"the way you watch movies sucks" man do i feel the same with those youtubers with "perfect movie" or "worst movie of all time" in their every single video titles. i always try to avoid these type of youtubers with "why Joker movie is perfect" in their title as an example
There are plenty of movies I would consider, for all practical purposes, to be perfect, but there can be any number of films fitting that description. Any random person thinking they've actually seen the worst movie ever when there's several million films that have been made worldwide, and only one of which could be the worst, however, is pretty ridiculous.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks Perfect is actually a bit more subjective than Worst in those scenarios. Mostly because a movie can be the most ideal version of what it's trying to be, e.g. I think an argument can be made that Godzilla King of the Monsters is nearly the best possible version of what it wanted to be.
Not to mention the kids' performances came first, and so must have been referenced for the adults. Usually, when you have "Young" and "Adult" characters, the adult takes priority. And Adult Ben's actor must have gotten a career upgrade from that CW Beauty and the Beast show he was in.
Here's an actual sin of this movie that should be pointed out, and best highlighted by the old woman and Bev scene. Pennywise has the ability to change his form to look like anything he wants. But the director never seems to take advantage of that. You literally have the ability to keep the audience guessing at all times, and leave everyone afraid due to uncertainty. "Is this character Pennywise?" "Is this real or an illusion?" "Is that other character really Pennywise?". The director could have saved the reveals of Pennywise until opportune moments in order to take the audience by surprise as well. But instead they reveal right away which character Pennywise is pretending to be, and they do it minutes before the actual scares come. This seriously weakens the impact the scares have on you. Let's assume the old woman scene was never used in the trailer, and so no one had ever seen it before. You become immersed in the scene and drawn in. You're not sure if Pennywise is the old woman, or if she's just a normal person. They distract the audience by having Bev talk a little about her father, and some of her trauma. This convinces you that there will be no scares and that the purpose of the scene is to flush out her character. But then it's revealed that the old woman is really Pennywise, and that second is when the scare happens. That's ten times more effective than teasing you that the old woman is Pennywise and then making you wait a few minutes to get to the scare. Not only do you have plenty of time to prepare yourself for what's to come, but you're almost bored by the build up because it's not the interesting part.

Agreed, and altho the scene still scared the fuck out of me, i would also have preffered they played with that side of his ability more and left the old woman scene at least a bit more ambigious if they showed it in the trailer at all
Mike isn't just "something ... something ... still in town." If the movie is faithful to the source material, he's a librarian ... a historian. He's been actively working -- not just to remember -- but to learn more about Pennywise.
About Jeremy's rant on the "thematical gravity vs aLiEnS" thing. Can't a movie have the *text* talk about an Eldritch Abomination *and* the *subtext* about said abomination being only slightly worse than the worst of human nature and abusive people, places and relationships? Jeremy knows less about movies than Jon Snow (yes, the actual character). Keep up the great work!
Jeremy Sins the movie for IT being an "alien", completely overlooks that one of the main points of the story is that real human evils like abuse and homophobia are just as, if not even MORE scary than the fantasy monster. Side note: doesn't even consider the fact that IT can be both a representation of human evil *and* an alien. The creature (whose origin is a little bit more complicated than the average Hollywood alien, I hesitate to use that word) feeds on faith and imagination, with fear as little more than a condiment that IT happens to like. The fact that IT feeds so well in this small town in the middle of fuck no where that IT has never left says a lot more about humans as a species than a raving pillaging extraterrestrial fleet taking the world one city at a time.
Yeah, I prefer to think of IT as more of an eldritch entity than an alien. The former generally implies the latter, but with more appropriate connotations IMO.
Idk why I was annoyed when he started mouthing off about how he was disappointed that his head cannon wasn't true when it's been explained that it is an "alien"
Dj the turtle and also the main theme of the book is unresolved childhood trauma like his head cannon is worthless as there’s over 1,000 pages to prove him wrong
Right? Who gives a damn if the prediction of a man who couldn't be bothered to research a 30 year old book that was already adapted into a movie once before was proven wrong? That pissed me off too. Not as much as Jeremy literally hiding part of his video behind a paywall, but a close second.

