I want it to be Ableoth. She represents a villain worthy of this story. I also believe that if it is Ableoth it will require Luke to join our group of plucky heros. I know the new villain is supposed to be Thrawn but Thrawn is not as big a threat as Ableoth could be. I know it most likely won't be Ableoth but I still hope it will be.
It’s actually more likely to be Palpatine or tied to him because at some point these shows have to tie into the sequels.. makes sense because of the heavy emphasis of bringing the dead back to life, that’s likely why Thrawn gets the witches.

As of last night. I still dont see any direct mention of abeloth. Ahsoka saw the daughter in her bird form. And baylon was standing on a gisnt outstretched arm of the father, in the middle of a statues of the son to the left. And a destroyed statue of the daughter to the right. And the father pointed to a glowing beacon on the top of a distant mountain. Just as hos monastery on mortis. Ray Stevenson passed away. This was justba very clever way to goce him a send off by sending him on the path shown by the family of mortis. There was absolutely no mention at all of Abeloth. And star wars loves foreshadowing.
Idk why people think it’s Abeloth as there is hardly anything to go on and I pray that it isn’t her because I can guarantee that most of the people who think it’s her haven’t read the book series she is a part of and don’t know how powerful she truly is. If she is made canon, she would be nerfed so much it would be a betrayal to the veteran Star Wars community and the modern Disney writers can’t be trusted with her. in legends, abeloth was dozens of times more powerful than luke at his full potential, it took a combination of the sith and the new jedi order to contain her, legends luke theorized the mortis blade could possibly kill her.
@@Grimerpr2016 True, however we have the problem where there is no Jedi or Sith order at this point in the timeline, since the Ahsoka series and pretty much all of the Disney Star Wars TV is either during the Empire or just after its fall. There hasn't been enough time for the remnants of either of those factions to come together and rebuild anything proper, so I can only hope that this is them teasing Abeloth Thanos-style without actually bringing her in as a villain until much later down the line.

Not necessarily. She could be fought and delayed on Peridea long enough for everyone to escape, leaving her to make her own way to the main galaxy. That would take time, and she could end up arriving after the end of the sequel trilogy. It would be a bit like destroying the Alpha Relay in Mass Effect 2; she would be prevented from escaping through the Eye of Scion, but it would merely delay her.
Abeloth might be a popular suspect as the individual who is calling to Baylan but it is an impossle possibility since there is no hard evidence that The Mortis Gods have any prior connection to Peridea at all. Abeloth is not known for being subtle in her ways of chaos and madness and she would seek to affect everyone instead of one person which is the main reason why I am skeptical of this "fan fiction" of Abeloth of all beings manipulating Baylan on some far flung planet in another galaxy.
In the books didn't she start targeting individual Jedi or was it small groups of Jedi? I'm going to re-read the books but I can only think of Jedi Outcast right now, at the beginning with Valin Horn and his rampage.

With the allotted time left I'm hoping they reveal what's calling for Baylan, the direction of Shin, & making it back to main universe. I dont know. Why would Dave create the whole Mortis Arch and not finish it. It is in both clone wars and rebels like SWave says. All the stuff Baylon is saying just seem very aboloth like. All the talk about cycles and stuff. I personally hope they go this route because it gives us the chance to see Luke and Anakin in action again, without messing up the new Canon BS. This would be a really cool side adventure to explore.

I will agree that Ableoth may be to big for the small screen. What a great tease it would be to find out that it is Ableoth calling to Baylon, in an effort to get free. All as a foreshadowing for the next set of movies. Maybe we get Anakin and Luke's son teaming up to deal with her. There are so many paths i can see a character like Ableoth taking the Star Wars universe down. Remember in A New Hope we thought Vader was the ultimate villain until we found out that Vader had a boss. Can you imagine Ableoth instead of the Emperor. With Shin as her enforcer or even a character we have not met yet. We already know Thrawn is defeated. Cuz he is gone by the time of the sequels. So Ableoth could be the villain they are preparing to use in the next 3 movies after the Thrawn film. Okay I've already gone in 2 or 3 diffrent directions that would be fun to see ( for me at least ) bottom line Ableoth is a villain that will require more than just one jedi to take down it will require real story telling building back story a genuine quest for the group of heros to undertake. I can see this villain bringing back great Star Wars movies. It will introduce new characters ones who like Baylon we can be excited to learn about. Thrawn is boring in my eyes unless he just ends up being a pathway to a great adventure in the galaxy far, far away. Just my opinion. It really only has meaning for me. I really honestly though Abeloth (with Eva Green playing her) should have been the MAIN VILLAIN of the Sequel Trilogy in the first place! If Lucas Film was really staunch about ending the Canon Trilogies with nine episodes as originally intended, having Jedi Masters and Sith Lords having to join forces (not to mention Father and Son Skywalker as well) to stop Abeloth would be a fitting way to close the whole thing out! And if done right, would have saved the image of the Star Wars franchise! 😊

