I felt I had hit a brick wall until today, I love this song just didn't know where to start, thank you for not making feel like I can't play. I now know I can differently improve with your help.
+Cosy Heating Great to hear it, there is no doubt you can play, if you check out my website you will find loads of stuff to help you along, thanks again for watching. Keep in touch and more importantly keep going well done
Good job .I had heard this tune and because of 50 years of playing I picked up by ear . The second half I had not gotten it. Thanks to You I have all the pieces . I started to play on upper half of the guitar also. Kool man .
Good afternoon ! I just discovered your channel last week and I m so glad because you’re doing great! Thanks a lot you are making such quality lessons! Have a good day! Cheers
I know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
Hello Joe, I've watched your channel and I truly enjoy how you teach, and how to play wonderful songs. You make it easy to understand and follow and fun to learn. Thank you. Sir, I've looked at most of your videos in your library but I did not see Collin Hay's song, Overkill, in your library. Do you have this particular song in your library? if not, would you be so kind as to record a tutorial of this song? I'd really appreciate it. thanks again. Mario.
great lesson. many thanks joe. dire straits please returns !! what's the model of your guitar the sound is superb I want to buy the same. thanks of France. gilles.
got it Joenice onequestion on the Martin 00028 what is the width at the nut -please I have one on my bucket list after your vids :-))also which strings have you put on it it sounds fantastic
+Keith Skelton Hey Keith, not sure about nut width, should be easy to find out though, maybe check Martin website, should be there. As for strings I always use d'addario extra lights 10-47, sometimes the coated EXP other times just the standard EJ15
Hey Joe Thanks again I checked the website & the EC 00028 neck width at the nut 1.75 inches which is as wide as my Ibanez & suits my hands/fingers I also checked the price and the Martin review on how they are made It was soooooo impressive and they sound amazing an EC triple O 28 is on my bucket list ps. In the last 4 days I've made good progress as a result of absorbing the method/study from your vid's Thanks again :-))
JoesGuitar lessons Lol, I want to. When I was 13 I started playing guitar for a few days I actually learned to play a song from nirvana's unplugged book in one day not an easy song for someone that played for a couple days then never stayed with playing guitar. But I think I'd like to learn this song.
Where are you when the sun goes down, you're so far away from me AND i''m tired of making out on the telephone you're so far away from me, are 2 lines in a different verse. Plus where's the twangy bits that i'v just learnt lol.
I agree with you. I'm a mediocre guitar player at best and still, after years of plugging away, am only now getting the fingers to go where they should to play R&J. MK's so damn musically talented and a guitar playing virtuoso. Never ceases to amaze me: Lady Writer, Devil's Baby, Telegraph Road, and on and on...
What happened there gov? You mixed up the 1st verse lyrics with 2nd verse lyrics. Right at the beginning those aren't the proper lyrics, it starts out with "here I am again in this mean old town", NOT "Where are you when the sun goes down", just my 2 penny's there mate!! On this particular song, the words dictate the chords, not vice verse. It may be simple, but crucial. Cheers!! 👍💯
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons Gotcha, didn't mean to be a Rick spelled with a silent "P"!! Just being an o.c.d guitar player. Thanks for the timely reply mate.!
I can't understand why people have given this a thumbs down.
Excellent clear lesson of a classic song.
Well done mate!
Hey Norman thanks for taking the time to comment much appreciated all the best

@@martingrey4904 also, I think it's down to the apparent anonymity the internet seems to give.

See what you think
JoesGuitar lessons Lol, I want to. Yeh for me it was quite different, once I started I knew I would carry on.
Perfect teacher. Thank you
You have a stupid name and not perfect teacher, this is slightly wrong.
That’s news to me, perhaps you can show us where we are all going wrong ?
Where are you when the sun goes down, you're so far away from me AND i''m tired of making out on the telephone you're so far away from me, are 2 lines in a different verse. Plus where's the twangy bits that i'v just learnt lol.
I’m not teaching lyrics, I’ll leave that to you. I’ve done two versions of the song, that cover everything you need to know, or most of it.
i start it on A chord then slide down to the 9th fret
Hi, Joe. Can you please do a lesson on "Romeo & Juliet" by Dire Straits. Thanks, Russ.
Perhaps at some point in the future, difficult for people to learn so may have limited appeal
Difficult song to play mate.

👍💯
Yeh I was just showing how the verses and choruses are played on guitar, not teaching the whole song arrangement lyrics and all.
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons Gotcha, didn't mean to be a Rick spelled with a silent "P"!! Just being an o.c.d guitar player. Thanks for the timely reply mate.!

Oh l hate when you guys put thumb over E string
Muito bom pena que nao falo inglês 👍👍👍
Yeah but he used electric guitar not acoustic that's how he was able to get that sound electric guitar
Rating: EASY
your mixing the lyrics up between one verse and the next verse and lyrics are fairly important lol
Guitar lessons Mark, not singing lol
