Me 2. So tired of the music so loud can't hear the video message, stupid edits that are stupid and nonsense. I miss the early days of social media where ppl just shared info and had a point. If u liked the info we watched, if not we didn't. And you could ask a question and it'd be answered quickly cause ppl actually knew what they was talking about. Now I just see a million ads about making lotsa money at home and comments from hoes in a comment section about diarrhea. Selling sex in a poop video. No I don't want your hot carls, so go to OF.

You have to purchase the mineral rights on a claim before you ever pan for gold. If you don’t do this continuously until you pay off the claim you never break even. It’s not a leisurely activity when you have to stress out about breaking even.

I lived near the Bradshaw mountains in Arizona which was a popular gold mining area back when. People still get gold there. One day one of my neighbors was walking his dog down a nearby creek bed that had been flowing the past few days after a big storm but was basically dried out when he was walking down it. He found a big gold nugget just sitting there in the rocks. Must have been half the size of the palm of his hand. I haven't seen any stories about it online so I'm guessing he kept it pretty quiet, I moved from that area shortly after. I always say when I get older I'm going to do some gold digging in those mountains.

Don't listen to these morons, Panning is an valuable tool in any gold miners arsenal, for testing "Pay Dirt" (dirt that's dug from a claim and believed to contain gold)
It's handy in calculating how much fine gold and nuggets may be inside the dirt. Say you pan 1kg of dirt and calculate it you'll get a rough estimate from what you can expect from processing each tonne at a wash plant.
Also that's not 10c of gold. Gold is incredibly dense and that looks to be about $4 worth.
There's many ways of mining gold and panning is still used in two of the three main ways.
And even the third way people with detectors will still sometimes pan for gold as well especially when they get lots of smaller targets, this might indicate if it's worth hiring the equipment to process truck loads of dirt.
Tl,dr panning is used to indicate if a claim is viable to be processed.

But even so if you can work hard and pay of an entire mortgage in a few years rhag safety net is invaluable.
For instance I live in the most expensive city in Australia for property, my 5 bed room house is worth 1.6 million. Even though I earn a very good wage for my work and position (Electrician, 130k AUD a year 36 hour weeks) I'll still be paying my mortgage in 10 years time easily.
So for me the opportunity go own my house outright within a few years would be all the incentive I need, and if I lived in America I guess you kinda need to go to college otherwise you won't get decent money whereas in Australia it's completely different.

I met a gold panner years ago, back when I lived in Calgary, and after some *major* flooding, he came into the store where I worked, all frustrated and shit, so I asked what was up.
Apparently, after major floods like that, lots of gold gets washed into certain areas of rivers (the wide, slower sections where the gold can sink to the bottom, he said), and unfortunately for him, the city of Calgary didn't allow any form of gold hunting along any of those lengths of the river, due to the damage it could cause if gold _was_ found and too many people took to panning the river.

My uncle from Rumford Maine his name was Lundy Conti.. and he invented this little machine but it was just a conveyor belt with tilt levels three or four of them in a row and what it was designed to do was to take the dirt with gold in it and thin it out so it could be looked at more easily and because there was different thickness screens there could be different results at different tilt levels and I believe that was the beginning of automation of gold recovery and that was something that my uncle did in Rumford Maine

There are still many rivers, and other similar bodies of water in the US where gold can be abundantly. Of course, these locations are not public knowledge.

There's a documentary on UA-cam based in India, not sure which city but there are 3 guys who clean out the sewers behind gold shops and one of the guys sifts through all sorts including excrement by getting in the sewer, its really foul. In the hope to find a few grams of gold. They find tiny fragments and go through some kind of chemical and burning process that messes their lungs up. If only it was this easy for them, I'm sure they would spend hours prospecting for gold.
