Thank you for this video. I am doing the "Duets" feature in TikTok and currently using the IRIG 1, my issue with IRIG 1 is while recording, i can't hear my bass guitar while recording, but after recording, i can hear my recorded bass guitar. Is Irig Pre 2 headphone works while recording ? Thank you so much
I just picked up one in the B&H deal zone for $30 and I'm pretty impressed - not a perfect solution of course, but fills a nice niche with very good quality audio
I’m hoping I can get good clear vocals once I buy this and a mic, I’ve been using my AirPods as a microphone/monitor.I also only recently realized I’ve been clipping big time on all my vocals and I’m about 15 songs deep in the last year.
I use this device daily for streaming with my Samsung smartphone. I have a problem with fast-discharging AA batteries. Can I power this device with a 3.7V Lithium Ion battery instead of the original 3V battery?
Hmmmm…. Not sure sorry. I would reach out to IK in this. Or Maybe ask over at the Create Record Release Facebook group at createrecordreleaae.com, or the Discord group here - studiolivetoday.com/discord.
Been using IK Multimedia products for some time. Always thrilled with the results. When I switched to the new iPad the USB-c to USB has given me some “fits”. The lightning cable always worked flawlessly. Using genuine Apple adapter, but my iRig keys I/O 25 audio drops during first minute. Once I turn off and start again everything works well. One great thing about IK is the customer service so already have a ticket and we are working on the issue. Hopefully all new products will include the USB c cable!
@@PeteJohnsMusic Quick update. After emailing back and forth with IK multimedia, I’ve learned they are working on a fix for this issue. Apples USB C move is presenting an issue with the iRig Keys I/O. Apple you 🤬!!! Luckily I have the iRig HD 2 which works fine using USB. The pandemic has caused a slowdown in their efforts to create a new cable that works with all new iPads. 🤷♂️
Hey Pete how is the latency on that thing? I always heard that straight analog doesnt have latency like a analog to digital does. I'm a singer and I wanna use about a medium amount of pitch correction and high amount of reverb
Yeah I’ve found it’s virtually zero on latency. There’s an a log to digital converter happening to send the processed audio back so it is still present but I found I got perfect timing.
I have my mic set up similar using the iRig to record video on my phone. But then I start recording video on my phone on the first 10 seconds of me speaking the audio is distorted do you know what could be the cause?
Im using irig pre 2 with ipad to record vocal. But there are buzzing noise in the recording. I ahve reduce to gain 4 but the buzzing noise is still visible. Do you know how to get rid or reduce it?
What mic are you using, and is there significant background noise or anything that may provide electrical interference? ua-cam.com/video/X1xlFO5NZvU/v-deo.html
I have an iRig I/O Duo. Why would I want this Pre? Sorry, didn’t mean to “sound” snarky, just typing here. I’m just a dweeb trying to figure this stuff out. I thought the I/O might be higher signal to noise ratio because it goes directly to digital, and additionally lets me go into my iPad lightning port, because soon many devices might not have a 3.5 port. The I/O frees up the 3.5 jack on my iPad
Yup. This is more of an entry level interface as it’s about a third the cost and uses the analog input. The iRig Pro I/O and Duo are lower noise and using digital connections will give you a much cleaner signal.
Dang I really wish it took a guitar cable too. I’ve seen inputs accept both into the same jack. Any simple device you recommend for audio jack and XLR combined? (iPad Pro, USB-C)
@@PeteJohnsMusic the adapters that have female 3.5mm and usb type c are not connected in the same way. i have tried different ones. the other devices work. the pre2 does not work. instead with old iphone and samsung it works. the pre 2.
@@PeteJohnsMusic yes the original version like when I try to run a passage on my Looper through my mixer into the iRig into my phone for music on my UA-cam channel and it's the quiet part there's hiss that you can hear I wonder if the irig2 would work better and get rid of that or if I should go the digital route

Any advice on how to use the iRig HD2 or Focusrite 8i6 with TikTok? I can only hear myself as recorded on playback review. I should be able to hear myself live while recording along with the original video in my headphones . . .

