    Finished doing this as the weather was warm. Took me about 5 hours; first auto work for me in years, don't have lots of fancy tools. To get the tight plug out ( driver side, toward firewall - passenger compartment) I used a metric to 3/8 adapter then a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter and had just enough space to plug the ratchet on. Probably had more trouble getting the 14 mm bolts holding the battery frame onto the side rail off and then back on.... with just an open end wrench. A ratcheting wrench would take about an hour off the time.
    Removed the air cleaner completely but left the hose across the top of the engine on.
    Couldn't see paying $700 to have the plugs replaced, thanks again.

      So agree with you. Glad this could help out. There is other outback videos on the channel that may help in other areas.

    Good job, nice step-by-step. I will try this...if I can find a heated garage as I've waited for winter.

    It would have been nice to actually SEE removal/installation of #4. Should have checked PCV valve while you're in there.

      Just hard with the camera. Never thought about checking pcv. Thanks for the suggestion.

    You can jack the engine up a bit from the oil pan for more clearance

    • @seeenuf
      @seeenuf  10 місяців тому +2

      Never had to do that. Would be hesitant to jack on the oil pan.

    Hi! What size socket do you use for the spark plugs?
    Thank you!

      @seeenuf  2 місяці тому +2

      Pretty sure it was 16mm.

    Did you use Subaru OEM spark plugs, or do you have any recommendation?

      They are the same as oem but they are the iridium plugs.