As much as I wish it was Abeloth (and yes, from a lore perspective it is possible) I just don’t really think Disney would do this. It’s just too good to be true. Also, should they not reveal who is calling for Baylan this season, it would be a great opportunity to look at what fans want, and possible move forward using that.
This entire show is too good to be true. A few years ago fans would have never believed Disney would make something like the Ahsoka show. Do not underestimate Dave Filoni.
I do not think it is Aboleth, because Feloni seems to be drawing mostly from Clone Wars and Rebels for this series. I think he wants to draw the wider audience in step by step to the expanded universe. I think Balan's reference to dreams and nightmares are to the gods of Mortis, with the son representing the nightmares. However, it would be cool if it was Aboleth.
Pretty glaring weakness if a mere dream can either drive a Force User otherwise unstoppable to insanity OR enslave them to someone's will. Funny seeing how mentally strong some them truly are. If there IS an Abeloth issue.. perhaps IF Anakin DOES got some sorta power to match her perhaps he's some kinda fail safe against anything super unbalancing like her or perhaps even Thrawn too. BUT can only DIRECTLY do some major action against them or something like her when it's really needed. Maybe Baylan is planning to bath in the pool of knowledge and then drink from the font of power, of course after he enters the world between worlds. He will do the opposite order in which the mother did with force nexuses. Abeloth is calling him. This maybe the planet is a gate to the Maw.
Could be some kinda of setup for the next saga in the star wars movies i mean maybe it would take alot longer to get back due to travel time between galaxies some kinda of time displacement which upon returning to the prime galaxy. Thus events of this purposed saga taking place after the end of the sequel trilogy. Or better yet baylin cause the sequel trilogy to never happen in the frist place 😅
I think Ahsoka and Baylan (possibly Shin) will stay on Peridea while Thrawn and the other heroes go back to main galaxy. This allows Thrawn to be the big bad of Mando verse still. I believe Ahsoka will sense some dark cosmic entity and know she has to stay to fight it. Ahsoka season 2 will be strictly about Force mythology meaning we get more Anakin, mortis gods and everything else.

I think the biggest hints are the folklore nature of the planet and how Beylan is looking to break the cycle, dark and light are part of that cycle, he's looking for something else. Abeloth needs her own saga. You nailed the approach.
The Star Wars Franchise's reputation would prolly be in a better place right now had they made Abeloth the overarching villain in the Sequel Trilogy instead of a recycled Original Trilogy story arc with Palpatine still as the main villain!