All the casting of the kids is pretty good, but I feel the ones where the actors are less known (Eddie and Stanley) are definitely the best castings - they look exactly like grown up versions of the kids.
I agree with both you and Jeremy for removing a sin for Bill Hader. While all of the adult actors are great in the movie, Hader does the best job in my opinion for being able to be actually funny in a horror movie without ruining the horror.
Technically (in the book anyway) everyone who moved outside of Derry really did become rich and rock stars in their fields. It was explained as kind of a cosmic trade off for dealing with pennywise if I remember correctly
I walked into this video expecting a pretty funny counter video to cinema sins but got an intelligent critique almost rant of how oblivious cinema sins is. And quite entertaining and true because I've had my moments of going "no, wait sins, that was explained"
For those that don't know the Easter egg was the Turtle. It appears in almost every Stephen King work. It is a deity of sorts called Maturin and is Pennywise's foil
My issue with IT chapter 2, is that for some reason, the movie was HILARIOUS to me, i legitimately questioned if they were going for a comedy because i was enjoying myself like it was a comedy...certainly not the feeling i had from part 1, i was some legit scared from part 1....for example, when naked grandma demon is lurking around in the background, the weird shimmying aroind was, just hilarious to me.
Watching this video just makes me wish there was a UA-cam channel that is what cinemasins should be. Pointing out actual problems, not editing mistakes or simple mistakes, ACTUAL PROBLEMS with the movie.
4:26 Jeremy: "Honking is common place in New York City and happens for stupid reasons..." Movie: *has someone honk at somebody in New York City for a (subjectively) stupid reason* Jeremy: "WHY DID HE HONK AT HIM?"
I love how he thinks they’re all Eddie’s tormentors and they couldn’t possibly just be both of their tormentors since their children in a small town and these people are bullies. Lol
I’m now convinced Th3Birdman is an omnipresent being that requires no sleep and lives solely through hot cheetos and juice boxes. I will continue to believe this until proven otherwise
10:30 What's interesting is that Jeremy comes up with a really interesting interpretation for this movie that still works, but he seems to think symbolism, and metaphors need to be surface level. Within the logic of the universe, It is a cosmic being that crashed to Earth. That doesn't mean the movie can't still represent cycles of abuse that we tend to ignore as a society.
For Pennywise nothing Spices the “Meat” like fear. As this man is clearly Terrified for his life, the meat 🍖 is well and truly spiced. His terror is basically a dinner 🍽 bell 🔔 to “Pennywise”.
4:56 I thought it was explained somewhere that people who leave Darie often do become successful because the only people who leave Darie are the strong minded/willed or something? Not sure where I heard this but made sense to me.
This video healed something in me. I used to love watching CS, but lately, their videos feel so lazy and purposefully incorrect. Every time I watch one now, I've been having these same exact thoughts, but thinking I was being defensive or sensitive about movies I like. THANK YOU for putting all these thoughts into a video and calling them out!!
I’m so glad I found your channel!!! THIS is the cinema sins we need! I used to watch them for movies I had never seen- but then I made the mistake of watching one I had& noticed he was purposely messing stuff up by ignoring the previous 30 secs& I had to quit watching.
It isn’t explained in the movies, but in the books, the reason that the kids went on to become so successful as adults is because they left Derry (Bev became a fashion designer, Stan became a businessman, Eddie owns a chauffeur business for celebrities, Richie is a famous comedian, Bill is a famous author, and Ben became an architect)- explaining why Mike isn’t, seeing as he stayed in Derry while everyone else left.
I do agree with Jeremy's thing about the fast crawly thing, it didn't phase me after seeing it so much in the first one. But i also agree with you, because that is in no way ITs only movements/tactics
5:10 Also Jeremy misses the premice of the story. Children who were different and therefore called "losers" are actually the ones who became creative and succesful. The whole underlying message if the movie is the "losers" are anything but losers. It's pretty obvious.
