So they wrote so many tunes for their toxicity album that didn't make the cut to that album that they released this album for like half the price of a normal album at the time. Can remember buying a copy in virgin megastores 😂 Superb purchase. Loved the aesthetic as well. Looked like a random burnt cd.
Great reaction. Not many reactors get past their big hits and dig into their wider catalogue. So many gems. This album is one of the few albums that i can just hit play on and never skip a song.
You have to check out his solo stuff like Empty Walls, Unthinking majority, and Butterfly. We need more Serj reactions, he is the voice of a generation
Very underappreciated song from an equally underappreciated album. "Ego brain" is even better, but the album is littered with gems; "Mr Jack" and "A.D.D." are also fantastic, and "Highway Song" is one of my all-times.
Fun fact: when released, you could literally "steal this album". When Metallica was throwing a tantrum over music downloads, SOAD believed their music should be made available to everyone. So they put the album out to be downloaded for free.
My mom got mad at my best friend at this time cuz she thought he was being cheap and burned it for me rather than gift it. I had to explain the album art to her lol
@@rody8376it was even better than that. They thought: "you stole from us? Fine, get your cheap versions, we are going to make it properly. And make new songs as a plus 😋"
I’m pretty sure it’s shortly after the fact, and at the time it was new and scary, while even the intention might even be to safeguard smaller bands income, idk if “exposure” was a thought back than.. but idk imo it’s hard to judge ppl that get thrown into something new and scary
The name of this album "Steal this Album" was a nod to "Steal This Book" which was written about the counter-culture of the 60s by Abbie Hoffman. His book gives lots of instructions about how to fight against the government and corporations in anyway possible. Powerful stuff.
This album, while not their best, is definitely slept on, there are some serious bangers on here which shouldn’t be surprising since they’re all left over from the toxicity recordings 🤘
Steal This Album was my introduction to SOAD so this reaction is special for me. Not many people react to their lesser known songs. Holy Mountains is another favorite that I would recommend.
I'm glad seeing someone react to this. It's not a very well-known song anymore. I remember hearing this all the time on the tv. We had several cable channels and this used to play a lot on the rock channel.
Hometown Armenians from Glendale, CA, where a huge number of the Armenian diaspora landed after a stop or two in other parts or the world. As an LA band with a passionate fanbase of rockers and fellow Armenian-Americans, they were able to cut through the noise first in LA and then beyond. Their on going support for recognition of the Armenian genocide makes them heroes in their community.
Always nice to see some reactions from Steal this Album. Such a great album to so often get forgotten because their other albums are also so damn good.
I don't know to much about this band out of Glendale, California. I knew some guys from that area and they were like yeah ok. Just really played back. So listening to these guys doesn't surprise me with their lyrics and vocals. That's what I thought they would bring to the table. Visceral madness has spoken.
Tash Sultano is one of the two famous rock singers who has a five octave range plus he’s an Incredible guitar player. The other five octave voice was that of the late Freddie Mercury. Tash ua-cam.com/video/Gl83mI69nX4/v-deo.htmlsi=7589qU31s6Rvwuv-
Arials is an Acid Trip in musical form! Toxicity is a tour de force! These cats don't half ass anything ! their managment screwed up and didn't rep them right.
I’m sure someone else provided this information, and I just didn’t see it in the comments, but Steal This Album is made up of all songs they recorded for the Toxicity album that didn’t make the cut but a lot of them got leaked. A buddy showed me their leaked album before Toxicity’s release and Innervision was one of my favorites and I was shocked it didn’t make the album.
Polo , how are you? Love your channel. Please react to " SMOKIN' VERSION - The Allman Brothers Band - In memory of Elizabeth Reed . It will definatly blow your mind
I remember buying this album and it was a great "b-side" to Toxicity. But I loved the name and aesthetic of the burned CD, as the unfinished album was leaked early online, which I definitely downloaded and burned a copy of lol. This was obviously a disappointment to the band as they were finishing the album, so they played into that.

Mr Jack, is a favourite off this album.
I came to also request Mr Jack. It doesn't get enough love.
Put your hands up get out of the car!!!!!
Pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olives, chives!
I remember the day this album came out. It was a good day.
Did you go out and steal it? Asking for a friend 😂🤘
I love every SOAD album, they are all bangers. But Steal This Album hits different. It just feels more moody and dark to me. It’s my favorite.
God the drums on this album are so fucking good, that kick is great
Yessss. I've been waiting for you to get to this album. Its full of 10/10s.
Great reaction. Not many reactors get past their big hits and dig into their wider catalogue. So many gems. This album is one of the few albums that i can just hit play on and never skip a song.
This is a great song! One of their best imo.
I love you Polo 💗 Best reactor on UA-cam imo.
Deep cut! This album had such an impact on my young mind. I'm so psyched that you're about to dive in
You have to check out his solo stuff like Empty Walls, Unthinking majority, and Butterfly. We need more Serj reactions, he is the voice of a generation
When you paused it with 1 second left 😂 this is such a good song love steal this album. I love the end when serj gradually gets louder.
I think it’s about time he hears Bounce 🤔
Oooooo yeah. Good mood now 😁 kitty kitty time to dance ❤✌️ Polo...

No it was leaked as toxicity 2 so they renamed it steal this album

1st self titled album, my favorite. 2nd album is probably their most famous. 3rd Steal this album, is my second favorite. Check out 'Know'.

My 2nd favorite band❤❤❤love SOAD🥰

Yeah ADD is one of their best songs.

The ablum title, if you didn’t know, is based on a book by abbie Hoffman all about counterculture called “Steal this Book.”
Always nice to see some reactions from Steal this Album. Such a great album to so often get forgotten because their other albums are also so damn good.
Great music.
Thank you.

Love this track. BYOB is my favorite.
Another great SOAD song. Great reaction. Here are a few other awesome songs to check out: ATWA, X, and U-Fig.
Check them out!

really baffling that you haven't really dove into System. I could have swore you got into them when you were deep into Tool.
i saw system of the down twice. they were in front of the headline band both times....and they sucked both times!!!! Shocker.
Hmmm..System of a(turn it ) Down..One the few im not a fan of..
This isnt one of their best. Weird someone recommended this over so many bangers.
