Yeh I am not wanting to flock the dash, it's too big a job and if anything I would prefer alcantara or leather but I am fine with the grey. Just the off touch of flocking adds a more upper class feel. Can't wait to get the door cards done in alcantara to match the gaitors and leather with gold stitching to tie the inside together more.
Hopefully flocking the twin cup holder & handbrake surround for you this weekend bud! Good effort on the other parts though - adhesive always dries too fast unfortunately!
you got me with the mirror interior trims, originaly they feel cheap af, Id love to know how and where did you get those ac knobs, Im also desperate to find the color code for the stereo surround dashboard, that anthracite metallic grey just doesnt exist anywhere. edit: for the roof and the pilars you can get spray paint for vinyl leather and fabric, there is a dupli-color spray paint for that job.
Yeh love the two Morris trim pieces, nice touch to the inside. I dont mind the grey dash touch. Wouldnt mind it all done in alcantara or leather though ha. My door cards will be the same alcantara with gold stitching as my gaitors to tie in and then leather with gold stitching along the top of the door card. Then the inside should be nearly done and looking good
@@DriveWithAndy oh yeah, i forgot the all black and gold theme you got there :) I dont mind the grey dash either, but the factory paint is just too sensitive, I have some worn out areas near hazzard button and under the stereo, thats why I want to find the original paint.
ohhh i see, i honestly didnt know those areas where painted, just thought it would be a plastic mould in that colour. If i had it any other way Gloss Black would be cool but then you do get bad reflections in the window which can be annoying. Might do my Door Pull Surrounds gloss black whrn i get the door cards re trimmed. Also when i can afford it haha
@@DriveWithAndy oh yeah they are painted, very poorly I must say so watch out if you want to keep it original, gloss black is not an option, buttons and stereo can not be painted and would look off.
@@neurontechno very true about the buttons, they will stand out. Thats why i like my new head unit as its the same grey plastic, not some horrid after market surround that looks a diffeent finish and colour and not a great fit
its quite hard to sand down and start again. I guess you can do but the glue basically becomes rock hard like dry superglue so it would need sanding down like crazy. I asked the flock shop i bought the stuf from and they advised its always best to start from scratch with flocking haha
@@DriveWithAndy no worries, your English is good mate lol How comes you never went with the electrostatic machines for this? I’m thinking of getting the machine itself
@@DJLloydy think it was just cost and heard the pringles tube is just as good but I think after a few attempts at it now and not 100% happy with some small areas not adhering I would say getting the machine would guarantee a slightly better finish
My order doesn't state but I feel it was 1mm as it's extremely fine the finish I got. 2mm will give you more of that effect where the shade changes when you brush it
@@DriveWithAndy thanks for the info. Am getting bad results atm. The glue dries too quickly for me and without a flocking applicator... The results are uneven
@@mohsinrasul8450 yeh it's not the easiest thing to do but you definitely need the applicator. I wasn't happy with one of my parts and got a whole new piece to do it again. Otherwise means sanding it back
Yeh it has that soft feeling. If done right. Once I had something done by modsnflocks and was a bit hard and rough. Flocking can be great if done correctly but in the end I went down a different route
@@DriveWithAndy and how has it been holding up? Here in Florida suede gets sun faded VERY fast, so I’ve been looking for a an alternate. My old car I suede wrapped everything for it to be faded in less than a year.

Glad i found this video been trying to seude fabric cover my a pillers on my caddy and iys a bloody nightmare with the shape this looks so much easier
This looks like something that flips in one's head from "niiice" to regret in days.
true yeh i know what you mean, i do love it but then something you thing should i have just resprayed in say gloss black. But i love it as a DIY job
Also clean with alcohol and a static flocker will give better texture as it will make fibers stick up
You know what, never liked the whole dashboard flocked, but them slight touches really changed my mind. Might have to be the 🐑 on this one.

I guess I am kind of off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream new series online ?
@Tyler Ben Flixportal :P
@Andrew Gary thank you, I signed up and it seems to work =) Appreciate it !
@Tyler Ben no problem :)
Nice video...again 😄
Thanks man 😊
Once the lockdown is over I want to pay you to do this on mine !

Can't wait to finally get the heated switched installed 😁 and another video made 😋
You need to sand so the flock will stick or eventually it’ll start peeling
Andy I dmed you on Instagram on what else you should do next to reaaaly tidy that interior up. The flocking looks mint I can’t lie haha
Just seen, looks awesome, good job on it too
How durable has the flocking been? Think it would hold up using it on interior grab handles?
I personally would not apply it to anything you will be touching regularly. It's more for looks than durability
