- This is part 1 of our play through of a Co-Op mission of Nemesis by Awaken Realms. In this playthough we will be featuring the Carnamorph expansion and 2 expansion characters. Personally i think exposing the exploration token first then the room tile makes more sense. Great video btw!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. That makes perfect sense especially since the token is on top of the room. I’ll start playing like that to add more immersion. I love the expansion stuff. I have them but have only played the base game as usually, no one else has even played it before. This makes me want to play the expansions for sure. Thank you.
Up until now I have been in the same boat. I have been introducing it to people using the base game material. I have only recently been able to play with the expansion material. The expansions bring a new way the game can be played. It’s really fun. Thanks for the great comment Doug. 😃😃👍

Glad to see someone doing a Carnomorph playthrough, now I’m regretting not getting this expansion in the first KS. Definitely adding this to the Nemesis Lockdown KS. Love this game, and your playthroughs/explanations are excellent. Looking forward to see how this plays out. Keep up the good work.

I am waiting impatiently for the start of the KS campaign, because in addition to Lockdown, I have to order everything from the second wave of the previous KS (unfortunately I missed the campaign then and I want to have Aftermath and Carnomorphs in my collection)

Hey, great playthrough. I know I am late to the party, but I want to point out a minor rule mistake nearly everyone makes and that is because in my opinion it is the worst rule of Nemesis. U actually don't make noises. You roll if u can hear noises. That is why the noise markers can be in every corridor. With an x you cannot hear anything, with a slime marker you habe pheromones on you which attracs aliens to you. And that is the reason why you can put a noise marker on your choosing when moving carfully. You then can better localize where the noises are comming from.
But as I said it is a bad rule, but I find it much more easier to teach this rule to beginners this way.

This is entirely not true. Both you and intruders making noise is taken into consideration. For example carefull movement, destroying eggs, escape pods. To be honest, the developers haven't been very consistent about this.
That makes sense. Noise is noise. Now that you mention it Awaken Realms really hasn’t mentioned where the noise is coming from thanks for the great comment 😃😃👍
@@pietjehans206 the first sentence on Page 15 of the rulebook under noise roll says: "Noises echo throughout the Nemesis decks.. sometimes from the ships machinery, but sometimes from the intruders."
Otherwise it wouldn't make any sence why you do not roll for noise when an intruder is in the room, or while another charakter is in there.
@@pietjehans206 when u move carefully, u move in silence. how r u making noises with careful movement? it only makes sense that u move too silently and u can hear better and can determine where the noises are coming from.
when u destroy the eggs, it also makes sounds and those sounds are heard by intruders. therefore, they tryna get to u through vents or corridors which u can hear them. Hence, the noise roll
This game is like writting a TV show episode scenario.

I am not very sure how Android interacts with mutation card. The android will discard any contamination so the effect will not work. Also, if mutation replace larvae (the rule for antidote and surgery room suggest mutation card is equal to larvae in this case), this also means android shall not receive the card.
You are totally right about the Android I’ll h e to make a note in the video. Using different intruders then the base game makes things a little different. I should have been scanning the contamination card when I drew them. I would guess technically the android was probably not the best choice to demonstrate the mutations. It was a ton of fun to get to this to the table again. Thanks for the help and thanks for watching

Where did you get the card protectors... I see you have all sizes. Wonder where its a good idea.
I picked them up at Mayday games. I can't remember the exact size. If you check out Board Game Geek there is a post there that shows the card sleeve size and such. Its a great resource. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching

That’s a great observation they do mention in the rules for the void seeders that the expansion characters are I hit more powerful but for how hard this game is that’s not a bad thing. 😃😃👍
i have a question to that video too :D
first turn u entered to room and move cost 1 action. second u played search action cost zero on card. action section doesnt have search. so it should not count as an main action but u said she doesnt have any other action. was that a gameplay mistake? or was that how it has to be solved? thanks
Great question. The action cost on the player boards is the card cost like you stated. the cost on the cards you play is the amount of extra cards you have to use to preform the action on the card. Since search has a 0 cost you only have to pay the search card to be able to play it. The search card is still considered an action. Hope that helps, and thanks for the great question.

Great question. Yes they have rules in the lockdown rule book that helps explain how to use all the different intruder expansions. There are a few rules issues but overall pretty good :) (You should have 1 objective per character as an objective to win the game, both conditions must be met in order to win)

It is one per character I just find it more enjoyable that the 2 characters are working together to complete the one mission, and the game is challenging enough that one mission is tough enough. 😂. What is the size of the card sleeves you bought for the tiny search item cards? Also great video. These inspired me to start buying the expansions!
Thank you glad you enjoyed the videos hope you are able to try the expansions soon. The size of the card sleeves are “mini euro” 45mm x 68 mm. I get mine from mayday and they are the blue ones. Also they come packs of 100 and 50. I buy the 50s for those is shuffle and 100 for the ones I don’t shuffle hope that helps thanks for the great question and thanks for watching. 😃😃👍

