ve placed LOL. Customer service quickly replaced my damaged items. I truly don’t know what to tell you with stylevana at the moment. I never had issues in 4 years of orders. Turns out, one CS issue might change how I feel about them (though I’m still awaiting their resolution). Pay with PayPal with all these retailers just in case, it’s the best option and I’m shocked it’s fallen a bit out of favor I plan to try olive young in the near future! Hope that’s helpful!
Based in NZ I love Yesstyle and had no issues with them. Alice has a dedicated video on the main korean websites such as OliveYoung, StyleKorean and Yesstyle plus discount codes for you to use :).
Yeah 😞 although to their credit, I didn’t see them really highlighting it as any kind of active (that level is just part of the antioxidant complex I’d say!)
@6:05 I disagree, as most women are HIGHLY aware of ingredients. If it looks good, that's just a bonus. 😅 Additionally, I think we have a Tsunami of Sunscreens available but not enough water resistant, and tinted options from Korean brands. 😢
Really? I feel like people IRL ask me about hydraulic acid in skincare (🙈 no that was not a typo). However, in online circles, yes I love the curiosity and desire to learn!! I turn to J-Beauty for those types of sunscreens!
I've taken to taking a picture with my phone, changing it to black and white, then upping the contrast to be able to read boxes these days. My kid tells me it's very embarrassing that I'll do this in the aisle at the store.

I've never purchased from outside the US but it's time !!! Now that Amazon no longer sales alot of Korean sunscreen 😢 I'm thinking YesStyle. Has anyone ordered from YesStyle ?? Is a good place to order from?
I recommend stylekorean shipping is so fast
Stylevana has the best prices, Stylekorean ships fastest, and YesStyle has the best selection
I’ve never dealt with Stylekorean for customer service, but I will say they package the best out of everyone. Pay with PayPal with all these retailers just in case, it’s the best option and I’m shocked it’s fallen a bit out of favor
I plan to try olive young in the near future! Hope that’s helpful!
Based in NZ I love Yesstyle and had no issues with them. Alice has a dedicated video on the main korean websites such as OliveYoung, StyleKorean and Yesstyle plus discount codes for you to use :).
One reviewer I saw experienced pilling with the new BoJ sunscreen, even without any products prior to application. Any expefience with that so far?
I rarely experience this (but when I do, I want to throw products immediately into the trash lol)
No issues personally!
I didn’t realize the level of SAscPh was so low in that Axis-Y cream 😭
Yeah 😞 although to their credit, I didn’t see them really highlighting it as any kind of active (that level is just part of the antioxidant complex I’d say!)
Im mad at BOJ for horribly reformulating their cleansing oil… now it has essential oils and coconut oil
Wait for real!? Whaaaat!!! Why would they do this??
ACK?!?! Why would they do that!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole i dont know🥲🥲🥲 it happened in april i believe. My skin did not like it!! Check their website.. its not really talked about much
Wait how does the BoJ has Mexoryl in it when it is Loreal patented?
I would like to know that as well!
@6:05 I disagree, as most women are HIGHLY aware of ingredients. If it looks good, that's just a bonus. 😅
Additionally, I think we have a Tsunami of Sunscreens available but not enough water resistant, and tinted options from Korean brands. 😢
Really? I feel like people IRL ask me about hydraulic acid in skincare (🙈 no that was not a typo). However, in online circles, yes I love the curiosity and desire to learn!!
I turn to J-Beauty for those types of sunscreens!
Hey, fam, did you hear they're saying Alice sleeps upside down like a bat?
It’s what they’re saying! 🦇🙃
Shut up😂your making me wanna buy it but but but is it better than the Cosrx Ultra Light formula?
I haven’t tried that one, but it does share those mexoryl filters! This has Tinosorb S & benzoyl salicylate as well tho.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I have not but I have the Cosrx on its way now
Long names and unreadable writing tick me off! Lol. I have to get a magnifying glass. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
YUP lol, I am absolutely groaning IRL when I see white ingredients on pastel backgrounds lol. Hope you have a great week too! 🥰
I've taken to taking a picture with my phone, changing it to black and white, then upping the contrast to be able to read boxes these days. My kid tells me it's very embarrassing that I'll do this in the aisle at the store.
@@ashcraft555 Very good idea. Happy Monday ❌️ ⭕️
