Manual fillets in Rhino 7

  • While Rhino is very good at free-form surfacing, it's also quite weak when it comes to apply fillets to solid models. The purpose of this tutorial is to show some tricks for achieving strictly equal radius fillets on all 4 input corners that meet together at the same point.
    Since Rhino lacks proper tools to fill holes between existing fillets (as seen at the very end of the video) with a proper fillet surface, I used a clever technique to overcome that weakness:
    1. Creating a line normal to one of the edges, having the same length as the radius already used on the existing fillets, i.e. 5 mm;
    2. Adding a sphere with a radius of 5 mm that properly matches the adjacent fillet edges;
    3. Splitting the sphere with the 3 adjacent surface edges.
