almost 21 years ago and that line-up still hasn't been topped
1993 Milton Keynes
Philip still has a great voice!!!
Yep took all that screaming haha
No, terrible
Philips voice isn't so high register voice, it's more like hard and furious
Phil really is great! I was listening to Cemetery Gates the other day and he hits notes that remind me of Rob Halford. You rarely hear anyone that can do that.
Drop A tuning
I wish he would do a spoken word / Q&A tour or something, I could listen to this guy for frigging hours.
Andrew Shirley ya got Scott Ian
He should at least do a podcast, or livestream. Could be about anything, he just has a great speaking voice. His accent doesn't say "texas" to me, he kind of sounds like he's from the Northeast.
I spoke to Phil at a Pantera show that same year. Asked how Donnington was he said
"Dude I cant remember I was fucking wasted"
Lucky you to witness Pantera in 1994.
I was there in 94, and yes he was.
Pantera and Sepultura annihilated the main stage that day.
R.I.P Dime And Vinnie.
I remember the day it was announced Vinnie passed!
I was doin a double a Pizza hut and was on the break between the 2 shifts. Sitting outside the cafe. I had like 6 bucks I had from getting tips from people coming in to pick up orders.
My photographer friend Sonya posted something about being really sad about his passing! She had met and knew him.
I stood up! Walked 6 stores down into liquor store and got 5 shots of 99schnapps! Told the side about being bummed about a massive music passing away and how I wanted Jack but couldn't afford it!
He gave me a single shot (bomber).for Jack to have cause I'd said how PANTERA was JD band!
Whoooooowie!!! Was a DARK DARK time in my life! Made it through to worse! But I'm still here!
I'm up in the air about this reunion!!!
Until Zach said it best! "Its a tribute!"
That made me shed my "NO!!!!"
Cause Vincent and Dime WERE like the front men.
You dont do Nirvaner, Sublime or any other band where the MAIN UNIT is gone.
Zach's "tribute" title and view on it helped me understand. It's not a reunion
As a 12 year old kid at my first ever rock concert, seeing Pantera at Monsters of Rock 1994 was a HUGE deal. I saw so many awesome bands that day; Zakk Wylde with Pride & Glory, Therapy?, Pantera, Sepultura, Biohazard, The Wildhearts, Terrorvision, Skin, the legendary Aerosmith (at what was my favourite point of their career). One of the absolute best days of my life was June 4th 1994.
I was there they were on the main stage absolutely brilliant
The man is incredibly humble about playing what was at the time the biggest show there was
Or wasted, see comment below =)
@@TheMack what comment

a fuckin racist ! i was a big fan of pantera but now fuck off Anselmo !!
@@mehdimerzouk4487 Looks like you cucks, SJWs, 4th wave feminists and soyboys have found metal music finally.I see a bunch of these comments on many videos. Glad these bands showed their authentic testosterone fueled masculine raw power and energy in the 80s 90s and 00s, before this BS woke culture took over.
I was there and I would guess that 80% of the people there were wearing Sepultura or Pantera tshirts. Pantera should've headlined because no one gave a shit about Extreme or Aerosmith.
I should to be there but in 1994 I was born :D
+cupboardy We left the area after pantera played. Fuck watching extreme an aerosmith
Medication addministration records sheets
:-*
Wow ignorance. Extreme would be worth watching.
You guys aint dead to me \m/
Luv Phil's humility. " Kinda a big deal" :D
I was barely 3 years old in 1994...I wish I could've been there ='(
UFCMania155 it was on my 5th birthday. My older brother showed me some videos but it was only later I seen it was on 6 4 1994. damn, wish I was 20 years older at the time!
I was born in 1995. I missed all sorts of really good stuff.
I was born after dime passed away :(
i didn’t exist before any of pantera
I love this man!!!
How long have you known this man? He's my childhood hero
@Phil anselmo Hahahahaha
Don't dont fuck with Phil's name on Social media... he will fight you and you will LOSE
1994 i bought my first Pantera Album and it was for me the point which changed a lot of things in my life. Pantera was and is real music with authentic musicians. Substantional for me at all. I cant live without listen Pantera once a day/week.
I was there aged 11 . what a day and night. Got my Pantera tour t shirt that day! good times
I was there aged 12! I got a Sepultura "Chaos Donington 1994" shirt that day - still have it. One of my all time favourite days
Such a amazing man!! I love his freakin voice!!
I was there also. I was already into Pantera but that day I became a fan of Sepultura.
I feel very much respect for Phil... Pantera was those 4 DIMEBAG, VINNIE, REX AND PHIL. PERIOD.
First festival I ever went to.. Biohazard, Sepultura and Pantera fucking smashed it! What a day out!!
I was there! Awesome
I was 9 in 1994. If I was reborn again I would ask to be in my 20s in the 90s era. Seein some of the greatest bands in their prime live on stage.
Anselmo i love your band since 1991
I was there, mega gig... Sepultura on the same stage... and Therapy? opened
I was sure it was pride n glory opened?
Still can feel the bottles bouncing off my head in the crowd haha
@@mark_fox_music yup, ur totally right, it was Pride N Glory - I had forgot about them till watching a video recently….
I went to this years Download and Zak was back to open the 2022 show
I was there...what a lineup, what a day!
1:10 Phil becomes Randy Savage.
lol
Hahaha
he's been becoming Randy for years :')
I was there.....
THE KING. Enough said
I was there! I remember Phil wanted this girl to throw him her flag that she had been waving and she motioned with her hand to "come and get it". Phil was like "yeah I'm reallly gonna fucking come all the way over there!" Classic show, Sepultura were on too, they were unbelievable. Then we had to suffer Extreme with their "more than words" garbage. They got a serious bottling :-)
+Blueyestu Aye an they threw the beer laced with lsd intae the crowd \m/
2k Like! Long live these immortals known as Pantera
Heavy metal always hit the spot for me, peace, and at war
PanterA had changed our lives.
AGUANTE PHILIPS ANSELMO
Pantera and metallica man, nothing can touch them.
come back dime!
I was there.
Zakk opened with Pride and Glory and there was a big thing in the news over here where loads of people were protesting to stop White Zombie playing because they'd been labelled satanic 😅
Every band that day nailed it, Sepultura were excellent.
15 years old and my friends and I were so hyped for Pantera. They came on and blew the place apart. Seized the moment and gave us something we will never forget.
When I catch up with my friends who were there for a beer, now in our 40s with wives and kids, the conversation always ends up about Donington 94.
Philip H Anselmo is da greatest frontman ever ! PanterA is da greatest heavy metal band ever !
RIP Dimebag & Vinnie Paul Abbott .
🔥🤘🏼🎙🤘🏼🔥
Stay safe and healthy Phil.
I WHENT TPO SEE PANTERA IN SANDIEGO WHIT SEPULTURA ND PRONG 1994 I WAS 15 YEARS OLD I ROAR FROND CROWD I SAID PHIL DOMINATION AND HE PLAY THE MADAFUCKING SONG... THANKS HOMMIE
Top
Phil you know... On my opinion, no matter what people talking about you, but you're one of greatest frontman of all times!!)
I was there!
Always remember that same guy nowadays runs a Pantera cover band with Zakk Wylde on guitar...
If you would've told him back then, can't even imagine what he would've done to you...
Anselmo is a genius. A new level of stoicism.
Does anyone else who was there remember a couple getting married on the main stage just before or after Pride and Glory, I often wondered if they were still together although someone said they weren't
I was born the day before that gig XD
It also means you died somewhere on the same day
you should’ve went
@@cohenbrown3420 Hell yeah. I love Pantera, Biohazard, and Sepultura
To he'll with Phil...R.I.P DIME&VINNY
Por que ya no hacen mas musica?
They broke up in 2003. And Dimebag died in 2004