Has Abeloth ever been mentioned in Canon? It's all legends afaik. I think there's way too much that still has to happen in this last episode. We have to get the confrontation between sabine and Ezra, the final battle with Baylan/Shin, the outcome of Thrawn's plot, and all of a sudden Abeloth, a concept that has never been brought up in canon? I think it's more likely that the son is on the planet than Abeloth.
If it was the Son Mortis God there, the Night Sisters would NOT be trying to flee in the first place as they literally worship both him and his sister! In fact, they will happily stay and will trip over themselves to serve him in whatever way they can!
Ask yourself these questions and think of these theories: 1. Why is Peridea such a dead and lifeless world?, Such a bleak wasteland with few inhabitants?, It's almost as if "something" is feeding on the planet and the life there. 2. What causes the Purgil to die when they migrate there?, Why would they choose Peridea out of countless other planets? Is something drawing and feeding on them too? 3. What caused the destruction of the Great Witch Kingdom of the Dathomiri?, and why would the Dathomiri suddenly migrate to a new planet (Dathomir) in an entirely different galaxy? Were they perhaps trying to get away from "whatever it was" that perhaps destroyed their kingdom?, causing them to flee as far as they could at the time because they were just that scare? Mind you these are NIGHTSISTERS we're talking about, it must be something POWERFUL and DEADLY to make them so desperate to flee. (Baylan: Perhaps they flee a power greater than their own). 4. How did the Dathomir Kingdom fall?, Could something of unfathomable power have attack and destroyed the kingdom?....or....Could something have taken control of certain key member witches and "brought chaos" to the power-structure leading to conflict and destruction? 5. Why did the Great Mothers (and presumably others if their "cargo" are actually hibernation devises rather than coffins) remain on Peridea instead of fleeing with the others? Maybe they either wanted to stay behind to ensure that the bulk of the Dathomiri escaped, OR perhaps they had a hand in sealing whatever "power" that threatened them and stayed to make sure it couldn't escape, destroy them and then perhaps go after the others in the main galaxy. 6. Why were the Great Mothers in hibernation on Peridea? Could they perhaps have been waiting for someone else to come along and take them and the remaining Dathomiri to their new home?, OR.. perhaps they slept as a means of hiding themselves from whatever "greater power" they feared in case it escaped imprisonment. 7. Why were the Great Mothers so loyal and eager to help Thrawn?, After all, the Nightsisters are female dominant and see men as FAR beneath them, they would NEVER serve a man unless it served them first. Perhaps it DOES: When Thrawn showed up on Peridea, discovered and woke them up, the Great Mothers saw a chance to take the remaining Dathomiri and travel to Dathomir to reestablish the Great Witch Kingdom in the main galaxy. but ALSO..... the Great Mothers were desperate to escape Peridea because they knew the same evil power that they feared was still lurking and Thrawn was their ONLY chance to leave Peridea ... OR WORSE....They saw the future and KNEW that something or someONE (Baylan Skoll) drawn by it's influence would foolishly go looking for that power and unwittingly unleash it. (Baylan: Something CALLS to me, can't you hear it?) No mistake, this was their LAST chance to FINALLY get the hell away from Peridea and this evil power that has plagued and threatened them for so long and if it means putting their fates and the fate of the entire Dathomiri race in Thrawn's hand then so be it. Conclusions: The Great Mothers and their "cargo" may have successfully escaped Peridea to the main galaxy and a new beginning on Dathomir for the Nightsisters but the power they fear STILL exists and their greatest fears may still be realized. Thrawn may an immediate threat to the Galaxy but if this power Baylan is searching for turns out to be what I think it is, then a new/old (from the old EU) and FAR more powerful evil could be unleashed soon and threaten the entire UNIVERSE. Something related to the Mortis Gods (Given the statues of the Ones on Peridea pointing to the source), an evil being just as or MORE powerful than all of them combined. My guess is the night sisters get there powers from her, Some things baylon said and episode names where very Abeloth themed. In some scènes you will hear a creepy woman "roaring" in the background when he starts about power en the new beginning. We see Ashoka and Sabine the light side getting guided by Morai too the power of the ones and baylon and shin too the darkside find eachother in Abeloth's prison convincing her too free her. I really don’t think it’s abeloth, especially since she seems like a character that wouldn’t really fit into Disney live action Star Wars. Baylan wants to end the cycle of war and destruction that the Jedi and Sith cause and I think that he’s gonna try to do that by destroying the force or at least by severing their connection to the force. Maybe he‘ll try to do that by reaching the gods of mortis or by ascending to a status similar to theirs himself.

I thought anywhere Abeloth resided was jungle like. Peridea looks like a dead planet. My hopes are that it is something different calling to Baylan. Abeloth is and would be a very popular character, however, the backstory needed would be a couple seasons.
If played by the right actress (I would nominate Eva Green for this role) and if in the big screen, she'd be instantly iconic! And at least Eva Green (if this comes to pass and she accepts the role) will have a role people will instantly remember her for but is still up her alley as well! Not necessarily. She could be fought and delayed on Peridea long enough for everyone to escape, leaving her to make her own way to the main galaxy. That would take time, and she could end up arriving after the end of the sequel trilogy. It would be a bit like destroying the Alpha Relay in Mass Effect 2; she would be prevented from escaping through the Eye of Scion, but it would merely delay her.