13:47, Jeremy sins someone making fun of Bill's stutter thinking it was weird, but as someone who stutters during anxiety attacks people do that shit all the time thinking they are helping you. While I don't have continuing stutter like Bill did I can tell some my relatively small experience people do it way to much
I recently noticed that I was giving to a Patreon that was a millionaire who put out very little bonus content. When I finally thought wait a minute... thanks for pointing that out.
Does anyone else think that Cinema Sins is just really boring now. I know they were bad for a long time but atleast they weren't this incredibly boring.
Coming from someone with asthma, if this creature feeds off fear, then an asthmatic is a five course buffet, let alone and asthmatic that has just struggle to fight their way to the surface of water, triggering the attack, sees the monster that nearly killed them as kids, spiking heart rare, furthering the attack, and then getting the adrenaline from trying to flee, sending the immune system into a wall, peaking the attack. At that point, fear is the only thing in your mind, making the asthma even worse, that man would have been a Michelin star meal.
Favorite Sins: 1) ...yes 2) Pennywise eats people- Adults, kids, doesn’t matter. He prefers kids because they’re easier to scare. But he’s just woken up after 27 years so he isn’t particularly picky. This is exactly why he ate Georgie without scaring him- he’s hungry 3) Calling a video game arcade a “video game console” The one sin removal: I’m going to remove a sin here for you recognizing greatness when you see it The clip art to quiz definitely got me. That was clever
So a few things 1. "The movie didn't earn that little girl's death" I don't know what sort of mind Jeremy has, but people de facto don't want children to die horrible deaths. Even if that girl wasn't much of a character, audiences are still going to be on the edge because they know children can die in these movies and are wondering if she will or if she'll luck out and escape like the Losers Club did. 2. "The clown is literally an alien and not just the manifestation of humanity's darkness that congregates in small towns where people turn a blind eye to problems rather than addressing them." Why not both? It is quite literally an alien, but it could still represent exactly what he's talking about. Hell, the scene where the gay couple get beat up and one of them dies is based off of a real world hate crime that Stephen King read about and how the area that it took place in just swept it under the run, so it's actually very likely that the monster represents what he's talking about. For a guy who's job is ultimately analyzing stories, he doesn't seem to understand that something can have multiple meanings.

I agree with both you and Jeremy for removing a sin for Bill Hader. While all of the adult actors are great in the movie, Hader does the best job in my opinion for being able to be actually funny in a horror movie without ruining the horror.

You can also remember something in great detail of an event that never happened, your memory can will and has lied to you
I've never seen The Visit, so consider me got with that jumpscare 😂
Bird man seems angry in this video... he is clearly fed up 😂😂😂😂😂
He's becoming future birdman ;_;
He’s fed up n angry/annoyed in most videos I’ve seen. And rightfully so.
Bruh... we're all fed up. That's why we watch these videos over the original channel 😂😂
Reality isn't real, we are a dream of a turtle flying through space.
That whole "YIPPIEKAHYAY(however you spelled that) MOTHERFU- *BWOM"* was clearly the best part of the movie
“The way you watch movies sucks” 🙌🏽🙌🏽
It’s 3am and that scene from the other movie scared the fuck outta me
RIIIIGHT
I can't even enjoy Cinemasins anymore. It's like when someone points out something annoying about someone & you can't un see/hear it 😂
Th3Birdman: I’m just poking at their mistakes
Also Th3Birdman: * *proceeds to impale him* *
17:31 whoa Birdman transforms into future Birdman
My issue with IT chapter 2, is that for some reason, the movie was HILARIOUS to me, i legitimately questioned if they were going for a comedy because i was enjoying myself like it was a comedy...certainly not the feeling i had from part 1, i was some legit scared from part 1....for example, when naked grandma demon is lurking around in the background, the weird shimmying aroind was, just hilarious to me.
