  • This KFL educational video focuses on the caregivers of those living with lupus! Two experts draw upon their wealth of experience to provide important perspectives and practical advice as they highlight the tools caregivers need take care of themselves while they take care of their loved ones with lupus.
    The goal of this video is to empower caregivers and to provide strategies that will help them maintain their own health and wellbeing as they fill a critical role in the life of the lupus patient.
    Presenters include:
    Angela Farrar Small, MSW, LICSW, Mdiv, MS is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, and in this video, she discusses the emotional rewards and challenges of being a caregiver for someone with lupus. Angela describes the changing roles and relationships that can take place between patient and caregiver, and she outlines a number of strategies that each of us can use to take care of our emotional selves. These include a Caregiver's Toolkit and the Caregivers Bill of Rights!
    Arnita Roberts-Christie, RN, BSN, MS, is a registered nurse and patient engagement liaison with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Arnita's presentation includes tips on the importance of communication when caring for someone living with lupus, how to deal with your own stress, and how to be a part of a patient's overall healthcare team!
