I live in Tinahely, and there are even more walks than you mentioned! I've done some of the others around Ireland you mentioned, and they are wonderful. I just found your channel and can't wait to find more walks to try!
I live in the Slieve Bloom' area ( monicknew area) and as you say Its a haven of magnificent scenery and fab views. No end to the selections of great trails for both walking and biking in this mountain region.super area also for road cycling and fab villages. Thanks Ellie and Carl for showing it on youtube.
Love all these walks I grow up a mile up up the rd towards the lane from Cadamstown to the Giants Grave and I walked and cycled all these mountains.....Great vlog guys
Just set a new goal to get out hiking more and you were the first youtube video that came up on my search. I'm based in N Ireland so will start up here and then... who knows. Thank you for your recommendations.
Great information and great hikes 👍🏽👍🏽 yes I have some recommendations. Come out hike in Australia 🇦🇺 Have a great day Ellie. Day G’day to Carl. Cheers ~ Joseph
Hey Ellie, thanks for this informative video! 👍 I wanted to ask if you or anyone else you know organizes day walking/ hiking trips? Thanks for your help!
Hey! So yeah there’s loads of options, depending on what you’re looking for. Some that spring to the top of my mind are: Galz Gone Wild Jason Black Mountaineering Nature Therapy Ireland Suile Eile Mountain Odyssey Hope that helps! - ellie ☺️
Hello! Thank you for sharing these beautiful hiking trails, will be doing some hiking in April and I wanted to ask if trekking poles are even needed. I don't use them every time I hike once when hiking in the Sierra's in CA and a few times when there was a lot of snow. I don't want to pack them if they are really not needed. Thanks!
Hi, Thanks for your question! Personally, we don’t use them, and for a lot of Irish trails I would say they’re not necessary. So if you haven’t experienced a personal benefit, then you might not need them! They’re useful for very boggy sections and testing if the ground is stable to walk on, and for very steep descents. Hope that helps! - Ellie
I got to the USA for the first time this year and managed to squeeze in a couple of tiny hikes - and it’s confirmed that some day Id really love to go over just for hiking! On the bucket list for sure ☺️
Thanks for the video but why are all maps for hikes in ireland always impossible to read and blurry. Can we not just draw the route clearly on google maps?
We have had the same problem with inconsiderate and selfish "wild campers" this year in Scotland, sadly. The effects of lockdown have been, and will be, very far-reaching. Good that you are spreading the word , though.
I’m sad to hear Scotland is suffering the same problems. I’m hoping that lockdown has made more people realise how much we all need nature, and while some people have been a problem, the rest can learn from it? Trying to stay optimistic! Otherwise I’ll loose hope 😅
Initially when I came to Ireland from Britain I was a bit flumuxed by the lack of public footpaths over private land. I found it difficult to find walks with proper maps until I discovered the AllTrails app. Now I am much happier
I’m a avid fisherman so I’m in places many people don’t be too unless your on a boat or fighting through bushes and Iv seen terrible waste being left behind by inconsiderate people. Makes me very sad

Castletownbere to Allihies, part of the Beara Way. Only 13km but a lovely one day hike that offers beautiful views on the descent into Allihies.
I'm planning a trip to Ireland and was looking for some hiking recommendations. This is so helpful! The Slieve Bloom area looks especially awesome. :)

Very Nice.
These hikes look a lot like the blue ridge in the USA. Absolutely beautiful.

Perfect, can I post some scenes on my Channel citing you?
You have gorgeous eyes!
Is she Irish? Her accent sounds slightly American to me. I’m not really familiar with all the Irish accents. I’m genuinely intrigued
I’m Irish! Just have one of the less strong accents :)
Definitely Irish, East Leinster accent