Totally!!!!
I want to plug in my acoustic guitar while singing using a XLR mic using a video app. Not only audio. What do you recommend? Thank you.
It can be hard with just one device and some apps. I he iRig Pro Duo would cover the audio input/output you need. studiolivetoday.com/gear

Which of them did you think was the least harsh/strong in spoken words?
In short; you get what you pay for. I like the iRig Pro series personally. studiolivetoday.com/gear
Can you use this for DJing
You’d be better off with one of the iRig Stream or Pro devices. studiolivetoday.com/gear

On their website, they say that it comes with 2 usb cables .. one for I phone & the other for android
Yup. Correct. There’s a Lightning and a USB-A cable. You’ll still need an adapter to use it with a USB-C device.
What pipe mic did you use in this video?
I can’t recall sorry. Check out all my gear recommendations here. studiolivetoday.com/gear
Does it work to use the xlr input through guitar input jack for recording as well? Please reply🙏🏻
No. You’ll need an iRig with a dedicated TS 1/4” guitar input jack for this. studiolivetoday.com/gear

Clowns rule.
So with this Irig device, I can plug in a vintage 1960s EV 664 microphone to my iPhone?
Yup. Any device with a mic input and preamp will do the job.
I'm having trouble recording on tik tok using this irig on my iPad. Does it allow you to record on anything your phone mic would?
Yes. Because it is analog it can be very handy as it just shows up as the iPad/iPhone mic.

Yeah cool the iRig Pro I/O that I mentioned in the video is great for that. Here’s a link to a video about it. ua-cam.com/video/jkAGVKOtguo/v-deo.html
U can buy the saramonic smartrig which can use both but only 1 at a time xlr or guitar jack inputs.
So steinberg ur22C is out, isn´t it, Pete?
Nope. This thing is great on the go but it’s not quite at the level of a Steinberg UR22C. IRig Pro series is a good happy medium too.
Love the sound of your acoustic guitar whatever it is it’s clearly a nice instrument what is it a Martin?
Hey Ned. It's a Taylor. It's kinda my baby (don't tell my kids). But seriously, it's actually the absolute entry level Taylor 110e but I love it.
Seems a very neat device. Thanks for sharing (and singing
Thanks my friend. Yes, it’s a very cool little interface.
Cool. I’m looking into using it to up my video quality.
Nice one.
Hi Pete great video . just a question can I use this with Bandlab . Also would this work to record violins??
Yup it’s just a standard mic interface so will work with anything you want to mic up.
@@PeteJohnsMusic thank you so much.
Yoooo Pete .. what do you think about a comparison between this and the ssl 2 ?
Yeah I’ve heard good things but haven’t actually tried the SSL2 personally.
@@PeteJohnsMusic that’s fair I’ve got both but I’m not sure which gets a better recording from a cardioid (lewitt)
Thanks for a great review. Is it possible to record in 24 bit format with I rig pre 2
Hey there. So, you’re probably better off with the digital version (iRig Pre HD) if you’re looking for the best quality audio.
Thanks again. Subbed:-)
It does not work with android usb type c system even if you use the adapter
Really? Works for me using the genuine Apple USB-C to 3.5mm TRRS. Make sure your adapter is TRRS (4 pole) - ua-cam.com/video/za1-jPvjiMs/v-deo.html

Hey Pete, I purchased this actually, what’s the best way to live stream with this on Instagram with just one device like an iPad or iphone ..?
And get effects like reverb from garageband
Instagram should just use this as your mic since it’s analog. So just open the app and go!
@@PeteJohnsMusic how do I get a channel strip or like a reverb through to Instagram?
@@PeteJohnsMusic yes you’re right but I can’t apply effects .. like a reverb and delay