St. Phillip Anselmo
I was there on stage with bio hazard.
Phil should do some Doom Metal or join as a singer in Bloodbath. That would be fucking amazing
Anybody see Phil and the Illegals do that Pantera set the other night?
1:04
"Bury me in smooooooke"
Phil should do some Edgar Allen Poe spoken word
Why is it that every video I see of him recently, he has that cut on his forehead?
he smashes his head with the microphone during live shows. :)
Radu287 actually he made that cut in a show call Maquinaria in Chile while Down was playing, and yes he smashed his head with the microphone xD. Check it out on youtube dude ;)

2:21 ''Now it's all russian back...''
Oh shit........" guys down the hill "
Extreme knocked it out of the park at Donington, as did Pantera. A bit unfair to pass Extreme off as being there cos they were "cute", they were there cos they were a great band.
No. They are gay AF. Period. 🤘 Pantera Fn rules 🤘
Ha!
Memory Warrior I absolutely agree!
I kinda like you
Does Phil moonlight as a pro wrestler? I've seen several videos with several healing forehead wounds.
Nah he’s just likes to smash mics into his head 😊
I still sweat him
Basically Biohazard is a band with no substance.....well said sir!!
Fact is, Biohazard's singer became a male prostitute. Complete sell out and joke of a band
@@jumhed994 Haha, no - Evan became a porn actor, not a prostitute. I think he also set up a porn production company to with his then wife, Tera Patrick. Either way, I saw Biohazard I think 4 times, and the first three (while Evan was still in the band) were superb. The last one, in 2012 I think, wasn't great.
whats that scar on his head?
Got hit with a microphone on stage.
Don't be so humble Phil...
Phil what happened to you?
acohol?? drogs...46 years??
Well depression, heroin, tons of booze, and yeah old age.
Phil stays with a head wound lol
Ai
pfffft. The best Monsters of Rock was 1988. Maiden, Helloween, Megadeth, Guns N Roses.
In a lot of ways this channel is a link to fans and potential future fans of this band. Come on Phil and Rex get off your asses and treat us like you actually give a fuck. Half a decade and not one new fucking upload. You guys must have thought it was a good idea to have a channel to keep the bond and create new ones, what the fuck happened? complacency, "I forgot, they'll always be there," throw us a fucking bone ya'll. We're waiting!!!
Bunch of pissing and moaning lmao he says
2021 sucks
why he has ketchup on his forehead?
Love Pantera, but nobody Phil has ever jammed with can touch Nuno Betterncourt. That includes Dimebag. Love Dimebag, but he can't touch Nuno.
Nuno is good but he is a tool.
Love both bands. Couldn't pick one or the other. Just like different flavours, both great, both unique.
...and Angel Avila is a fool. Nuno ist no tool, One of the best guitar players and song writers.
Nobody's as good as Dime on guitar
Such bullshit. Donington was always a Metal festival. Pantera didn't change anything in that respect. Lol.
I'm good with the fact they didn't let change anything about Donington.
I like still only two Pantera albums, cowboys from hell and far beyond driven, but i haven't ever so get into album, vulgar display of power and rest of, because Phil's performace is worst in that album like vulgar, but album is good sounding but that not help that album enough for me, vulgar is Phil's worst performace ever
Give 'The Great Southern Trendkill' a chance. I t really is an underrated album, with some great vocals and awesome guitars/drums and Bass