Thanks. The card sleeves are all from Mayday if I remember right. But the lockdown Kickstarter had card sleeves you could pledge with which is what I did for the expansion. Thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍

Hi there,great playthrough. Does your characters have a heavy weapon? If they do the metagorgers would have spawned beside each character!!
That’s a great question. They didn’t start with a heavy weapon the CEO doesn’t. Have a weapon and the Android character has an energy weapon. During the playthrough I’m not sure if I picked up a heavy weapon if so I may have missed that they would spawn next to me. Thanks for the great comment and thanks Simon for watching 😃😃👍
Page 6 states they appear where there are Heavy OBJECTS (corpses and carcass), not Heavy ITEMS. They don't appear if characters carry weapons. They eat organic material - not guns. 😄

hi, just one question: why did you choose a single objective cards? In the fully coop mode (of the base game) you have to keep 1 card for each player, so it would mean 2 cards during your game. Does this rule change with carnomorphs, doesn't it? Thanks.
Great question. You are absolutely correct I got the cooperative and regular games confused at that point. The rules are the same for the carnomorphs expansion that was my mistake. The other card really could not be completed since the carnomorphs don’t have weakness. I have found that some of the expansion intruders are not that compatible with the base games cooperative mode. I hope this is changed in the new Kickstarter. The Voidseeders are coming soon to my channel stay tuned. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching! 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable In Carnomorphs, instead of researching a weaknes, what you do with that objective is remove an adaptation. You should interpret the objectives at the light of the different intruders.

I get confused with the sneak attack. Metagorgers do a sneak attack then leave the board, at what point are they just spawned and stay in the room?
Metagores are the lowest level on the carnamorph chain they will try to feed and grow. They don't stick around long in a room. The other forms of carnamorphs will want to take us out. This expansion really shines with more players as those metagores feed and the bag grows. hope this helps and thanks for watching

Wish i could get those two characters. Just grabbed the carnomorph and void seeksr factions at retail, but they dont come with the characters.
Oh I didn’t realize that they void seeders don’t come with the characters that must have only need for the Kickstarter. That’s a bummer. You could reach out to Awaken Realms and see if they have a way to get the characters. At least the 2 faction are fun to play against both are so different. I believe the Android cannot get contamination cards. im not sure how she works for the carnimorph expansion. perhaps she is immune to mutation?

I totally misunderstood the rules for years. I thought you can take only 2 Actions per turn per player. Realizing you can take as many Actions as many cards you keep in your hand, leaves me baffled... O_o
Yes this is the most misunderstood rule in the game cus it’s not a common rule in any other game. Most games are you do your actions and then you’re done and the next player goes. I think they did this because in higher player counts those turns could have gotten long. Also it give other players the ability to react to what others did later in the round without have to be at the mercy of the event phase before you can react. @@MeetMeAtTheTable It must have been confusing because i'm not a native english speaker, and i have the english version of the game. I translated you get only 2 actions, but may hold it, until someone else goes, and perform after him if you choose. We even made a house rule everybody gets 3 actions per turn to not be absolutely annihilated by intruders, and still couldn't get it right most of times :D
For the co-op play throughs I thought you had to complete one “solo/coop objective per character”

Nope your 100% correct I don’t like to do it that way since they are hard enough as it is lol!!! I may have not mentioned that in the setup that I was only doing one objective. Sorry for the confusion. You didn’t read anything wrong. Rules are each person has to complete their objective. Also, why did the intruder attack the same turn he spawned? Per the round tracker doesn’t the intruder attack happen before the bag development?

Great question. The attack step is only for intrudes in combat already on the board. Any other intrudes placed on the board due to drawing them out of the bag are going to cause an “Encounter” where you compare the surprise value with the amount of cards in had to see if they get a surprise attack when they spawn. Why did it eat the character corpse the same turn it spawned?

I have played using 2 action on each player then always end the round and draw the event card...
No wonder I had no time to check for items or craft 🙈🙈

havent pplayed this expansion but im just finished playing my second game whixh also was solo, im still not impressed ny this game so far,,yes its growing on me slowly but its TOO slowly, in my experience this game cannot compete w TWOM bg , mansions of madness, shadows over Camelot, betrayal at house on the hill
and probably even battlestar Galactica, i seriously dont understand the hype about this game, like outside america and poland this game is zero, nothing compared, yes it is ok but that is all, average, mediocre, forgettable being so high as it is on BGG, its absolutely bs, i really halfway regret i bought the base game for 120 $ and the 2 expansions together (not this one tho ) for same amount so together 220 $
approximately, not even close to deserving that, all the other games i mentioned costed way less and i got like atleasr TWICE the enjoyment of all of them!! this game is too long, too fiddly, not intuitive, hard to remember every small rule for different situations,etc, nothing was prepainted, some of the components very low quality,
This is a case of not every game is for everybody. I myself have played some games that I don’t understand how that are so liked by the community. It sucks you invested so much for the game but hopefully you can find some joy it in the future or at least have the ability to sell it off or hand it off to some that will enjoy it. This is still one of my top 5 games and play it multiple times in a year. The tension this game provides is what I like. Thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