Abeloth might be a popular suspect as the individual who is calling to Baylan but it is an impossle possibility since there is no hard evidence that The Mortis Gods have any prior connection to Peridea at all. Abeloth is not known for being subtle in her ways of chaos and madness and she would seek to affect everyone instead of one person which is the main reason why I am skeptical of this "fan fiction" of Abeloth of all beings manipulating Baylan on some far flung planet in another galaxy.
In the books didn't she start targeting individual Jedi or was it small groups of Jedi? I'm going to re-read the books but I can only think of Jedi Outcast right now, at the beginning with Valin Horn and his rampage.
There is not Abeloth (or the Mother) in the canon of the Mortis Gods! There's no Abeloth in the Ahsoka show. This is all head canon.

I dont know. Why would Dave create the whole Mortis Arch and not finish it. It is in both clone wars and rebels like SWave says. All the stuff Baylon is saying just seem very aboloth like. All the talk about cycles and stuff. I personally hope they go this route because it gives us the chance to see Luke and Anakin in action again, without messing up the new Canon BS. This would be a really cool side adventure to explore.

I will agree that Ableoth may be to big for the small screen. What a great tease it would be to find out that it is Ableoth calling to Baylon, in an effort to get free. All as a foreshadowing for the next set of movies. Maybe we get Anakin and Luke's son teaming up to deal with her. There are so many paths i can see a character like Ableoth taking the Star Wars universe down. Remember in A New Hope we thought Vader was the ultimate villain until we found out that Vader had a boss. Can you imagine Ableoth instead of the Emperor. With Shin as her enforcer or even a character we have not met yet. We already know Thrawn is defeated. Cuz he is gone by the time of the sequels. So Ableoth could be the villain they are preparing to use in the next 3 movies after the Thrawn film.
Okay I've already gone in 2 or 3 diffrent directions that would be fun to see ( for me at least ) bottom line Ableoth is a villain that will require more than just one jedi to take down it will require real story telling building back story a genuine quest for the group of heros to undertake. I can see this villain bringing back great Star Wars movies. It will introduce new characters ones who like Baylon we can be excited to learn about. Thrawn is boring in my eyes unless he just ends up being a pathway to a great adventure in the galaxy far, far away.
Just my opinion. It really only has meaning for me. Maybe everyone else has even better ideas. I'm just an old, old fan. Yet i wish that there was great Star Wars movies in the theaters that i could take grandchildren to see and have them feel the way I did so many years ago.

I really honestly though Abeloth (with Eva Green playing her) should have been the MAIN VILLAIN of the Sequel Trilogy in the first place! If Lucas Film was really staunch about ending the Canon Trilogies with nine episodes as originally intended, having Jedi Masters and Sith Lords having to join forces (not to mention Father and Son Skywalker as well) to stop Abeloth would be a fitting way to close the whole thing out! And if done right, would have saved the image of the Star Wars franchise! 😊

I do not think it is Aboleth, because Feloni seems to be drawing mostly from Clone Wars and Rebels for this series. I think he wants to draw the wider audience in step by step to the expanded universe. I think Balan's reference to dreams and nightmares are to the gods of Mortis, with the son representing the nightmares. However, it would be cool if it was Aboleth.

I think Ahsoka and Baylan (possibly Shin) will stay on Peridea while Thrawn and the other heroes go back to main galaxy. This allows Thrawn to be the big bad of Mando verse still. I believe Ahsoka will sense some dark cosmic entity and know she has to stay to fight it. Ahsoka season 2 will be strictly about Force mythology meaning we get more Anakin, mortis gods and everything else.

I think the biggest hints are the folklore nature of the planet and how Beylan is looking to break the cycle, dark and light are part of that cycle, he's looking for something else. Abeloth needs her own saga. You nailed the approach.

Has Abeloth ever been mentioned in Canon? It's all legends afaik. I think there's way too much that still has to happen in this last episode. We have to get the confrontation between sabine and Ezra, the final battle with Baylan/Shin, the outcome of Thrawn's plot, and all of a sudden Abeloth, a concept that has never been brought up in canon? I think it's more likely that the son is on the planet than Abeloth.

