  • Failte and Welcome to Eire Rider my name is Ben.
**Apologies for the poor sound quality of the talking, the mic had reset itself to rear instead of front for some reason and only picked this up later** You can use captions to help you when my words are not clear enough.
This part of the Park can be viewed without paying for the tour so you will be added into my Places that are free entry playlist.
This episode will take us through Lough Key Forest and Activity Park walks. The stunning forest has many forest walks you can take. I tried to most of the walks however it isn't always possible and I reckon i did quite well with this video.
You can find this location here, using google maps. This is the google plus code and is unique to Lough Key.

    Fairy Bridge
    Nature Walk
    Drummans Bridge
    Various Quays on the property
    Ruined Church
    Bog Garden
Drone footage of the Lake and area
If you missed Part 1 I would highly recommend you watch it first. Link is below:
    • Discover Lough key For...
Lough Key Forest and land comprised 2400 acres back when the lands were occupied by the King family who were a prominent family in this area and Kings house in Boyle was the family home before moving to Kingston Hall in 1771 where many renovations were completed into the late 18th century.
In 1809/10 Lord Lorton commissioned the great architect John Nash to build what would become Rockingham House.
The entire estate cost a whopping £400 000 back in the day which is around €30m today!
The lands we see today are around 800 hectares as some of the land was sold to the department of forestry.
Lough Key park is full of interesting places and they have made some tours you can take to explore the area.
I took the Remembering Rockingham house tour which cost €10. (I was not sponsored for the making of this episode)
The attractions in the park include the following:
    Zip Line adventure
    Boat rental
Remembering Rockingham house which includes a Tree top canopy walk (only one in Ireland)
    Walking and Cycling trails
    Orienteering & Wheel O Trails
    Boda Borg
    Kayaking
    Electric Bike trails
    Cafe
    Foods stalls
    Lough Key Marina
Its very extensive with Picnic areas and benches to sit and view the area.
You could very easily spend hours here. I must of been here for 3 hours in all.
Pre Covid figures put visitors at around 150 000 a year.
Well worth a visit, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for watching and see you in the next video.

Just a quick note. Unfortunately the mic was set to the rear when I changed it to my other camera. Unfortunately my main go pro froze a few times and ended up changing it out. Apologies for the sound quality in some shots.
