On my van it keeps thinking the door is open with the door ajar light appearing on the dash, if I try and lock the van it thinks one of the doors is open and immediately unlocks it again. Is this a similar problem yours had? I just want to know before I tear into it trying to fix a problem that's different than what I want to fix
@@sethdawg Same issue with my Ford Transit connect 2013 ,i descover the problem is located in the rear door. The closing hook must go completely down, if it does not do so, pressing the close button from the control will not close them because the door open light on the van's dashboard is still on. That is all I have done. discovered this problem, I still haven't found the definitive solution
I fixed!!!¡!!This problem may be because one of the 3 doors has a bad sensor and the dashboard reads it as if it were open. In my case the problem was with the Rear door. In order to do the bonding it is a little more complicated because there are 6 cables and They are exactly the same color (black). So, what I did was: Scrape a metal part of the rear door and anchor or drill a hole to screw in a screw with a cable, this will be my Ground. Afterwards, I disconnected the connector with the 6 cables from the rear door and made contact with each wire until the fuse burns. You will know what I have done because the remote control will not work. Then I went to the vehicle's dashboard and left it on and the door light was still on, so I made contact with each wire of the connector until I found the cable that turns off the door open light on the rear door. Once you find it, you just cut it and join it to the ground cable that you had already screwed to the metal of the door. Then you just replace the fuse number 163, it is 20 amps. This fuse is located on the driver's side, in the third row, it is the fourth fuse from the right to the left. Once you replace it, the remote control will work to close the doors.
Just did this exact procedure on my 2011 connect passenger door , its the same lock as back doors ... and OMG it worked thanks 🤘
Got the same issue with my van, Will try that in the morning.... thanks.
Brilliant video, I'll give this a go thank you
Is the lock still working ok? Just wondered if after a while taking the spring out had any effect.
Yes it's been fine

Grr I can’t get the white clip off! Any tips please?!
Hey what year of transit connect is this? I was wondering if it's a 1st gen or 2nd gen
Great hack sorted my issue 👍
How can i get the lock cylinder cover off to remove the actuator??
There is a plate you need to slide out and also a tab to press, and twist with the key in the lock
I wonder if this would also work on my passenger door that has the same problem ...
Yes it also works for the front doors!
Ah so the front door locks have the same spring as the back door ? Thanks
@@MFCampervans do they all have that spring? How is it working for you? Still great? Thanks!
This worked perfectly. Thank you so much!
You're welcome. I'm glad it helped!