If it was the Son Mortis God there, the Night Sisters would NOT be trying to flee in the first place as they literally worship both him and his sister! In fact, they will happily stay and will trip over themselves to serve him in whatever way they can!

Ask yourself these questions and think of these theories:
1. Why is Peridea such a dead and lifeless world?, Such a bleak wasteland with few inhabitants?,
It's almost as if "something" is feeding on the planet and the life there.
2. What causes the Purgil to die when they migrate there?, Why would they choose Peridea out of countless other planets?
Is something drawing and feeding on them too?
3. What caused the destruction of the Great Witch Kingdom of the Dathomiri?, and why would the Dathomiri suddenly migrate to a new planet (Dathomir) in an entirely different galaxy?
Were they perhaps trying to get away from "whatever it was" that perhaps destroyed their kingdom?, causing them to flee as far as they could at the time because they were just that scare? Mind you these are NIGHTSISTERS we're talking about, it must be something POWERFUL and DEADLY to make them so desperate to flee. (Baylan: Perhaps they flee a power greater than their own).
4. How did the Dathomir Kingdom fall?,
Could something of unfathomable power have attack and destroyed the kingdom?....or....Could something have taken control of certain key member witches and "brought chaos" to the power-structure leading to conflict and destruction?
5. Why did the Great Mothers (and presumably others if their "cargo" are actually hibernation devises rather than coffins) remain on Peridea instead of fleeing with the others?
Maybe they either wanted to stay behind to ensure that the bulk of the Dathomiri escaped, OR perhaps they had a hand in sealing whatever "power" that threatened them and stayed to make sure it couldn't escape, destroy them and then perhaps go after the others in the main galaxy.
6. Why were the Great Mothers in hibernation on Peridea?
Could they perhaps have been waiting for someone else to come along and take them and the remaining Dathomiri to their new home?, OR.. perhaps they slept as a means of hiding themselves from whatever "greater power" they feared in case it escaped imprisonment.
7. Why were the Great Mothers so loyal and eager to help Thrawn?, After all, the Nightsisters are female dominant and see men as FAR beneath them, they would NEVER serve a man unless it served them first.
Perhaps it DOES: When Thrawn showed up on Peridea, discovered and woke them up, the Great Mothers saw a chance to take the remaining Dathomiri and travel to Dathomir to reestablish the Great Witch Kingdom in the main galaxy.
but ALSO.....
the Great Mothers were desperate to escape Peridea because they knew the same evil power that they feared was still lurking and Thrawn was their ONLY chance to leave Peridea ... OR WORSE....They saw the future and KNEW that something or someONE (Baylan Skoll) drawn by it's influence would foolishly go looking for that power and unwittingly unleash it. (Baylan: Something CALLS to me, can't you hear it?)
No mistake, this was their LAST chance to FINALLY get the hell away from Peridea and this evil power that has plagued and threatened them for so long and if it means putting their fates and the fate of the entire Dathomiri race in Thrawn's hand then so be it.
Conclusions:
The Great Mothers and their "cargo" may have successfully escaped Peridea to the main galaxy and a new beginning on Dathomir for the Nightsisters but the power they fear STILL exists and their greatest fears may still be realized.
Thrawn may an immediate threat to the Galaxy but if this power Baylan is searching for turns out to be what I think it is, then a new/old (from the old EU) and FAR more powerful evil could be unleashed soon and threaten the entire UNIVERSE.
Something related to the Mortis Gods (Given the statues of the Ones on Peridea pointing to the source), an evil being just as or MORE powerful than all of them combined. And those of us still loyal to the Original Expanded Universe know EXACTLY what or WHO that being is.........

In some scènes you will hear a creepy woman "roaring" in the background when he starts about power en the new beginning.
We see Ashoka and Sabine the light side getting guided by Morai too the power of the ones and baylon and shin too the darkside find eachother in Abeloth's prison convincing her too free her.

Baylan wants to end the cycle of war and destruction that the Jedi and Sith cause and I think that he’s gonna try to do that by destroying the force or at least by severing their connection to the force. Maybe he‘ll try to do that by reaching the gods of mortis or by ascending to a status similar to theirs himself.