DukeApples ssshhh I haven’t seen it yet!! I like watching these first then watching the film
Birdman spitting straight fire about UA-cam "critics". SAY IT LOUDER.
Watching this video just makes me wish there was a UA-cam channel that is what cinemasins should be. Pointing out actual problems, not editing mistakes or simple mistakes, ACTUAL PROBLEMS with the movie.
Last time I was this early Eddie was still alive.
How could you hurt me this way
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂so funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
....... *Sigh* 🔫
*CinemaSins has become laughable, and not in a good way...*
18:47 The Birdman, everyone. Giving us fights that we never asked for, but never realized we needed.
4:26 Jeremy: "Honking is common place in New York City and happens for stupid reasons..."
Movie: *has someone honk at somebody in New York City for a (subjectively) stupid reason*
Jeremy: "WHY DID HE HONK AT HIM?"
You got the hot cheetos part lol
“No, the way you watch movie sucks”
God damn
18:24 *Birdman holding Bill Hader* I just think he’s neat
10:30
What's interesting is that Jeremy comes up with a really interesting interpretation for this movie that still works, but he seems to think symbolism, and metaphors need to be surface level. Within the logic of the universe, It is a cosmic being that crashed to Earth. That doesn't mean the movie can't still represent cycles of abuse that we tend to ignore as a society.
“The way you watch movies sucks”.. that’s wisdom right there. Kudos
Damn at 8:35 you had enough, complete destruction 😂. Keep it up Birdman
THANK YOU for bringing up the lake scene and Bill Hader's performance. I can't believe Jeremy didn't take off a sin there. Shameful.
Wow didn’t expect to be watching a new video at this hour😂
We lucky bro 😂
i feel like cinemasins hand picks the corniest phrases possible to recite when making these videos
Derry*
Dinner scene. I can't believe Birdman missed it.
@@inshan3st3r I knew I heard it somewhere, thanks.
@@Reject101Personal Yea I Probably shoulda looked that one up first
After your analysis of the "sins", I NOW want to see "It: Chapter 2"
Don't listen to the critics! It Chapter 2 is an amazing movie!
@@alijahaskew4644 It was ALRIGHT, but it felt like a Pixar movie. The first movie is better.
@@ScoopOfButter I agree that the first one was better, but how did it feel like a Pixar film?
@@ScoopOfButter comparing Pixar Animation Studios to Horror genre
*ding*
To be fair
Bill Hader was the best part of it chapter 2
And Finn Wolfhard was the best part of Chapter 1.
A breath of fresh air of a channel! Subscribed!
I’m so glad I found your channel!!! THIS is the cinema sins we need! I used to watch them for movies I had never seen- but then I made the mistake of watching one I had& noticed he was purposely messing stuff up by ignoring the previous 30 secs& I had to quit watching.
Thank you for the nightmare-ish thumbnail, birdman. Just great..
"Welcome to my World" BEST PART OF THE VIDEO.
"It doesn't matter what you always liked to think" "the way you watch movies sucks." Please, for the love of god, explain this to Star Wars fans.
As a Star Wars fan who's tired of Star Wars fans, I second this motion.
I agree, these characters belong to George Lucas, he has the right to use them precisely as he pleases.
Add the fact that they pick on things that were problems in movies they do like as well. C-3PO is the same character as Jar Jar, bite me.
Loz M I would personally say C-3P0 was executed better
No. It was bad before. It'll stay bad. Let's all swallow the bitter pill: it was made to make MONEY!
What buffles me is that many times Jeremy uses the "this movie is bad" excuse to just sin it at will, even if the movie did not had that many mistakes
I think all your videos are good, but this one was a real banger my dude!🤣👍
Damn these counter sins are on point. Hats off Birdman another great video.
