Yea man there is definitely hype around this game, another reason I'm excited for it because I hear so many good things. Theme has me pumped, and definitely right up your alley. Might be something you have to eventually check out. And I'll definitely be getting a playthrough up at some point.
My buddy Zach got this the first time round, and 100% have been calling it Void Seekers ever since, haha. Have a great time, it's super fun. Definitely one of the most cinematic experiences I've had. I definitely like the secret objectives more than the full co-op version though.
I honestly think I'm just going to keep calling it void seekers as well haha, definitely sounds cooler in my opinion, so I'm with your buddy on that lol. Just played a game last night and played with the secret objectives and I agree with you. The element of having someone who's intentions are unknown, I think is what really makes it thematic. Like the movies, you dont know if someone is out to sabotage everything for some sort of gain. But you also still have to work together is some capacity to make sure you do accomplish your goal. Awesome game so far!

Haha holy crap are you serious it's already been that long?! Wow dude yea I need to get some more coverage of this game. I've been playing it here and there so I can definitely get something out. I want to start getting more playthroughs on the channel. But if I want to start doing that, most of them might have to be solo playthroughs. I can get my wife to join in on some here and there, but not as often as I would like. What do you think, do you think a solo playthrough would be good if I can't get my wife to play? I know it's better with more players, but I'm just thinking as far as getting some content out there. Would love to hear some feedback on that.
@@BrewsandBoardgames .. my wife only plays easy games like Azul, sagrada, Ticket to Ride, isle of cats. So I normally have to play solo unless my adult daughter comes over to play the heavy games. So a solo play through for me is ALWAYS good. I prefer true solo or two handed. Any more that that it’s too much. I love meet me at the table or one stop co-op solo play throughs. I also like two player play throughs like ant lab games. It helps to show player interaction. I do 50% solo, 40% two player, 10% 3 player. I also paint my miniatures.
@@JohnnyMcNabb63 Yea true solo and 2 handed is what I usually do as well. The one stop co-op shop guys do a really good job, I was actually just watching one of theirs earlier. But that's some good feedback. The wife and I just wrapped up a playthrough of Ankh and I have a Xia playthrough scheduled. Right after that playthrough I'll do Nemesis next, solo. Me too, everything looks amazing. I looked around just now and cheapest I saw was $150 on miniature market. So a little pricey, but that would include free shipping. I'm not 100%, but Awaken Realms should be reopening the pledge manager again after wave 1 is done, so you might be able to late pledge at that time.

I would love to see this game get a full Aliens franchise license. Because whoa! Also a Level 7 Omega Protocol campaign could be a followup to a Nemesis campaign.
I'm kinda digging the slightly different design other than straight aliens. I love those movies and IP in general, and I also love where A/R took the direction. They did a great job. I also had to look up Level 7 Omega Protocol as it didn't ring a bell and whoa that game looks cool. Seriously the first time hearing about it so thanks for putting me onto to it. I might have to check it out!

One player is the “overlord” and controls the enemy creatures while the other players control the squad sent in to clear out the infestation. (So it’s like the Intruder mode in Nemesis). The game has a campaign that runs over ten or so missions and has an expansion that adds in new characters and creatures. Now that I reviewed what Nemesis Lockdown contains, it looks like the game is a follow up to nemesis where the ship lands on Mars and the creatures end up infesting the base. I think there’s a place for both games (Nemesis and Omega Protocol) on the shelf they have different play styles. I’m trying out the solo game this weekend so I can get a feel for it. But I’m definitely excited to bring this to game night when we start having it again.

I got the same package on Friday. Played 2p on Saturday and it was pretty fun. The rulebook felt rough and I had to reference back and forth through it constantly during the game. I grabbed a 2 page player aid off bgg, I would highly recommend it to reduce flipping around the book

I recently picked up this game from my flgs, and pre-ordered the aftermath exp, medic, and play mat from games steward. Pretty excited to get this to the table. Your solo playthrough sealed the deal for me. My only concern now is. Should I get lockdown once it comes out haha
I think you are going to love this game, it's so thematic, it truly makes you question whether you should enter a room or not because it might be something terrible or spawn an alien. It goes up on my list everytime I play it, great pickup. And yea haha Lockdown. I backed it during the campaign, but I'm not sure how much different it's going to be from Nemesis. Maybe like more of the same, but I just got so excited when the campaign launched I just added everything lol.

I did see they reopened the PM, and I would recommend the core game if you're on the fence. I just played another game last night with my buddies and had a blast! If lockdown looks at all interesting, I think you would like the core as well. The only thing being, I dont know how similar Nemesis and Lockdown are going to feel. They might feel too similar just with minor tweaks to lockdown. So that might be one reason to hold off. But you're right, the price of the core game in the PM being a lot cheaper than retail stores is a huge appeal. But for me, even having the core game, I'm still looking forward to lockdown.

For some reason the camera isn't showing the scans properly. They all should have four lines and one of them will say INFECTED or they all will not show INFECTED

Yea it's definitely unique and feels a lot different than core and void seeders. The skulls and turned out rib cages just look insane. I haven't tried out the actual gameplay yet, but I have been enjoying the core game so far, it's awesome.

@@yagsipcc287 Hey bro nothing wrong with solo gaming, some Amazing solo games out there. And shelf space is important, it's crazy to think, but those boxes start to add up fast, especially when you keep acquiring games. Plus when you start adding expansions that probably wont get played lol, it's something to start considering.

For some reason the camera isn't showing the scans properly. They all should have four lines and one of them will say INFECTED or they all will not show INFECTED
Hey yea I did notice that, very hard to see on camera. Although it is easier to see in person. I thought it was going to be a symbol or something like that lol, didn't realize it was supposed to say infected!

Carnomorphs feels like a Dead Space skin for the base game.
Yea it's definitely unique and feels a lot different than core and void seeders. The skulls and turned out rib cages just look insane. I haven't tried out the actual gameplay yet, but I have been enjoying the core game so far, it's awesome.
