This was (3.0) great until Trey wimped out of the jam and went into one of the worst songs in recorded music history (Everything's Right). His ego is single-handedly damaging these shows.
Jerry Aldeens set 2 was 🔥🔥 You're expectations and ego are damaging your view of phish, homie. Better second set of tour. What would you have preferred?
Your delusion and lack of honesty regarding what you are hearing impact yours. ANYTHING but an atrocious, wish-I-was-a-real-rock star, awful 80's style ballad from Trey would have sufficed. GITF and other side projects have no place in Phish, and have further diluted what was once a quality band. Ruby Waves is awful, yet people genuflect over the 38-minute version because it is long, not because it is good. At least it was a shorter version of that garbage song at this show. Boring and bland Blaze On to close short main set, and a 4-song encore that seemed long only because of the short second set. Below average show to me.
@@jerryaldeens3903 you make good points. I was at this show and I hadn't seen them in a few years. It was a competent show with some highlights but overall it felt like the band has drifted into grateful dead mono tempo. Every song felt like the same groove and energy. You're right about the current fans in the way they talk about performances. They highlight playing a song for a half hour but have no judgment about the quality. A lot of the new songs are too happy floaty ethereal for me. I'm a 90's fan and there's just no comparison then and now. There's a fire missing but I can't hold it against them. What can you expect from a band that's been together this long
yessir... thanks.
