This video answers so many questions about my 240d. Thank you.
This is the best video that i have seen sofar for changing the engine mounts. I am changing mine and i had all sorts of questions, like where to the cover arrow point, how to remove the mini shocks as mine was turning. You have covered everything in detail and so well explained. Thank you for making such DIY inspirational videos.
Regards,
Sujit
Thank you so much for the kind words Sujit. I’m glad it was helpful. Good luck with your car.
I’ve owned these 300’s for years. I changed my engine mounts 5 years ago & sure wish I’d seen this first. I’m afraid I need to change them again - I did not use the original equipment - I’ve done that on a few jobs and regretted it. Thanks for your good advice.
Thank you. I’d definitely recommend getting Lemforder engine mounts as they were the OEM supplier for MB. A lot of the other brands unfortunately don’t last nearly as long.
We have a 1978 300D W123 and it has an engine stop part number: 123 240 03 65 which is just behind the oil pan. This means the chassis is lifted with the engine until that engine stop bracket is unbolted.
Amazing! Please keep uploading on the w123 content, I'm all the way here for it
new (to me) shop looks great, wish I could be there to learn working on these! I now own an old(er) German car myself, a 23 year old BMW 320ci, not quite as vintage though 😉
Yes it’s a little bigger shop, so lots of room. That’s cool, you should send me some pictures of it! I bet it’s a lot faster than any of my cars.
Great Video Boko, very informative. Glad to see you back.
Thank you!
Really nice video, I needed those informations thanks a lot ! Where may I find the factory service manual ?
Great job thank you
Amazing video!!!!!
Welcome back. Nice job.
Hope all is well. Not much into Mercedes, came for the trucking.
Thank you, I had not been able to post for awhile but hope to post a trucking update soon too.
thanks for this, wish i watched it before doing it. which offset reversible ratcheting wrench is that? and how did you mount a socket to it? with a hex to 1/4" square adapter?
🤗👍👌
What is the shield for? Can I leave it off for better acces sto the bolts?
Great video! What socket size is the motor mount?
8mm hex socket for the bigger one, usually 6mm hex for the 2 smaller ones
What Mercedes part #s did you use for those mounts?
Boko...how's the new wife, the new house, newtown...and trucking business?
