      Hello Josh. I figure you would know if anyone so I have a question. If a Tesla or other electric car can have working A/C, why can't an RV run a 48 volt system so A/C and a TV can be run on battery power? Combine this system with solar? Is this technology coming? Separate 110v and 12v systems is decades old.

    Inflation is at 2008 levels, so I don’t expect prices to do anything but go up until the dollar gets some value back. Way too much money has been printed recently and those effects will be catastrophic across all sectors.

      @@slaytanic921 I think you’re 100% right. The deals will come from Blue states that are/were more locked down so people had less options to travel. I have several friends in CA that bought RVs for the first time. Not so much, the big 5th wheels as none of them had 3/4 or full ton trucks, but lots of the better quality trailers, like Lance, InTech. Most of them have ‘been there, done that’ and are ready to get back on the resort/cruise scene. Two couples said that if I show them my 2018 Bill of Sale, they would add 25 % no questions asked to entice me to sell to them. So, I have to disagree, as there are people out there, with MONEY, that can't find what they want features, and length...and are willing to pay a penalty to get what they want...and has been my experience. I have a Rockwood unit on order and would actually prefer that the manufacturers allow me the choice on whether to wait for a 2022 or not based on the expected changes. I appreciate that they are striving to give customers what they expected, but if I had the chance to, for example, wait a couple weeks to get carpetless slides, I'd probably take that deal.

My wife and I wouldn’t have made the trip from Potato Creek campground in Indiana to Haylett RV last week if it weren’t for the time and effort you put into your videos, not only to show us the newest inventory, but to explain the difference in the build quality, warranty’s and features of the different models. We will make the trip back to Haylett to buy our fifth wheel, yes, we could buy it from a dealer in Indianapolis, but they haven’t put the time and effort into videos to educate buyers on what to look for, this alone warrants us buying from Haylett, but I truly believe we will get the best pricing deal from Haylett. This is why used RV prices are way up. I mean, WAY up from a year ago. I figure by early next year the market will be flooded and used prices will dip big time. This fall will be a good time to buy used. Many first time RVers will find its not their cup of tea and because of that will NOT want to store them.

    Josh you hit the nail on the head for our exact situation. We ordered a Eagle HT 264bhok in January. Last week Jayco called and stated that they had discontinued the 264bhok and we either had to choose another model or get our deposit back. We chose the 284bhok and were told that would be manufactured in early July. That was fine. They called back the next day and said the schedule had changed and it will now be manufactured in late August. They did say that it would be a 2022 model and explained the differences to me (I don't want to be the one who breaks the news, I will wait for Jayco to announce the improvements for 2022). They did not know about pricing but they understand we ordered a less expensive model 6 months ago and now they can't deliver. We have now canceled 5 weeks of camping reservations. We are not very happy at this point in time.
    So once again you are spot on with your update and we hope that things will be getting better soon. Thanks for your words of encouragement. We could use some right now.

Thank you! I wish you were closer because you have the camper we purchased since you just did a review of the 2021 Alpha Wolf 26DBH-L. Doubt pricing will go down much on vehicles, RVs, boats, etc.. If you remember back around 2008 pricing on things like vending machine cokes jumped. Never went back down. Maybe with discounts or dealer cash get back to something approaching “normal”, but don’t count on it. Many car dealerships have been doing VERY well selling cars at or above msrp.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 роки тому

      I regularly have agents of other dealerships look me up on things like Facebook which I welcome. I don't mind networking
      Several have asked me things like "Are you selling at MSRP or above?"
      It was phrased as though MSRP were the assumed standard
      We're still offering discounts below MSRP... which is probably why our inventory is straight decimated
      If a dealer is sitting with a bunch in stock, then it's *probably* because they won't let it go unless you REALLY make it worth their while

    All of the same issues down here in Australia with production. Big shortages on imported items such as fridges, windows & other construction materials etc. Sales wise locally produced Jayco have a full order book till mid 2023! - not worth their time even turning up to RV shows when you have nothing to sell. Basically no supplier can fulfill an order (caravan) placed today for delivery in 21, with most out to mid 22. Its truly madness down here right now with the Australian border closed with many now opting to holiday at home.

    Another great video. You really have upped your game.
    On the supply side, I’ve got a few comments for you. Plastics supply is still tight. It seems like the July to September time frame is right for supply corrections. Glass Fiber is really tough. The suppliers keep saying September but I feel it be closer to year end. The other interesting one is shipping containers. The ports are backed up with slowed loading and unloading. This has created a shortage of containers. The cost on containers has doubled. And the US is still short about 50,000 truck drivers. So truck shipping costs are up as well.

    • @acdii
      @acdii 3 роки тому +1

      True, that coupled with the tightest restrictions on drivers, no one wants to drive anymore. I used to drive, still hold a current CDL, but they can't pay me enough to drive, especially not with Big Brother watching every minute.

Twice the size of RVs and now the RV industry is getting woke up since demand is so high. Industry should of been looking at was to cut the production time frame along time ago. Don't need a ton of automatic stuff on them. Make it simple and fast with quality control.