I do agree with Jeremy's thing about the fast crawly thing, it didn't phase me after seeing it so much in the first one. But i also agree with you, because that is in no way ITs only movements/tactics
Jeremys Mitch McConnel turtle joke gave me a right hoot I must admit
TJS44 I agree. I enjoyed it a lot 😂
Yeah man, if I was Birdman, I would have removed five sins. That shit had me fucking dying.
5:10 Also Jeremy misses the premice of the story. Children who were different and therefore called "losers" are actually the ones who became creative and succesful. The whole underlying message if the movie is the "losers" are anything but losers. It's pretty obvious.
Just gonna put this out there... I like the original version where when mike calls bill... all he says "It's back"
13:47, Jeremy sins someone making fun of Bill's stutter thinking it was weird, but as someone who stutters during anxiety attacks people do that shit all the time thinking they are helping you. While I don't have continuing stutter like Bill did I can tell some my relatively small experience people do it way to much
5:57 ty :) I commented this exact thing on the cinema sins video and was hoping you would say the same thing
i really wish people like jeremy would do research on the movie, especially when it's a sequel.
@ 1:00
I got you present Birdman.
Jeremy makes a po- "Ding"
*"You padding the sin count bro? I think you're padding the sin count..."* 13:27
I fucking died
This was hilarious! I came across your channel recently and I love it!
“The end? Don’t bet on it” don’t think you can get that Devil May cry 3 music past us bro 😭😭🙏🏾
Great game. Great music.
MasterJayShay forever solidified as such💯
I recently noticed that I was giving to a Patreon that was a millionaire who put out very little bonus content. When I finally thought wait a minute... thanks for pointing that out.
Does anyone else think that Cinema Sins is just really boring now.
I know they were bad for a long time but atleast they weren't this incredibly boring.
I love this I can't believe I only just found your channel and video. I had so many problems with the cinemasins video too thank you for this
Coming from someone with asthma, if this creature feeds off fear, then an asthmatic is a five course buffet, let alone and asthmatic that has just struggle to fight their way to the surface of water, triggering the attack, sees the monster that nearly killed them as kids, spiking heart rare, furthering the attack, and then getting the adrenaline from trying to flee, sending the immune system into a wall, peaking the attack.
This is exactly why he ate Georgie without scaring him- he’s hungry 3) Calling a video game arcade a “video game console”
The one sin removal: I’m going to remove a sin here for you recognizing greatness when you see it
The clip art to quiz definitely got me. That was clever
When Birdman says,"You padding the sin count bro," I always think he's saying You padding the sink out bro. Lol😂
You are my new favourite UA-camr from this one video. This is the first video I've seen of yours and I've never subbed that fast.
It's 1 in the morning and I'm watching this when I have school in the morning
Pizza Bros Me too. I work at a school, but still...
benkenobisgirl same. I’m a teacher
17:30 in the subtitles, you can see as Th3Birdman slowly becomes future Birdman.
Aaaaaaaand we're off to a good start.
Hot damn this is one of your better videos purely for that callout at the start. xD
So a few things
1. "The movie didn't earn that little girl's death"
I don't know what sort of mind Jeremy has, but people de facto don't want children to die horrible deaths. Even if that girl wasn't much of a character, audiences are still going to be on the edge because they know children can die in these movies and are wondering if she will or if she'll luck out and escape like the Losers Club did.
2. "The clown is literally an alien and not just the manifestation of humanity's darkness that congregates in small towns where people turn a blind eye to problems rather than addressing them."
Why not both? It is quite literally an alien, but it could still represent exactly what he's talking about. Hell, the scene where the gay couple get beat up and one of them dies is based off of a real world hate crime that Stephen King read about and how the area that it took place in just swept it under the run, so it's actually very likely that the monster represents what he's talking about.
For a guy who's job is ultimately analyzing stories, he doesn't seem to understand that something can have multiple meanings.
I love how progressively angrier you get in these videos
Edit: Oh for fucks sake you got me with that jumpscare
That damn jumpscare 😂 and it’s still dark here. I gotta say though, it was well played
Around 12:40 scared the shit out of me
same i died fr
